Chapter 29 - Descent Into the Depths

The Group walked inside the open temple door

The air inside the temple was thick with the scent of ancient magic. Faint blue runes glowed in and out along the walls, pulsing with the remnants of divine energy.

Celeste, Dain, and Arianne stepped forward, their footsteps echoing through the abandoned halls.

"This place..." Arianne said, looking at the ancient carvings. "It's older than Eidolon itself."

Celeste studied the inscriptions. They depicted figures unlike any gods she had seen before these beings were surrounded by chaotic swirls of Aether.

Dain frowned. "These don't look like the Pantheon's usual imagery."

"Because they aren't dumbass" Arianne murmured. "This temple… it belonged to something before the Pantheon."

Celeste's stomach twisted. If that was true, then whatever deeper inside might not just be dangerous—it's something the gods never wanted anyone to find.

A sudden gust of wind swept through the corridor, carrying whispers

Celeste jolted

Something was waiting for them.
