On a dimly lit street, a fiery orange-haired teen, Scott, was engaged in a fierce battle against a group of muscular men. His bandaged arms moved with incredible speed and precision, striking his opponents with formidable power. Despite being outnumbered, Scott dispatched the men with ease, his reflexes and speed proving to be unbeatable.
Just as the last opponent fell to the ground, a teenager with facial piercings, Jin Jang, appeared on the scene, a chuckle escaping his lips. "Need a hand?" he questioned, eyeing Scott's handiwork.
Scott shot Jin a sideways glance, a hint of amusement dancing on his lips. "Shut the fuck up, Jin Jang. You and I know you can't beat anyone without analyzing their fighting style first."
Jin's expression turned mock-offended, a vein bulging on his forehead. "Hey, don't forget we went through that hellish training together!"
Just then, a tiny voice piped up from Jin's shoulder. "Yay! Go, Uncle Scott!" Crystal, a small, cute girl, exclaimed, pumping her fist in the air.
Scott's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled at Crystal. "Thanks, Crystal! Don't forget, I'm really strong! No one can defeat me... except your brother, of course." He added the last part with a nervous smile, remembering the grueling training sessions Shinsei had put them through.
Shinsei's training had been brutal, with Scott and Jin suffering defeat after defeat at his hands. Yet, despite the beatings, they knew Shinsei was holding back. It wasn't until they fought others that they realized how much their skills had improved.
As they walked, Scott recalled Shinsei's instructions: "If you want to increase your rank in the gang, you need to prove your worth. Capture small gangs and recruit people with potential." The first part was easy enough, but finding talented fighters in Gangbuk proved to be a challenge. Shinsei's standards were high, and few fighters met his criteria.
Jin Jang nodded toward the purple-haired kid sitting on the ground, his eyes fixed on them with disinterest. "Haaa... Let's just deal with that kid over there before heading back. I'm sure Hope and Ivan are having a much worse time than us."
Scott's eyes sparkled with curiosity as he approached the purple-haired kid. "He seems interesting..." Scott said, licking his lips.
"Don't you care about your guys getting beat up like this?" Scott questioned, raising an eyebrow. However, the purple-haired kid waved it off nonchalantly.
"Could care less about trash," he replied, his voice cold and detached, without even sparing a glance at the defeated men.
Scott's expression turned thoughtful. "That's cold... Anyway, I'd like you to surrender your shark loan business and come under me—I mean, add your business to my gang."
As Scott finished his sentence, he rolled the bandages on his arm tightly, expecting a response. However, when he turned to face the purple-haired kid, he was nowhere to be found.
"He's behind you!" Jin Jang exclaimed, his eyes straining to keep up with the kid's incredible speed.
Scott spun around, his eyes widening as he realized the kid had moved behind him in the blink of an eye. Compared to Shinsei's ghost-like speed, which none of them could follow, this kid's movements seemed almost slow like he was walking. Almost.
Scott barely blocked the strike, his hands protecting his face from the impact. However, the purple-haired guy's knee connected with his forearm, sending a shockwave of pain through his arm.
"Shit, that stung!" Scott cursed, stumbling backward as his arms throbbed with pain. The visible redness on his arms testified to the force of the strike.
Jin Jang's eyes narrowed as he observed the purple-haired guy's movements. "This guy, he's not like the rest!" Jin exclaimed, his voice laced with a mix of surprise and caution.
In a flash, the purple-haired guy moved swiftly, his footsteps barely making a sound. He reached Scott's blind spot and launched himself upward, attempting to strike Scott's neck. The attack was swift, happening in mere seconds.
Jin Jang's trained eyes picked up on the subtleties of the purple-haired guy's movements. He realized that the guy's actions weren't the result of rigorous training but rather pure instinct. The purple-haired guy relied on his gut and intuition, allowing him to move with a fluidity that was both impressive and unsettling.
Jin Jang's eyes narrowed as he watched the fight, his mind racing with strategic thoughts. "He's one of those I hate, the blanks..." he muttered to himself.
In Jin Jang's experience, "blanks" referred to individuals whose attacks were unpredictable and lacked a discernible pattern. They didn't follow traditional fighting styles or techniques, instead relying on pure instinct to guide their movements.
This made them formidable opponents for someone like Jin Jang, who relied on observation and analysis to gain the upper hand. Without a visible pattern to their fighting style, Jin Jang found it challenging to anticipate their next move.
However, he also knew that "blanks" weren't entirely unpredictable. If an opponent could force them into a repetitive or predictable situation, they might be able to create a limited set of choices for the "blank" to react to, effectively creating a temporary pattern.
Jin Jang's expression turned worried as he watched Scott struggle against the purple-haired guy, Guu Iljin. "But Scott isn't even holding up well..." Jin muttered, concerned that his friend might be outmatched.
Despite his worries, Jin couldn't help but smile as he watched Scott weather the storm of attacks. "Still, he's not exactly done..." Jin said, confident that Scott had a few tricks up his sleeve.
Guu Iljin sneered at Scott, his limbs flailing wildly as he attacked. "Hmph, all that talk and now you can't even get a hit on me!"
Scott chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "What's your name, kid?" he asked, his question catching Guu off guard.
Guu raised an eyebrow, momentarily confused. "Guu Iljin... Why do you ask?" he replied, before snarling, "Why? Because you're about to die!"
Scott dodged Guu's next attack, his left leg shifting back before propelling him forward. Guu, anticipating another attack, raised his arms and took a step back. But Scott had already closed the distance, appearing before Guu in an instant and aiming for a blind spot.
