Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Flying Saurus

The last Crisis, the Flying Saurus, resides in the radio tower.

It is the only Crisis that moves constantly, scouting the area and looking for any potential prey.

Blaze equips the Tattered Cloak and gets to a high building, observing it.

A poor pair of Awakeners is being targeted by it. The Flying Saurus flies high and dives down at an immense speed, using its steel beak to thrust at the targets on the ground.

The pair of Awakeners is smart. They hide inside a small building to avoid its attack. However, they are stuck there.

Every time they get out of the door, the Flying Saurus attacks, forcing them to retreat inside the building.

This situation has repeated many times. Finally, the pair seems to give up and stay inside the building for good. No longer try to run away.

They probably find that there is no reason to risk their life to flee. There aren't any dangers lurking around anyway.

All of the Hollows were massacred by Blaze, making the Void so much safer than it should be.

Without him, the amount of death should be much greater.

"The Liberty Sons probably will attack the Flying Saurus soon.

They may regroup with Henry and look for some more help to guarantee killing the Crisis.

There isn't much time left for me."

Time is not a luxury Blaze has. The more he waits, the more danger Alyson may be in.

"It is time to end this nightmare."

Blaze uses the Grappling Hook and gets on the scaffolding of the radio tower. They are renovating it at the moment, so several parts are under construction.

The Flying Saurus flies in a circle around the tower, its sharp eyes scanning the ground, looking for any potential prey.

The Awakened wants to kill it for its Core.

The Crisis also wants to kill Awakeners to become stronger.

It is the same relationship between the two. Both are the predator and the prey.

Blaze raises the Destruction Wand and starts charging the black beam. He is in invisible mode so the Crisis doesn't notice him.

Without anyone bothering Blaze, he can use all his power to end the fight quickly.

In the horizon, a small gleam of light is flickering.

There is daytime in the Void after all, and it is coming. Blaze needs to kill it quickly before the sunlight neutralizes the Tattered Cloak's invisibility.

The Destruction Beam shoots out, howling in the air and bolting at the Flying Saurus.

It hears the beam immediately and rolls in the air, dodging the attack.

However, the beam follows it, turning sharply in the air and piercing through its right wing.

The Flying Saurus loses its high altitude and falls down a few meters before gaining balance again. It quickly darts away in the sky, staying away from the area it was attacked at.

The beam didn't neutralize its flying capability. Only injured it.

Blaze's temples ache a little. The homing ability of the Destruction Beam is not omnipotent. It requires Blaze's concentration and mental capacity.

Staying awake all night and experiencing fights after fights have really hindered his mentality. Using the Destruction Beam hasn't shown its drawbacks before, but it is now.

The Flying Saurus flies higher, trying to locate its attacker. It has become more alert, ready to fight.

Blaze uses the Grappling Hook to move to another side of the radio tower.

A little headache won't stop him. He charges the Destruction Beam again.

Thirty seconds pass, and another black laser shoots out, aiming at the wings of the Crisis again.

The Flying Saurus notices immediately this time. Instead of running away, it moves out of the way of the beam and dives down to the source of the attack, Blaze's position.

Blaze is still fused with darkness, and the Flying Saurus can only see the start of the black beam and nothing else.

This confuses it a little bit but doesn't stop it from attacking.

Blaze uses the Grappling Hook to move out of its trajectory. The Flying Saurus breaks through the scaffolding, destroying the platform.

The Destruction Beam disappears, no longer chasing the Crisis.

Another limitation of the Destruction Beam is revealed. If Blaze moves from his original position, the black beam will lose its power and chasing ability.

He uses it several times but has never encountered this issue. Purely because no enemies were able to counterattack him.

In the fight with Nocturnal Animals, he stood far away, preventing them from attacking his position.

This is not a problem for the Flying Saurus with its flight ability and immense speed.

The Snake is gigantic. The Quarterback is both tough and quick.

Now the Flying Saurus is cunning.

It may be the hardest Crisis to attack out of all three.

However, Blaze already has a plan to circumvent this.

He jumps off from the radio tower and moves into a secluded building. Purple energy pours out of the shadow figure.

William once again appears in this world.

"Master!" He kneels down immediately before Blaze.

"There's a Crisis outside with the ability to fly. I need you to lure it."

"I understand, Master."

Blaze steps back and fuses into darkness. He gets to the second floor of the building and charges the wand again.

This time he charges the Thunderbolt with Force Shocker, not the Destruction Beam. The blue light neutralizes One with Shadow and reveals Blaze to the world.

Comparing the charged Thunderbolt and Destruction Beam, the charged Thunderbolt has more destructive power, but it cannot be used with the Tattered Cloak.

If Blaze uses it normally, the Flying Saurus for sure will notice the attack and dodge it. Without a homing ability, there is absolutely no chance for it to hit the Crisis.

That is where William comes in.

William D'Angelo gets out of the building, his feet are set ablaze, drawing all the attention to him in this darkness.

The Flying Saurus sees him, but it doesn't attack yet.

It flies around, looking for that invisible attacker from before.

"Smart bastard..." Blaze mumbles.

Now is the waiting game.

Blaze has to bet on its animalistic instinct and hope the Flying Saurus will attack William eventually.

The Crisis is careful. It doesn't attack William at all.

The former leader of the Nocturnal Animals understands this and is also thinking about a solution to this problem.

He is now a slave to whatever that being may be. Failed to help it in its course, and what's waiting for him is a fate worse than death.

"Alright! I have nothing to lose anymore."

Except my sanity.

William flies up and starts shooting fireballs at the Crisis.

His fireballs fly in the sky in a curve, trying to hit the Crisis in the sky.

The range of his Pyro Dash is horrible, so William has to kick the fireball up high, hoping it will drop onto the Flying Saurus.

The Crisis easily dodges these slow raining fireballs. They cannot hit it, but it is a huge nuisance.

William relentlessly throws more fireballs with his kicks. None of them hit the Crisis.

But it is slowly and slowly approaching William. It seems like the provoke works.

The Flying Saurus gets closer bit by bit. It is still wary of the invisible attacker, but that beam hasn't showed up for quite a while now, and the tiny human down there really gets on its nerves.

Finally, it decides to end the miserable life of the fiery ant.

The Flying Saurus dives down from above, air screeching on the two sides of its wing.

"Haha! Come to me, you stupid bird!"

William turns around and runs for his life. He has moved quite a bit away from the building where Blaze is hiding and intends to get back there.

The Flying Saurus bolts through the air, leaving a blurry afterimage behind its path.

In the blink of an eye, it appears behind William, only dozens of meters apart from him.

"Great work, my slave!"

The giant white lightning shoots out from the second floor of the building, obliterating the wall around it and reaching the Flying Saurus.
