Chapter 1 - Prologue- Music of dreams

Scefen and Neftal pored over a device that had been a relic of their dreams for years—something that would eradicate a major cause of human misery: illness. They tinkered with tiny devices and tools, only stopping for an occasional sip of coffee. After a while, Neftal withdrew with puffy red eyes and a huge yawn.

"I must sleep now, else I may faint of exhaustion", he said.

Scefen waved an irritated hand dismissing him. Neftal walked over to his mattress in the little hut they owned but instead of falling into a deep slumber he miraculously had time to think.

For thirty years, they cared only for their work sometimes not sleeping for days, let alone thinking for themselves. Neftal hummed a tune much to annoyance of Scefen. He sang a short tune of success and ambition which filled the air with melody.

As night darkened and owls started to hoot, he drifted off, never to be woken again. Scefen claimed credit for the device, but the truth was soon revealed. Neftal was the genius, while Scefen was a murderer who wanted to take credit for doing no work. Neftal was a great hero who worked relentlessly for humanity, and Scefen was a money-grubbing fool who killed the international genius who could bring wonders to humanity.

Neftal was remembered as a messiah by the world—a savior who selflessly saved the world. His tale flew through lands and filled everyone's ears. They say the tune of his song still echoes in the bounds and wilds of his hut.
