[In the Darkness]
In the midst of the dark void, in nothingness, the silhouette of a figure emerges. It is formed partly from the darkness itself, partly from pure light.
The being lets out a heavy sigh, looks around, and fixes its gaze on a distant bright point. It begins moving toward it, though the journey seems endless. After a moment of silence, it starts talking to itself.
"So, I died, huh? Ha! Finally. My whole pathetic life was worth nothing. I don't even remember how, where, or why it happened. But honestly, it doesn't matter. I was never some emo crybaby, even though I hoped for an early death. And now I got it."
"Beautiful darkness... This is just like some anime or fanfic I used to watch and read. So, what now? Do I reach the light, forget everything, and start over? Well, I don't have much choice anyway. Let's see what happens."
"Even though I'm missing some memories, I still remember enough. I was twenty. Worked as a cook… man, that job sucked. Good thing I died, I really couldn't take it anymore. The restaurant industry is garbage. I mean, yeah, I like cooking, but the people in that field? A disaster."
"Family situation? Well, I lived only with my mother. She worked like crazy to get us out of the debt my father put us in. He drank and gambled away everything he could. Eventually, he started a new family and abandoned us. Apparently, he even stopped gambling. But alcohol? That stayed with him. Maybe he'll actually make it to retirement, who knows? And me? I was alone. Like most weebs and nerds. A worthless loser."
"Shit, what's my name? I don't hear it in any of my memories. When I try to remember, all I hear is something like Qbert: @#¥*$!"
After what felt like an eternity, the nameless being arrives at a golden-white screen.
"I hope this has dark mode, or it'll burn my retinas."
"So, is this my golden finger to a new life? I hope it's not some Sister Leveling System bullshit."
A single text appears on the screen:
[Lord of Destiny]
[You are trash, chosen by fate itself to become something greater than you can imagine. If you agree, there is no turning back. Do you wish to proceed? Y/N]
"Lord of Destiny? Isn't fate supposed to be above everything? How can someone rule over it? But this… this is what I've always hoped for. I'll become a god. I'll go back and destroy those who bullied me… No! As Uncle Ben said, 'With great power comes great responsibility.'"
With this dumb monologue, the being pressed Y. A new text appeared on the screen:
[You were chosen by fate, but you are nothing special. Your selection was pure coincidence, nothing more than luck. Now, you will become the ruler of a power no one else possesses.]
The screen changed again:
[As trash, you have been granted the gift of three wishes. But beware! You cannot wish for anything that grants additional wishes—no 'daily wish systems' or similar bullshit! Absolute power must be earned, it won't just fall from the sky.]
"Hmm, so three wishes. Sweet. I'll finally have everything I want."
[Please select your wishes]

"Alright, let's do this. I already have the perfect power in mind."

"Of course I am! I just hope my last wish goes through. It's kinda broken, but whatever… Even if they don't allow it, I'll still be the Shadow Monarch and have an OP system."
The screen disappeared.
"Shit, did I screw up? I just wanted power. I shouldn't have been so greedy. I literally broke the rules they set. Their ultimate power is something that even surpasses divinity—especially Yogiri's. And on top of that, it's basically two wishes in one."
After a moment, the screen reappeared. This time, it wasn't white, but purely golden.
[Your wishes have been approved.]
[Since you broke security regulations, you have been granted the title: 'The One Who Outsmarted Fate Itself.']
[This title grants you a minor ability to manipulate fate—a skill that will be useful when creating new identities in the worlds you visit.]
"Hell yeah! Not only did it go through, but I even got an OP title! Let's go!"
"I wonder what's next? Do I choose a world? And when do I get my powers? I wanna be OP already!"
[Your new power will be granted upon reincarnation.]
"Huh, did the Fate System just respond to me?"
[Yes, I am always present. Now, choose the world in which you will live. Choose wisely.]
As soon as the text was read, the screen disappeared again.
"Again?! Do they have bad ping or something? I just wanna go to a new world and get my powers. But where? Hmm, I guess I have to wait for the options."
The moment the being finished speaking, a new screen appeared:

[Your task, as the Lord of Destiny, is to create a new fate. The outcome may differ from canon more or less—that choice is yours. But remember, the Lord of Destiny does whatever he wants. Live your new life.]
