Chapter 54 - Harribel understanding (54)

Soul Society – 12th Division Barracks

The air in the 12th Division was tense. The normally controlled and methodical lab was filled with murmurs as reports flooded in.

Seated at the center of it all, a bespectacled Shinigami adjusted his gloves as he read the report once more, his golden eyes narrowing behind his glasses.

All dead.

Not a single survivor.

The squadron of Shinigami sent to the human world had been completely wiped out. But that wasn't the strangest part.

There was no detectable energy signature from the attackers.

No trace of reiatsu. No sign of a Cero, Sonido, or even a single clash of Zanpakuto.

It was as if they had been erased.

The head researcher tapped his fingers against his desk, deep in thought.

Something was very wrong.

Whoever did this had found a way to remain hidden.

This was looking like the Hollow incident that happened a bit ago.

What was happening?

They needed to study this.

Hueco Mundo – Belial's Return

The Garganta tore open in the throne room of Gabriel's castle, darkness giving way to the grand hall of the Demon King.

Belial Cabrón stepped forward, dragging the corpses of the fallen Shinigami behind him. His soldiers followed, silent and disciplined, knowing better than to speak before their king.

They were mostly corpses. They were alive, although barely, and the Pluses he came with were quite scared... being surrounded by Hollows shocked them to the core.

If only they knew, their fate would be much, much worse.

Gabriel's idle transfiguration was going to have a field day with them.

While they were gone, he had spent some time turning more Hollows into Arrancar and getting rid of some Hollow hunger.

Over the last couple of weeks, he hadn't had time for some alone time with his wife... truly sad.

Hm, well, time for some research. With his power, he could mass-produce Hollows and turn Pluses into Hollows, maybe even turn them into Shinigami with Hollow powers.

Have himself a group of people like that.

Since Shinigami viewed themselves as the good guys—the balancers, the angels, one might say—what happened when an angel and a human had a kid?

Probably call this group Nephilim, because it was fitting—Shinigami with Hollow power.

And anyone that wasn't in his army who dared to have Hollow power shall have their Hollow power removed, stripped from them.

Unless they were born with it—then that shit would be harder. He could still do it, but it would be a lot easier to just remove it from some Shinigami who gained Hollow power instead of someone born with it.

Belial knelt, lowering his head in respect. "The mission was a success, Your Majesty. The targets were eliminated, their bodies retrieved for your research."

Gabriel's smirk widened as he looked down at the lifeless Shinigami. "Efficient. No mess. No energy traces left behind. As expected of you, Belial."

Belial simply bowed his head. "I live to serve, my lord. All is for your glory."

Gabriel chuckled. "Good answer."

He leaned forward and extended his hand, conjuring a small, glowing orb from the void. The sphere pulsed with raw, primal power—inside, the compressed souls of twenty Adjucha-class Hollows swirled violently.

A gift.

Gabriel tossed the orb to Belial. "You've done well. Take this as your reward."

Belial caught it effortlessly, staring at the swirling mass within. His fingers trembled slightly—not from fear, but from anticipation.

"This... is too generous, my king," he murmured.

Gabriel waved a hand dismissively. "You've earned it. Now eat."

Belial did not hesitate.

He crushed the orb between his fingers, devouring the raw essence of twenty Hollows in a single motion.

A surge of power erupted through his body. His veins burned with raw energy, muscles tensing as the souls melded into his very being. His reiatsu flared violently, the primal instincts of the consumed Hollows roaring within him.

His strength had doubled.

Belial clenched his fists, feeling the raw ferocity coursing through his veins. He was stronger. Faster.

More worthy of standing at Gabriel's side.

He bowed deeply, his voice filled with gratitude. "I thank you, my lord. This power... I will use it well."

Gabriel merely nodded. "Good. Now go."

Belial rose, turned, and left—his mind racing with possibilities. He would become even stronger.

Experimentation Begins

With Belial gone, Gabriel turned his attention to the Shinigami corpses. They would survive.

He snapped his fingers, summoning a group of low-ranking Arrancar. They were weak in combat, but their abilities in other fields were invaluable.

"Strap them up," he ordered, motioning toward the bodies.

The Arrancar obeyed without hesitation, dragging the lifeless Shinigami to the far end of the chamber, where dark metal restraints awaited. Straps. Chains. Hooks.

Gabriel watched, his eyes gleaming with something twisted.

Harribel did not even bat an eye at Gabriel's actions; she had grown used to his brutality.

Plus, what he was doing was further helping Hollow-kind—she could look away for this.

She was no saint. She knew that in order to put order into Hueco Mundo, some dirty work must be handled, and he was handling it just fine.

And knowing her husband, he probably would be in there for days, experimenting on Shinigami, Hollow prisoners, and Pluses.

She would call up some Hollows in the court.

"Form a squad and enter Soul Society. Your mission is simple: gather as many souls as you can, lure out the Shinigami, and kidnap them."

If she knew her husband well, chances were, he would break the current supply he had, so better have some more in stock.

"Yes, Your Majesty," the Hollow bowed. They already had a squad ready for this.

A squad that she had made a while back. Of course, Belial was present—if it was to help his majesty, he would be there.

He didn't care who he had to face.

For his majesty, he shall always be there.

A/N...fun fact Belial was based on Beru from solo leveling, couldn't make it to obvious, so I thought, Beru is the goat...and hum, Belial became the goat Adjucha, the glazing is only starting, bet, even if he does die and reincarnate in the soul society, he might just become a hollow again the second he see his majesty.

Fun fact about Ifrit.

Sometimes it feels like I am shoving what Gabriel is down your throats, yet you all can't see it. Even with all the hints there, I shouldn't be shocked. After all, no one seems to have figured out why Sora's story has the ###, or the {redacted} thing, but this one doesn't.
