Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Drawing a Grand Vision for Mobius. Creating an Ideal Future.

After finishing his explanation, Chang Yuan looked at Mobius with intense focus.

"So, what does all of this have to do with me? I don't care whether they live or die."

After hearing Chang Yuan's detailed explanation, Mobius remained uninterested.

Whether those council members lived or died made little difference to her.

"But if I want to control them all, my current position isn't enough to summon them. You, Dr. Mobius, can do that."

Here, Chang Yuan finally revealed his true purpose.

Mobius now fully understood what Chang Yuan was planning.

He wanted to use her status to gather all the council members in one place and then eliminate them in one fell swoop.

"Why do you think I would help you? If I report you, I might get more funding."

Mobius looked at Chang Yuan with interest as she asked this.

"Because I know you dislike them too. But more importantly, I believe you're not that kind of person, Dr. Mobius."

"...Don't act like you know me so well."

Staring into Chang Yuan's eyes, Mobius spoke in a cold tone.

Chang Yuan wasn't surprised by this. After all, it was well-known that Mobius's words were the hardest substance in the Honkai world.

She was a person who was tough on the outside but soft on the inside.

"Dr. Mobius, I will now explain the essence of the Honkai to you. In return, I hope you will help me."

"Go ahead. If what you say is useful, I might consider helping you."

Propping her chin on her hand, Mobius watched Chang Yuan with a skeptical expression.

She wanted to see what kind of grand claims he would make.

"Alright, the essence of the Honkai is..."

Over the next ten minutes, Chang Yuan detailed everything he knew about the Honkai from the original story.

From the Imaginary Tree to the Cocoon of Finality, and even the fact that it was created by a higher civilization. However, he chose to keep Elysia's identity a secret for now.

After all, Elysia hadn't yet gained everyone's trust, and revealing her identity might cause unnecessary suspicion.

After listening to Chang Yuan's explanation, Mobius's initially mocking expression turned serious.

Chang Yuan didn't disturb her as she processed the information.

After about three or four minutes, Mobius finally spoke again. "Is everything you said true?"

"I can stake my life on it. At least 99% of it is true. The remaining 1% is because nothing in science is absolute."

Facing Mobius's second round of questioning, Chang Yuan remained firm.

"...This world is truly full of disasters."

After hearing Chang Yuan's explanation of the Honkai's essence, Mobius couldn't help but feel a sense of despair about the future.

But she wouldn't back down because of it.

"So, you were the ones who took the Second Herrscher's core?"

"Correct. I gave it to a genius, and she used it to create the first Divine Key. That Divine Key is now in Elysia's hands."

"...Truly a genius. With your help, the Divine Keys were created ahead of time. So, what are our chances of defeating the Herrscher of the End?"

Hearing this question, Chang Yuan fell silent for a long time before answering. "I don't know. It might still end up like the future I saw. At best, more humans might survive."

Chang Yuan then looked at Mobius. "That's why I've shared many future insights with you. I hope you can use them as a foundation to create new possibilities."

"...Tsk, suddenly being burdened with the task of saving the world. As expected, humans must adapt and evolve, or they'll be left behind."

Rubbing her temples, Mobius sounded somewhat frustrated.

Before knowing the true nature of the Honkai, she could afford to relax a little, believing that humanity could eventually overcome it.

But now, knowing the truth, the pressure had multiplied. Even without considering whether higher civilizations would interfere, the Cocoon of Finality alone was enough to cause them endless trouble.

"That's why, Dr. Mobius, I need your help. Only by pooling the resources of the entire world and uniting humanity can we have a chance to defeat the Honkai."

"...Fine. I'll arrange a meeting with all the council members. What happens after that is up to you."

Mobius agreed to this small favor without hesitation.

However, she only promised to help him gather the council members. What happened afterward would be entirely up to Chang Yuan.

"That's all I need. Thank you, Dr. Mobius. By the way, I also believe that humanity should evolve, but it should be a controlled evolution.

If we lose our humanity in the process, it won't be evolution—it'll be the extinction of humanity and the birth of a new species."

After saying this, Chang Yuan turned and left.

Once he was gone, Mobius couldn't help but mutter to herself.

"Such a presumptuous guy, thinking he knows me so well. Hmph."

After a moment of contemplation, Mobius began thinking about how to gather all the council members under a plausible pretext.

Meanwhile, Chang Yuan felt a sense of relief as he walked away. They had a bright future ahead.

By removing the cancers and uniting the world's resources to fully support Mobius, Vill-V, and Dr. Mei, they might be able to create a miracle.

Perhaps Elysia wouldn't have to sacrifice herself.

Even if they couldn't defeat the Herrscher of the End in the end, they had to ensure that Dr. Mei and the others could uncover the essence of Elysia's Herrscher of Origin authority.

Then, they could sacrifice themselves in her place, creating humanity for the Herrschers of the next era.

"Mobius, I hope you act quickly. Although it's just a few days, every moment is crucial when facing the future."

As he walked, Chang Yuan muttered to himself.

Until a hand landed on his shoulder.

"Yuan, what are you thinking about? I called you several times, but you didn't respond."

"Huh? Oh, Elysia, it's you."

Following the hand on his shoulder, Chang Yuan saw a pink-haired girl pouting at him, clearly unhappy.

The distinctive pink hair left no doubt about her identity.

"So, what were you thinking about? I called you so many times, but you didn't answer."

Now she was a little upset. If Chang Yuan didn't coax her, she wouldn't let it go.

"I was thinking, if we defeat the Honkai in the future, where should we go? Should we settle down somewhere or continue traveling?"
