Chapter 13 - Chapter 14 – The Price of Strength

Half a year had passed.

Six months of relentless training. Six months of pushing his limits. Six months of adapting to a world that refused to accept him.

Oliver Queen was no longer just a skilled archer with decent chakra control—he had mastered the three basic academy techniques to a level that few could match. The Clone Jutsu, Substitution Jutsu, and Transformation Jutsu were no longer just simple tricks to him. They were tools of deception, survival, and precision.

The Clone Jutsu? His illusions were no longer just distractions. He had learned how to make them move realistically, act independently, and even use feints in battle to throw off opponents.

The Substitution Jutsu? It was no longer a last-second escape move. He could prepare multiple swap points in advance, using the battlefield itself as his weapon. He could chain his substitutions, confusing even skilled warriors by vanishing and reappearing in unpredictable ways.

The Transformation Jutsu? It had become his most vital tool—not for battle, but for survival.

Because the village was turning against him.

The Whispered Fear

It had started small.

Cold looks. Unanswered greetings. People lowering their voices when he walked by.

At first, Oliver had assumed it was just suspicion—he was, after all, an outsider, and Konoha wasn't exactly quick to trust those they didn't know. But as weeks passed, the hostility grew.

Some shopkeepers refused to sell him food. Others outright ignored him when he entered their stores. He had walked into a tailor's shop once, trying to buy a new set of clothes, only to have the owner tell him flatly that they didn't serve his kind.

His kind.

At first, Oliver thought it was just about him being an outsider. But then he started hearing the rumors.

"He's too strong for a foreigner."

"No one knows where he came from, and yet he's training with Guy and Tetsuo?"

"Did you hear? Even the Anbu are watching him."

"What if he's a spy?"

"What if he's a threat?"

Oliver wasn't naïve. He had seen fear like this before—back in Star City, in the way people reacted to vigilantes. But here, in Konoha, the fear was turning into something worse.

Isolation.

He couldn't even buy food without running into trouble. And so, he adapted.

With his mastery of the Transformation Jutsu, Oliver learned to disguise himself. Some days, he'd take the form of a regular villager, blending into the crowd to buy supplies. Other times, he'd turn into an elderly merchant or even a traveling ninja, just to avoid the stares and hostility.

It worked—for now.

But he knew this was only a temporary fix.

The Bonds That Kept Him Going

Despite the village turning against him, Oliver wasn't alone.

In these past months, he had formed three friendships that kept him grounded: Rock Lee, Tenten, and Hinata Hyuga.

Rock Lee had become his rival in training, always pushing him to go further. Their daily sparring matches had turned into legendary sessions of endurance—pushing each other until neither could stand.

Tenten had taken an interest in his archery skills, often challenging him with her own weapon mastery. She had a sharp tongue, but Oliver respected her determination. More than once, they had spent hours discussing different ranged combat techniques, combining their knowledge to improve each other's craft.

And then there was Hinata.

Unlike the others, she never pushed him to train harder or prove himself. Instead, she simply listened. When the weight of the village's rejection became too much, she was the one who reminded him that not everyone in Konoha saw him as an outsider.

"You don't have to fight alone," she had told him one evening, her pale eyes full of quiet understanding.

He had never spoken about his past, but somehow, she understood his struggle.

Oliver had always been a lone warrior. But for the first time in a long time, he had friends who truly stood by him.

The Watchful Eyes of the Anbu

But even as he built these friendships, he could feel the village's paranoia growing.

And it wasn't just the civilians.

The Anbu were watching him more closely than ever. He had caught glimpses of them in the shadows, felt their presence during his training, sensed their eyes on him whenever he walked through the village.

They weren't just observing anymore. They were waiting.

For what? He wasn't sure.

But he knew one thing—sooner or later, Konoha would make its move.

And when that time came, he had to be ready.
