Like Icarus he only desired to obtain the Sun, in that moment he saw a familiar face walk into the temple. Basil saw Joseph kneeling at the prayer section and he approached but temple servant informed him he could not go in while the prince prayed, Basil didn't bother them but went to sit at the garden. Joseph felt tremendous guilt over the death of Blue and he didn't know how to face him, Joseph finished his meditation and walked out to the garden hoping he could iron out their friendship. "She always looked at you no matter how much you ignored her, Blue only smiled with you. Do you want me to avenge her death....Red?" because blue had the name of a color the two boys decide to have names of colors, Joseph was named Red because of his middle name 'Mars' and Basil took the name Grey because of his grey colored eyes. The name Red brought fourth a flood of memories, memories of a golden friendship that lasted for over ten years. "You know there's nothing you can do about it, why even try?" Basil took him by the collar and raged out "How could you say that, i knew you were always cold to emotions but this.....you have crossed the line Red! Do you even see her as she was or did she annoy you the whole time?" Joseph said nothing amongst all the accusations then Basil hit his jaw with a heavy left hook that left him bleeding from the lips, in all this Joseph only pictured her face in their last moments. "ahhhhgg!" Joseph raged as he threw a punch back, "You don't know how it feels to watch.....I...I was powerless to save her, how do you think i felt in all that....iiyy was powerless and she gave up her own life to save mine." Joseph expressed with tears falling from his eyes but Basil struck him again, "Don't blame your weakness in the strength your enemy possessed, you used to be the greatest person i ever met but you changed ever since you came from Vaal Hoek. You even became a prince for all that, and you lost us both on that day." Basil walked away leaving Joseph crumbled on the grass, he was now truly alone. He picked himself up from the grass and dusted off a few blades before turning up his poker face, Joseph was only acting throughout the fight. In truth he wanted to part ways with Basil and protect him from the world he now lived in, and this broke his heart greatly although he didn't show it but he was hurt and alone. "There's things I've wanted to say to you but ill spare you the trouble and let you live" He spoke as he walked back into the temple and Tev was there waiting, "Are you sure you want things to end like that with him, you might never see him again" Tev asked Joseph but the prince just walked in and spoke "It is what it is now" and he headed over to the specially selected area for Royals.
Meanwhile, the Royal Court was a-buzz with with cameras and reporters to document the first gathering after the passing of the prime minister, all were there to capture the face of the Chief of Justice Romeo Serame. He wore an all black suit that afternoon, but his face did not show remorse towards then loss of his family and this had journalists questioning. Then someone screamed from the crowd gathered outside the Royal Court, "Even in loss he remains strong to protect the public, Romeo for prime minister!" then suddenly chants began to spread calling for Romeo to be the next Prime Minister of Bechuanaland, the king arrived to the commotion and he smiled "Even after loosing your family you continue to bite my heels....old friend" All ministers took their seats and the room grew quiet as Romeo took his seat below that of the King, just as he sat down murmurs grew loud throughout the great room. "His majesty the King shall now enter the Royal Court!" with that announcement all stood on their feet in reverence to his majesty. He walked in blazing with Uud and only those familiar with divine arts could clearly see it but to onlookers it was like a heavy presence they couldn't quite understand. "Chief of justice, you have my deepest condolences" the king spoke and closed their proximity to give him a hug, then he whispered into his ear "It really has to go this far for you to accept what happened back then, Once we were best of friends. Why cant things be like that again?" the words only skated on the icy heart of Romeo as he rebutted "We could have been brothers, but your greed killed us and her" and their final embrace dawned the breaking of a final thread as they parted. The King took his seat and the hall took its seat after him, "We are here to propose an emergency election as I've been made aware by the head secretary, the court seems torn on who should be elected but the public seems very sure....what say are you all?" the king asked his vassals and then the Minister of Finance conjected " Your majesty! the role of Prime minister is not the Royal seat thus only a unanimous vote of all court members will be taken as verdict not the wishful thinking of civilians. The king looked absolutely annoyed by the challenge of Pauline Moreki as she stated the fact, "Okay minister, why don't you point out our candidates so we can get it over with while you're at it just take the position of national speaker." The minister of Education teased. Sounds of laughter rang out in the hall and the National Speaker Malvin Thomamo announced "We only have one person standing for the position of Prime Minister as we speak, it is quite the surprise but it is Romeo Serame the Chief of Justice. If anyone wishes to stand for the position they should speak within the next thirty seconds..." he made the announcement and no one spoke for thirty seconds. The national speaker looked at the king as the time elapsed and he gestured for the proceedings to continue, "Since no one has stood up to oppose Mr. Romeo Serame's election should i take it we also have a unanimous vote to place him as prime minister?" the national speaker questioned. The minister of financed raised her hand to show opposition of the unanimous vote, Romeo smirked inwardly as he expected there would be delay but it was all perfect for riling up the public "You can chose to run from it or avoid it, but revenge arrives all the same" Romeo thought as he observed the situation in the court room. They were all playing at the hands of the schemer and none of them knew it, after long debates the king finally stepped in "I invoke Royal Law to override your unanimous vote law, if majority of the court wants Romeo as the Prime Minister then so shall it be. Moreover he must recommend a judge to take the position he vacates, all of this must be officialized in paper before Wednesday because on that day we will hold the coronation of the crown prince." and his words became law as he spoke, none dared to oppose the king after all the only reason they even have a parliamentary system is because he allowed it.
This was the last act of good will for a long lost friend and a rival, the king knew Romeo is a schemer and so he didn't plan on watching any longer after seeing that the Terror Square was pulling strings in Bechuanaland. The king stood up to leave the ministers with their trifling discussions and Romeo followed him out, "It seems even the high throne can see below its feet" the king smiled at Romeo's provocation and responded "Even a giant will notice an ant if it continuously bit his heels". The high priest came up from behind seeing their rivalry begin to emit sparks, "If two heads of a snake begin to fight then it will be torn apart, your majesty i completed the report on your son.....it is as you expected him to be." then Romeo left them both with a word, "Greed that knows no limit will devour the world" and the king seemed to slightly lose his temper and the high priest stopped him from publicly assaulting the Chief of Justice. "I shall see you at the coronation Rom!" the king announced in front of all the press and cameras.
