The answer was coming from a place of pride, this much Rose knew. Mei Mei's pride had always been bigger than everything else about her. She would not return to the Jun family ancestral home until she had something to show that she had succeeded. It did not matter how small that something was, as long as she did not look like a loser.
Rose poured wine in her glass and gulped it all down. "Fine, I won't push because I know that no matter what I say, you will not be moved. Tell me what your plan is because I am giving you a maximum of half a year before dragging you back home with or without your consent. You have to be home for the next Lunar new year."
Half a year. Mei Mei thought about the deadline her sister was giving her. She wondered if it would be enough time for her camp business to show success. If she wanted to meet that deadline, she needed to work hard.
