Chapter 56 - Troublesome Jōnin Instructor

Yūki was jealous of Itachi's talent, so he kept blocking Itachi's promotion to Chunin, but pretended to be nice to Itachi on the surface.

To participate in the Chunin Exam, the Jonin instructor must "recommend" the team first, and then the team members need to sign the application form.

If the Jonin instructor doesn't want the Genins in their team to advance, it will be a major problem.

Itachi was eventually promoted because Danzo wanted to turn Itachi into his pawn.

Danzo had sent someone to investigate Itachi's Jonin instructor, and found that he was a narrow-minded guy.

Immediately afterward, Danzo suggested to Hiruzen that Itachi be promoted exceptionally, without going through the old process.

Yūki said, "You must be Uchiha Kiyoshi, I hope you are not like the other Uchiha, disobedient."

Yūki glanced at Kiyoshi, obviously with a bad impression of the Uchiha.

Kiyoshi nodded slightly, saying nothing.

Seeing this, Yūki asked them to briefly introduce themselves, and then took Kiyoshi and others to take on a mission.

Genins can only accept D-rank and C-rank mission, often starting from D-rank.

D-rank missions do not require combat, it's usually just about doing some chores.

The mission that Yūki took on was to help look after the store.

Kiyoshi and the other two were responsible for cleaning and buying things, while Yūki went to repair the leaky roof.

"This is the mission."

Asuma went from excitement at the beginning to boredom now.

Kurenai said, "We're just at the starting phase. We certainly won't be a mission that requires fighting with ninjas."

Kurenai looked at the books on the bookshelf, and occasionally when she saw something she was interested in, she would take it out and flip through a few pages.

After all, this is a bookstore that sells some books that are popular with the youth.

"A customer is here." Kiyoshi said.

In his opinion, this mission was much better than finding lost pets and helping to look after children.

When he has nothing to do, he can sit and read through ninjutsu scrolls.

"Oh, it's you."

Facing him was a red-haired girl, with a hairpin clipped on her red hair.

"Kushina."

Kiyoshi put down the Fire Release ninjutsu scroll and greeted Kushina.

This store is located in a relatively central location in the village, just within the barrier that binds Kushina.

Kushina said, "Are you working here?"

A familiar figure walked up.

Her red hair shimmered slightly in the sunlight. A hairpin was pinned in her hair, and a hint of fatigue was hidden in her eyes.

"No, I'm on a mission."

Kiyoshi pointed to the headband on his forehead, and said, "I'm already a ninja, and now I'm here to perform a mission."

Kushina said, "Kiyoshi, I see that you are a genius."

Kushina clenched her small fist and waved it in the air, seemingly wanting to express how powerful she was.

Kiyoshi asked, "Kushina, are you here to buy a book?"

Kiyoshi chuckled and walked to the door.

Kushina said, "Well, I've been a little bored recently, so I came to see if there are any good ones."

Kushina stopped waving her small fist, and disappointment visibly appeared on her beautiful face.

She can only move within the scope of the barrier every day, making her feel a little breathless.

Especially recently, Minato has become so busy that he has less and less time to accompany her.

Kushina felt that she had been forgotten.

"Come in and choose."

Kiyoshi took Kushina to the section where new books were placed for Kushina to choose from.

Kushina frowned, holding her chin in her hand, looking tangled.

"This one is good."

Kiyoshi took out a book with illustrations from the shelf.

The cover was painted with colorful illustrations, which was very attractive.

The cannon Kushina didn't seem to be very interested in reading.

Naruto's character was inherited from Kushina, and Naruto also didn't like reading.

Kiyoshi didn't think that Kushina, who was looking around for something to pass the time on a whim, would like reading.

So, he chose a suitable book while keeping that information in consideration.

"There are so many pictures."

Kushina opened it and found that it was something like a picture book.

There were very few words on it, and it was mostly covered with illustrations.

"Then I want this one."

She raised her head and shook the book in her hand.

"Okay."

Kiyoshi nodded, packed the book and put it in a bag.

When he handed the bag to Kushina, a prompt sounded from the Trait panel.

"You have triggered a new trait: [Legendary Nine-Tailed Fox (White)]."

[Legendary Nine-Tailed Fox (White)]

[Requirements: Initial physical contact with Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.]

[Progress: 10%]

[Effect: Improves the vitality of the physical cells, increasing the chakra's ability to recover injuries by 5%.]

[Note: Can be upgraded.]

'Does touching a finger count?'

Looking at Kushina holding the bag in front of him, Kiyoshi became thoughtful.

Just now, his finger had accidentally touched Kushina's hand, and the trait panel had reacted.

Kiyoshi said, "Kushina, this is my first successful business, thank you."

Kiyoshi suddenly held Kushina's hand with both hands, as if he was very happy.

"Ah... is that so?"

Kushina didn't think much of Kiyoshi's actions.

It's just that Kiyoshi held her hand for too long.

Just when Kushina wanted to remind him, Kiyoshi let go of her hand.

"Who is that person?"

Asuma turned his head and looked at Kiyoshi shaking hands and talking with a red-haired woman.

He felt that the other party's red hair was very familiar, as if he had heard his father mention it.

"I don't know." Kurenai shook her head.

Almost all Uchiha clansmen have black hair, which means that this woman is not from the Uchiha clan.

"Thank you, you really helped me a lot."

The shop owner, who had been out for almost a whole day, finally returned to the store, and Yūki also repaired the leaky roof.

"In that case, the mission is complete, let's go back."

Yūki wiped the water off his body, and saw Kiyoshi and Kushina.

"Uchiha Kiyoshi..."

Yūki frowned slightly.

He remembered that this woman's name was Uzumaki Kushina, a descendant of the Uzumaki clan.

It seemed that she rarely had contact with outsiders.

He had only seen Minato looking for Kushina. But this woman does fit his aesthetics.

"The Uchiha are so popular?"

A sense of jealousy rose in Yūki's heart.

"Kiyoshi, we should go back and hand over the mission, don't waste time."

Yūki tidied up his messy hairstyle that was wet by the water, revealing a smile that he thought was handsome, and walked over.

"Hello, I'm Minazuki Yūki."

"Oh, hello."

Kushina nodded, feeling very strange.

This man's name was good, but his appearance was... not very good.

Kushina said, "Kiyoshi, you are going to hand over the mission? Then I'll go first."

Kushina didn't want to have too much contact with outsiders, and the high-rank officials of Konoha didn't allow it either.

She only took the initiative to contact Kiyoshi because he had the same experience as herself, otherwise she wouldn't be so idle.

After Kushina finished speaking, she quickly paid the money and left with the bag containing the book.

She had also performed missions but it was before she had become the Nine-Tailed Jinchuriki.

After becoming the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, not only could she not go out at will, but she also had to worry about the bewitchment of the Nine-Tails in her body all the time.

Yūki looked at Kiyoshi, his lips opened and closed, but he didn't say anything.

He didn't dare to openly oppose the Uchiha.
