Chapter 38: Riding a Bird to the Magical Beast Mountain Range
Yue Mei and Hua She'er listened respectfully. Although they were curious about why the Guardian Spirit didn't directly inform the three Grand Elders himself but instead asked them to pass on the message, they knew he must have his reasons.
After bidding farewell to the two, Wu Tian returned to his chambers. The next morning, Hua She'er discovered that he had already left the palace.
Panicked, she immediately called for Yue Mei to inform the three Grand Elders.
However, the three Elders remained calm upon receiving the news.
They understood why the Guardian Spirit had relayed his message through Yue Mei and Hua She'er it was to establish their authority.
From now on, they would be the ones issuing public orders.
No one knew where the Guardian Spirit had gone, only that he was searching for a way to help Queen Medusa recover faster.
One Day Later...
At the edge of the desert, in Mo City, a young man walked along the bustling streets.
He wore a simple white robe, giving off an air of elegance and composure.
As he observed the people moving through the streets, he noticed a clear contrast in attire.
The men were shirtless, their dark, sun kissed skin glistening with sweat, exuding a rugged and hardy aura.
But the women?
Oh ho!
They were a sight to behold.
Although their bronzed skin carried a sun kissed glow, it had a healthy, sensual tone rather than being rough or burnt.
Each woman was clad in tight leather outfits, carefully designed to cover only the most necessary areas.
The ample curves, the graceful waists, and the long, toned legs all boldly exposed.
Their snake like movements as they walked through the city only added another layer of allure.
Mo City was alive.
And it wasn't just the humans who thrived here.
Slithering among them, Serpentfolk moved freely, seamlessly blending into the human population like close allies.
Patrolling squads of Serpentfolk soldiers, both male and female, maintained order, their presence ensuring that no one dared disrupt the fragile peace between the two races.
And among all this...
One young man had witnessed it all.
He had enjoyed every bit of this grand spectacle.
And he had savored it.
That young man was none other than Wu Tian, who had finally left the Serpentfolk's royal city.
His goal?
To leave the desert.
And the best way to do that?
Fly.
Wu Tian had zero interest in exhausting himself by flying on his own.
Why suffer when he could just ride a magical beast and let it do all the work?
However, to stay hidden, he wore a simple white mask, disguising his identity.
Unfortunately…
That also meant he had to pay to enter the city.
Seriously?!
I'm the one who OWNS this place!
And yet I still have to pay?!
Wu Tian sighed as he reluctantly handed over the entry fee.
Still, he soon got over it.
After all, Mo City was a familiar place.
He had been here before back when Medusa had chased after Hai Bodong.
Taking a deep breath, he let himself enjoy the bustling city atmosphere.
He even considered trying some street food
Until he realized…
There was nothing to eat on the streets.
Due to the extreme heat, all the good food was sold inside taverns and restaurants.
Well, there goes my dream of eating while sightseeing…
With no other distractions, Wu Tian headed straight for his true objective:
The Flying Transport Hub.
It was the quickest and most convenient way to leave Mo City.
Since Mo City was now ruled by the Serpentfolk, the Empire still had a transportation system in place but now, they had to pay a fee to operate here.
In return, the Serpentfolk profited from the travelers.
It was a fair deal.
A win win situation.
Arriving at the northern city gates, Wu Tian saw a large open square filled with over a dozen massive flying beasts.
These were Thick Winged Birds
A species not classified as magical beasts, but highly valued for their gentle nature and exceptional endurance.
Unlike other flying creatures, they could sustain long distance flights for up to four to five days on a single meal.
They could also carry several times their body weight, making them ideal for mass transport.
The Empire had invested heavily into maintaining this transportation network.
And now?
The Serpentfolk were making bank from it.
Perfect business.
Of course, Wu Tian had zero intentions of spending the entire journey flying on his own.
Why suffer?
Instead, he planned to relax and sleep during the trip.
However…
Standing in line to buy a ticket was… frustrating.
As the ruler of the Serpentfolk, he felt humiliated having to wait like an ordinary person.
This is ridiculous.
I need my own flying mount.
That thought began to take root in his mind.
A personal flying beast.
One that he could summon at will.
One that would answer his call instantly.
One that would make him look absolutely badass.
Yeah… I definitely need one.
Waiting in line is just… unacceptable.
Unfortunately, he had no choice but to wait for now.
Just as he reached the ticket booth, a sultry voice greeted him.
"Hello, handsome sir.
Where would you like to go?"
Wu Tian looked up.
Oh?
Standing before him was a ticket seller
And, oh boy, she was something else.
Like most women in Mo City, she wore minimal fabric, exposing a curvy, well toned figure.
Her playful eyes twinkled as she awaited his answer.
Wu Tian responded flatly,
"Magical Beast Mountain Range."
The woman smiled as she printed his ticket.
But just as she handed it over,
She brushed her fingers against his hand
Deliberately.
Wu Tian froze for a moment.
Wait… what?
Did she just ?
Before he could say anything, she winked and pulled her hand away.
Wu Tian sighed.
Whatever.
He paid for his ticket and joined the boarding queue.
As he waited, he clenched his fist slightly.
This was unacceptable.
He was the ruler of the Serpentfolk.
And yet…
He had to stand in line like a commoner?
He had to pay for a ticket like everyone else?
He even got hit on by a random woman?!
No more.
No more of this nonsense.
Wu Tian made a firm decision.
No matter what it took,
he was getting himself a personal flying beast.
This humiliation wouldn't happen again.
