Chapter 18 - Chapter eighteen

Charles Mvula's Villa – Namibia

The sun was setting over Windhoek, casting a golden hue through the floor-to-ceiling windows of Charles Mvula's luxurious villa. The view was breathtaking, but BK wasn't here for the scenery. He stood on the balcony, phone pressed to his ear, listening intently.

BK

One year ago when I came home and I met Lisa I wanted to get back at Pedro and I needed to find a way on how to so when I heard and saw he was in a relationship bi knew I guy it my xweapon to use his woman againist him 2 years later, Lisa still naive and think I'm her friend.

So here I am ready to finish my plans with my father we will take them out of business and we will take over.

At the the villa

Charles's voice came through the line, calm and calculated.

Charles: "He's still breathing, BK. That's a problem."

BK: "I know, but I've been planting seeds. Lisa's already doubting him."

Charles: "Seeds aren't enough. You want what's his? You take it. The casino is the heart of their operations. We ruin it, we ruin him."

BK smirked, stepping back inside.

BK: "I've got a guy. He owes me big. He can plant the drugs. Pedro gets arrested, the headlines destroy his image, and we take over the narrative."

Charles: "Good. Do it clean. No fingerprints. And once he's out of the way—permanently—I'll deal with the rest of the Smiths."

BK: "And Lisa?"

Charles paused.

Charles: "She's served her purpose. If she gets in the way, deal with it."

BK's jaw clenched slightly. He wasn't sure how far he was willing to go with Lisa. He liked her—more than he should. But power came first. Always.

BK: "Understood."

They hung up.

---

Two Days Later – Pedro's Casino

The casino was buzzing with life, people laughing, cards shuffling, chips clinking. Pedro walked in through the back entrance, nodding at a few familiar faces. He hadn't slept well, but business had to keep moving.

Then—chaos.

Police swarmed the lobby, guns drawn. Pedro's heart dropped.

Officer: "Pedro Smith, you are under arrest for possession of illegal narcotics."

Pedro: "What the hell?!"

He didn't resist, too shocked to speak as they cuffed him and marched him out in front of the flashing lights and media cameras. Headlines were already spinning before he even reached the station.

---

Lisa's Apartment

Lisa's phone exploded with messages.

"Pedro arrested for drugs?"

"You sure your man is clean?"

She dropped her phone, heart pounding. She rushed to the TV, and there it was—Pedro being shoved into a police car.

Her phone buzzed again. BK.

BK (text): I told you he was hiding things. Are you okay? Want to talk?

She didn't respond.

---

48 Hours Later – Pedro's Apartment

Pedro was released. Cleared. His tech team had tracked the planted drugs to a security blind spot and traced the man who did it. It was one of BK's guys. But the damage had already been done.

Lisa showed up at his door.

Pedro opened, tired and bitter. She stepped in nervously.

Lisa: "Pedro… I saw the news. I had to come—"

He turned sharply.

Pedro: "Why? To check if I'm a drug dealer?"

Lisa: "No—I just,,, people are saying things and—"

Pedro (cutting her off): "People? You mean BK? Your friend?"

She went quiet.

Pedro: "You laughed with him. Gave him my business updates. My whereabouts. And I told you, Lisa, I told you he wasn't who he pretended to be."

Lisa: "Maybe if you didn't hide everything from me, I'd know who to trust!"

Pedro stared at her, pained.

Pedro: "You think I'm into human trafficking and drugs? Is that what you think of me?"

Lisa: "That's what people are saying."

Pedro: "No. That's what BK is saying. And you believed him."

Lisa: "At least he doesn't lie to me—unlike you!"

Pedro backed away, jaw clenched.

Pedro: "Well, congratulations. Maybe you should be with him then."

Lisa's eyes widened. "Pedro—"

Pedro: "I've had two rough days. I need to protect my family from your friend and his father. Close the door on your way out."

And with that, he walked into his room without giving her a chance to respond.

---

Lisa stood frozen.

Reality hit her like a brick. What had she done?

Was she the reason Pedro got arrested?

All those innocent questions BK asked. All that charm. All that laughter.

Was she… used?

She left the apartment quietly, guilt crashing over her in waves. Her heart was heavy—like a part of her had just shattered.
