Chapter 54 - 54. We are a team

"Yes, I am." The Athamana boy with a snow-white face lowered his head. "I'm sorry Citar."

"It's fine..." The Bolacsuk boy took a deep breath. "Sorry for this." He stated, and then, ignoring the staring crowd, slapped the danovus boy. The other only looked at him with wide-open eyes after the move, because angry tears glistened in the eyes of the Bolacsuk boy.

"Citar?" Came the quiet question.

"If I had known this, I wouldn't always worry myself to death when you are in danger! Of course you can do our training course, you're a supernatural being..." The pepper-red-faced boy's words suddenly stop and his eyes widened enormously. "The training course." He giggles suddenly. "The fucking training course!" He laughs. "I should have known! The last part could not have been done with human speed, you came out of nowhere and your eyes..." Here Citar swallowed hard, then suddenly stood up. "I'm sorry boss, but I need some air." He lowered his head, then turned around and almost ran out of the building.

"Citar!" Wandi moved after the boy.

"You're not going anywhere!" His father scolded him. The veins on the boy's forehead were literally visible as he clenched his fists.

"Teveli, Suk, go after him and make sure that he doesn't drown himself in lava in his shame." Razvan gave the order.

"Damn it, I still had dinner." Suk grumbled, but he already stood up and went after Citar with Teveli silently shaking his head by his side.

"Can we continue eating?" Came the question from Razvan, which managed to get most people to see eating again. Even Rahul started eating again albeit slowly. "I know you want to go after him, but right now it's better if you leave him alone for a bit, Wandi." As Razvan uttered these words, the chüvigh traveler next to him turned to Wandi in surprise.

The danovus boy was still sitting in the same tense pose, half turned towards the door. Rahul took a deep breath and pushed himself up from his seat to sit next to Wandi in Citar's place, but with his back to the rest of the table.

"You have nothing to worry about. You know what Citar is like. He goes wild, then he goes sad, then he goes wild again and everything will be as if nothing happened. You are his friend, his comrade. This kind of thing doesn't go away just because it turns out that you've lied to him over something small." Rahul explained looking at the door. Beside him, Wandi flashed his teeth and even gritted them before answering.

"This is no small matter." At this Rahul just laughed.

"I think so. And anyway, as I see it, it's a common agreement here that it's a secret. As much as it looks like that, Citar is not stupid, he will understand why you did it." The boy shrugged.

"He will be afraid of me." Wandi muttered before Rahul hit him on the back of the head.

"Bullshit! Just because, you are a dad..." Here he grimaced and looked at Razvan. "Tapló boss, what the hell are they called again?

"Danovus." Razvan smiled.

"That! So just because you're a danovus?" He growled at Wandi. "I'm not afraid of you either, even though I was specifically taught that your kind can suck my blood dry in the blink of an eye and even enjoy it." He swallowed and then shook his head. "But you never once attacked us. It's like you don't even need the blood, so why the fene should he be afraid of you?!" He put his hands on his hips.

"Only wild danovuses need to drink blood often, we..." Wandi began, but Rahul pressed half his hand over his mouth.

"Don't even think about explaining, if you do my dinner will come back, which I won't risk if possible, because it was really good." Rahul shivered, then smiled and lowered his hand. "If I've learned something since I've been here, it's that we are a team and neither the devil nor God can change that. So calm down. Besides, I bet Citar is already getting on Suk's nerves by talking about you." Rahul stretched.

"Thank you." Wandi smiled, surprising the other danovuses present, but Rahul just waved.

"Don't push it, it's not a big deal." He shrugged. "I still don't know how to be polite, but if I understand correctly, you are the bosses here." The boy turned in his chair and looked at Wandi's parents, who stared back at him with a confused face, but nodded slowly. "That's right, then, as good hosts, I think you van also provide overnight accommodation. Just because this chüvigh." He pointed to himself. "He is not used to not sleeping all day and he is slowly getting to the stage of sleepiness, when he falls asleep sitting, shame, or not shame." He folded his arms in front of him.

"We..." The Vojk chieftain began, then took a deep breath and nodded. "Naturally. I hope the guests will forgive me for the former." The man took back his polite behavior, which made Rahul feel as if the other was afraid of being flayed alive if he messed something up.

"Of course we'll." Razvan nodded. "If I may suggest, how about your son take my team to their quarters and I stay here. I'm sure we have a lot to talk about." Razvan said in a serious voice.

"That's true." The tribal chief nodded, then turned to Wandi. "Son, would you do it?"

"Yes, father." Wandi pulled himself out, then quickly stood up. "Please come after me." He looked at the remaining members of the team. And the three boys followed his example and stood up, then left the room behind the danovus boy.

"Thanks to the centuries-old rules of the Vojks, no one ever found out that we were danovuses." The tribal chief began in a serious voice. "How did you find out what we are, young man?" He narrowed his eyes, and Razvan just chuckled.

"Thanks to the gift of men." He announced.

"What does the gift of men have to do with this?" The man frowned.

"Tell me, do you know who was the leader of Athira's second army?" As the question left Razvan's lips, several older-looking danovuses took a surprised breath.

"Who wouldn't? He was the twin brother of the great Athira." Came the answer. "They say he was just as powerful as Athira himself, the only difference was that he couldn't use the Godwhip." At this, Razvan smiled faintly.

"Exactly. Athira has always been better with the whip than I have been." The boy pulled himself out, which made everyone in the room look at him with wide eyes.

"Yes, this is the rebirth of the bastard General Csito." Etele suddenly appeared in front of them with folded hands.

"A ghost!" The tribal chief jumped to his feet. "How did a ghost get through the protective runes?"

"As if they would stop me..." Etele scratched his nose with one hand. "Whatever. I just come to see what happened. Rahul was quite excited, I thought something was wrong, but nothing interesting." He waved. "If you need me Tapló leader, I'll be with the kids." He turned his back and his figure began to fade.

"The Fene needs you, Svihák." Razvan rolled his eyes. "I think we had enough excitement today. Tribal Chief, would you do me the honor of taking me to my quarters?" He asked the question with a honey-glazed smile on his lips.
