Forsyx started running head-on toward the group of five goblins.
"Ghhhh!"
Two goblins at the front screamed and rushed toward him with maces in their hands, while the other three ran to the side, trying to target him from behind with their daggers.
Instead of backing down, Forsyx increased his speed, willingly falling into their trap.
Just when he was about to clash, he tilted his body to dodge the mace and stabbed his knife into the goblin's head.
Other goblins rushed in from the back with a dagger in their hand, while the second one with a mace aimed at his vitals.
He pulled the dead body forward and, in the next moment, switched to the green hook snake.
The falling body came into the path of the mace while he easily dodged the three dagger strikes.
Thud!!!
The big mace hit the goblin's body.
In the same instant, he sprang from the dead body to the mace-wielding goblin, and the dead body flew back from the hit.
"Ahhh!"
The mace goblin didn't even realize as he slithered up to his chest.
He mumbled, "Switch to human."
The next moment, he clung to the small goblin with its neck in his hand.
Not wasting a moment, he twisted its head in an instant.
Crunch!
He felt the bones crunching. The other goblins came to their senses this time, and they tried to rush toward him.
He rolled down, picking up the first mace in the process, and swung it at the goblin's leg!
Thud!
The power behind his strike broke the first dagger goblin's leg, while the second just fell to the ground.
Still, the third one was inches away from his head when he switched to the white pipler bird.
With one flap of his wing, the little bird's body rolled over the dagger, and in the next instant, his massive fist landed on the goblin's neck, ending its misery.
"Ahhhhh!"
The one with the broken leg started screaming while the last guy, who had just fallen, stared at him in fear.
He smiled at them and flicked the goblin's dagger straight into the skull of the second dagger goblin.
The first dagger goblin just lay there, limp.
After seeing the death of the last of his partners, and with its broken legs, it just tried to scream aloud.
But Forsyx already anticipated this.
He jumped on top of the goblin and started punching. Two good hits to the head and its neck broke, leading to its death.
Ding!
[You have killed the goblin!]
[You have killed the goblin!]
…
…
…
[You have leveled up!]
Forsyx just shook his shoulder and pulled the dagger out of the dead goblin.
Forsyx just shook his shoulder and pulled the dagger out of the dead goblin's hand, then started making minor cuts on their bodies.
After marking the four nearby goblins, he walked to the last one and did the same by pulling his butcher knife out of the goblin's skull.
As he stopped the last body from disintegrating, he took a deep breath.
This quick transformation strategy really required a lot of concentration on his part.
He shook his head and took a quick look around.
Because of all the commotion in the outer part of the forest, he had to go deeper into the forest.
After making sure there was no danger around, he pulled out the glass container and started draining blood from the goblins.
This was already the fifth group he had killed so far, and finally, even the last container got filled to the brim with greenish goblin blood.
He placed the last container back into his inventory, along with his knife, and sighed in relief.
He didn't want to take any risks, so he said, "Switch to the pipler bird."
The next second, his body transformed into that dumb white bird.
He looked around and flew to a random tree, away from the goblins' dead bodies.
He just stayed there while looking at his status to check if his recovery had started.
In Apex Online, all players have a passive recovery effect.
You just had to stay still in a place outside of war for that recovery effect to activate, or you had to use potions.
The good thing was that the Pipler bird template did not affect stamina, so he would have the same recovery effect as if he were in human form.
After staying still for around one minute, both his health points and mana started recovering.
After examining it for a few seconds, he realized it was still the same: 0.2 health per second and 0.1 mana per second.
In the current state, it would take around nine minutes for him to recover completely.
Kind of overpowered for a new player—it's just that he would need double the stamina points for each successive increase in recovery speed.
So, for him to double this recovery speed, he would need 10 stamina points (double his current 5 stamina).
Then, to increase it to 0.6, he would need 20 stamina points, then 40, and so on.
So investing in stamina only for recovery speed was not worth it, but yeah, it would increase the player's hidden stamina bar, which would allow him to work more without getting tired.
He just stayed there for a few minutes to recover his health.
The combination of snake and human was the best one he had for the close combat.
It was much better than the bird-human or rabbit-human combinations he had relied on in his past life.
The moment he recovered to full health, he flapped his wings and flew toward the village.
As he flew above the forest, he saw hundreds of wars going on between players.
It looked like things were also heating up in other chain quests.
Not wasting much time there, he flew directly to the butcher shop.
There was still a long line before the shop, but it was unlikely that any of them would be able to go much higher.
Even the requirement of the third quest was just 500 liters of blood—that's just 50 players at max.
Not thinking much, he switched back to his human form right before these players.
This time, the screams were a notch louder.
Some players even tried to talk to him, but he just walked into the slaughter section of the butcher shop.
He could not waste time on them, as the next would be the Elite Separator Quest, the nightmare of casual players: the fourth chain quest.
