The moment the battle began, Siebold 's entire demeanor changed. If he was as calm and composed as a still lake while cooking, then in battle, he was like a raging ocean—fierce and unrelenting.
"For the appetizer—Water Pulse!" Siebold commanded with a sharp wave of his right hand.
"Blastoise!"
Blastoise let out a deep roar as the twin cannons on its shell began to glow a brilliant blue. In an instant, two surging waves of Water Pulse shot forth, cascading like relentless tides.
The high-speed Water Pulse rushed toward Ceruledge. Its piercing violet eyes narrowed, and the ghostly flames on its arm-blades flared with a chilling intensity.
Even as the attack closed in, Ceruledge remained motionless. It didn't react—right up until the moment Water Pulse was about to strike. Then, in a flash, both of its blazing swords slashed forward—cutting through the oncoming waves!
The sharp hiss of steam filled the air as fire and water collided, but the attack was severed cleanly, as effortlessly as slicing through tofu.
Droplets from the dissipated Water Pulse splattered onto Ceruledge's armor, releasing wisps of white steam.
Siebold showed no signs of discouragement. Instead, he swiftly gave his next command: "Withdraw—then Rapid Spin!"
Blastoise instantly retracted its limbs and head into its shell. Its defensive power rose, and then, like a spinning top, it whirled at high speed, charging straight toward Ceruledge.
"Swords Dance—"
Ceruledge's fiery blades wove through the air in a seamless, impenetrable pattern. Embers flew as its blades clashed against Blastoise's spinning shell, and with each deflection, its attack power surged even higher.
Without needing any further instruction, Ceruledge's eyes flashed with eerie purple light. A sharp, echoing screech rang out as a crescent-shaped psychic blade, shimmering in shades of violet and pink, erupted from its sword.
The Phantom Force attack struck with immense force, sending Blastoise's shell skidding across the battlefield. A deep groove was left on its surface.
"Bla…stoise…"
As the dust settled, Blastoise emerged from its shell, its expression growing more serious.
If not for the boosted defense from Withdraw, that last hit wouldn't have been so easy to withstand.
Even through its sturdy shell, it could feel the sting on its back. This opponent… was purely built for offense.

Siebold felt as though something had caught in his throat, momentarily robbing him of speech.
Yes… this was exactly what he was searching for.
Beyond Kalos Champion Diantha, countless powerful Trainers stood at the peaks of the world, waiting for his challenge.
Clutching his chest, he could feel his heart pounding wildly. "What an exhilarating feeling… Rain Dance!"
Blastoise let out a thunderous roar. In the blink of an eye, storm clouds gathered overhead, blocking out the once-clear sky. Raindrops, thick and heavy, began to fall, creating a rhythmic downpour.
Ceruledge's body sizzled with steam, and it frowned slightly. This kind of weather… definitely wasn't ideal. The flow of Fire-type energy felt sluggish, obstructed—like a dam holding back a river. It was incredibly frustrating.
"Haha! It's been a long time since I've seen a Rain Dance with such overwhelming presence!" Kofu Said
Poliwag gazed up in admiration, dreaming of the day it could wield such power.
"But we're not done yet!"
Under Kofu's puzzled gaze, Siebold adjusted the scarf around his chest, revealing a Key Stone adorned with a swirling DNA pattern.
His voice was steady, resolute.
"It seems I can't take the advantage in this battle without using it."
Kai's pupils contracted.
Here it comes!
This was his first time witnessing Mega Evolution in the real world.
Siebold clasped the scarf embedded with the Key Stone, his eyes filled with unwavering determination.
"Blastoise—Mega Evolve!"
In an instant, four streams of prismatic light burst from between Siebold 's fingers, forming a bridge of energy that resonated with the Mega Stone on Blastoise's forehead.
A dazzling evolutionary glow engulfed Blastoise's body.
Kofu stood frozen for a moment, and then—his jaw dropped as if he had just witnessed the impossible.
Wait… Blastoise can evolve again?!
But there was no time for questions. Kai and Ceruledge's gazes remained locked on the transforming Blastoise, fully aware that the upcoming battle was about to get exponentially more difficult.
As the radiant glow faded, the newly evolved Mega Blastoise was revealed.
Its arms now bore two additional shell-mounted cannons, each housing a powerful water blaster. The twin cannons on its back had merged into a single, colossal artillery piece—so massive that it extended beyond Mega Blastoise's own head.
Its frame had grown even bulkier, its limbs thicker and more powerful. Now, without a doubt, it was the ultimate living cannon!
"Water Pulse—fire!"
Mega Blastoise's twin arm-cannons locked onto their target, while the massive cannon on its back took aim as well.
A surging torrent of water gathered within the barrels. Then, with the force of a mortar strike, three powerful streams of Water Pulse roared forth!
The water torrents cascaded down like a crushing waterfall—far beyond the power of its pre-Mega Evolution attacks.
Kai knew better than to let Ceruledge take a direct hit.
"Phantom Force—now!"
A shimmering portal opened beneath Ceruledge, swallowing it whole just as the devastating Water Pulse crashed down.
BOOM!
The battlefield shook as the relentless waves carved a crater into the ground where Ceruledge had once stood.
A split-second later, Ceruledge reappeared behind Mega Blastoise, its flaming swords slashing down in a deadly arc!
CLANG!
Mega Blastoise reacted with lightning speed, pivoting in an instant to block with its reinforced shell-arm cannons.
But even as it defended, the giant cannon on its back was already charging up another Water Pulse.
Sensing the imminent threat, Ceruledge didn't hesitate. It pushed off with both blades, creating distance. Flames surged wildly along its twin swords as it slashed forward with full force!
Blastoise's Water Pulse and Ceruledge's Bitter Blade collided, sending a thick cloud of steam billowing into the air.
The battlefield was momentarily obscured, the only indication of the ongoing struggle being the clash of attacks echoing through the mist.
Moments later, the steam began to clear.
Ceruledge stood, breathing heavily, while Mega Blastoise loomed over it, appearing to hold the upper hand.
Kai's thoughts raced.
As expected… under these conditions—Rain Dance, Water-type advantage against Fire, and Mega Evolution—Ceruledge was struggling against an Elite Four ace at full power.
If this were Luxray, taking down Mega Blastoise in its current form wouldn't be an issue.
But Ceruledge…
It was time to bring out the power of Terastallization.
