Before she could say anything else, Ethan approached, his tall figure looming over the booth.
"Ready to go?" he asked, his voice calm but laced with an undertone that made Sophia's heart beat a little faster.
Jaime shot Sophia a look, as if to say, This is your chance. Sophia bit her lip, then nodded. "Yeah, thanks. I think it's time."
Ethan gave her a small nod before glancing at Jaime. "I'll drop you both off. It's late."
Jaime, ever the troublemaker, flashed a grin. "You're just trying to get more screen time, huh? Alright, alright. I'll let you take the spotlight, Mr. CEO."
Ethan didn't even flinch at her teasing, just turned to walk out of the bar with both of them in tow.
Ethan held open the passenger door for both of them. Jaime slid into the front seat with a wink, while Sophia hesitated just a second longer before climbing in beside him, and the car started moving. The city lights blurred by the window, flashing past in a rhythm that felt oddly soothing. Ethan's driver Jack drove in silence and for a moment Ethan stilled as if to weigh his words before speaking, his tone casual but with an edge that hinted at the seriousness lurking beneath.
"You okay?" His voice was steady, like he was genuinely concerned. " I promise they won't bother you anymore, okay love ? ."
Sophia glanced at him, trying to gauge his expression. What did this CEO really want from her? Yes she had agreed to give this a chance because she was sure that when this novelty is over for him he would be done with her
The car fell into silence again
"Have I said anything to offend you" he voice cut through
Jaime whose been awfully silent spoke up
