Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: A New Mission

At this moment, Veigar Koshima was even more bewildered than Might Guy. Before leaving, Shizune Kato had muttered something under her breath, and he had heard every single word.

Even though Veigar's body was that of a child, his mind and soul were fully those of an adult.

Shizune's words had struck him like a critical hit, making him acutely aware of just how mature kids in this world seemed to be.

"What the hell are kids thinking about these days?" he grumbled internally, feeling utterly speechless.

The next day.

After another high-energy running match with Might Guy, Veigar arrived punctually at Training Ground 44.

Before long, Kakashi Hatake also appeared. After exchanging a few words, Minato Namikaze joined them.

"Good morning, Sensei!"

Veigar and Kakashi greeted Minato politely.

"Good morning, Veigar, Kakashi," Minato replied, his face radiating satisfaction, as if something had made him incredibly happy.

Then, he continued, "A couple of days ago, I mentioned that I had prepared a gift for you both."

"Well? Are you excited?"

Silently, Veigar and Kakashi exchanged glances, as if they had reached an unspoken agreement. Then, in perfect unison, they shook their heads and said, "Not really."

"Uh…"

Their reaction left Minato momentarily speechless. Scratching his head in exasperation, he said, "Alright, since you're not looking forward to it, I won't keep you in suspense."

"Today, I'll be teaching each of you a new jutsu."

"Well? Happy now?"

Once again, Veigar and Kakashi's reactions defied Minato's expectations.

Kakashi responded calmly, "I figured as much."

Veigar, equally composed, asked, "So, which Wind Release jutsu will you be teaching me?"

At that moment, Minato felt an overwhelming urge to give both of them a good smack. These kids were seriously testing his patience.

However, he ultimately let it slide. Instead, he pulled out a scroll and handed it to Kakashi, saying, "Kakashi, this scroll was left by your father, Sakumo, for me to give you when the time was right. It contains the jutsu I'll be teaching you."

"But since I don't specialize in Lightning Release, you'll have to train on your own to master it."

"If you run into any difficulties, you can ask your father when he's home."

With visible excitement, Kakashi respectfully accepted the scroll with both hands and said, "Thank you, Sensei."

Then, looking at Minato, he added, "Sensei, I'll be over there training."

Minato nodded. "Go ahead."

Once Kakashi had left, Minato turned to Veigar. "Veigar, come with me."

"Yes, Sensei."

Veigar acknowledged the command, stealing a glance at Kakashi before following Minato into the forest.

After weaving through the trees, they arrived at a high ridge overlooking Training Ground 44. A gentle breeze swept across the area as Minato turned to face Veigar and said, "This is the place."

"Here?" Veigar asked, slightly puzzled.

Glancing around, he saw nothing unusual.

Minato nodded. "That's right. This is where I'll teach you your new jutsu—Wind Release: Great Breakthrough. It's a jutsu with strong practical applications."

"The wind here will also help you in your training."

As he spoke, Minato's expression grew nostalgic. This was the same place where Jiraiya had first taught him a jutsu.

Thrilled at the opportunity to learn a new technique, Veigar quickly responded, "Understood. Thank you, Sensei! I'll train hard."

Minato nodded approvingly before beginning his lesson on Wind Release: Great Breakthrough.

Unlike offensive jutsu, Wind Release: Great Breakthrough was primarily used to blow away enemies or objects, creating openings and disrupting attacks.

Although its damage output was relatively low, Veigar was quite fond of it.

After all, with his mastery of both kenjutsu and the Rasengan, he didn't lack powerful attacks. What he needed were jutsu that focused on utility, control, recovery, and deception.

Even the strongest jutsu was useless if it couldn't hit the target. But support-oriented jutsu could adapt to different combat situations, sometimes even turning the tide of battle.

For Veigar, Wind Release: Great Breakthrough was an ideal choice.

After a full day of Minato's meticulous instruction, Veigar had grasped the basics—learning the hand signs and how to generate wind in his mouth. However, he would need more time to fully master the technique.

A week passed in the blink of an eye.

During this time, neither Veigar nor Kakashi took on any missions, allowing Veigar to focus entirely on his training. He was quite content, steadily improving day by day.

But his short-lived period of leisure was about to come to an end.

Minato had accepted a new mission.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

After forming the hand seals, Veigar exhaled, sending out a powerful gust of wind. The surrounding trees swayed and rustled from the force of the jutsu.

"Well, well. In just a few days, you've already mastered Wind Release: Great Breakthrough. Looks like you've been training hard," came Minato's voice.

Veigar turned to see his mentor, who had been absent for the past few days.

"Sensei," he greeted respectfully.

"I was able to learn it so quickly thanks to your excellent teaching."

At the same time, Veigar chastised himself. It was clear that Minato had been watching him for a while, yet he hadn't noticed. That was unacceptable.

Even in the relative safety of Konoha, he needed to remain vigilant.

Minato shook his head. "It's not because of me. This is the result of your hard work."
