Chapter 18 - Ch18 Forging A New Titan

The Mountain Base – Hours Later

The mountain base, a sprawling fortress of industry and military might, lay beneath a blanket of fog. Within its massive shipyards, engineers and workers moved tirelessly, their efforts focused on constructing the largest warship Wallonia had ever attempted to build.

Inside a dimly lit command chamber, Emperor Arthur and Chancellor Erich sat before a large holographic display, showing the skeletal frame of the incomplete warship.

Arthur leaned forward, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Arthur: "It's an impressive design… but I still hate the name."

Erich exhaled, leaning back in his chair.

Erich: "The original schematics called it 'Yamato'—a clear homage to Japan. But we're not Japanese, and naming it that would only cause confusion."

Arthur nodded, his eyes narrowing.

Arthur: "We need something that speaks of Wallonia's dominance… something that signifies power beyond the stars."

The room fell into a moment of silence before Erich suddenly smirked.

Erich: "Andromeda."

Arthur raised an eyebrow.

Arthur: "The Andromeda-class?"

Erich nodded.

Erich: "It fits. Andromeda—the name of a distant galaxy, something vast, beyond the reach of ordinary men. It symbolizes that this ship isn't just a super-dreadnought; it's a force capable of controlling the heavens."

Arthur's lips curled into a grin.

Arthur: "Perfect. The Andromeda-Class Super Dreadnought Space Battleship. It carries power not meant for the weak."

Challenges in Construction

Despite its grand name, the Andromeda was far from complete.

One of the biggest hurdles was its engine—originally designed by Japan in their old world, it was supposed to use a Wave Motion Engine Core, a piece of technology that could generate immense energy for propulsion and weaponry.

But there was a problem.

The original schematics for the Wave Motion Core had been lost, likely due to fragmented records when Wallonia was transported to Altaires.

Without the core blueprint, the most devastating feature of the Andromeda—the Dual Wave Motion Guns on the bow—was inoperable.

Arthur tapped his fingers against the table, scanning the engineering reports displayed on the holographic screen.

Arthur: "We can't rely on a missing technology. What's the alternative?"

A sharp voice broke through the silence.

Marshal Alexander Vaulfort, the chief overseer of Wallonia's space and naval development, stepped forward.

Vaulfort: "We've created a temporary subsidy, Your Majesty. Instead of a true Wave Motion Core, we've managed to develop a hybrid energy system that can sustain the Andromeda's propulsion and shields."

Erich narrowed his eyes.

Erich: "But no Wave Motion Guns?"

Vaulfort nodded reluctantly.

Vaulfort: "Not yet. The energy output isn't stable enough to fire them. If we attempted it now, the ship would likely self-destruct."

Arthur sighed.

Arthur: "Then the Andromeda is still incomplete."

Vaulfort folded his arms.

Vaulfort: "For now. But even without the Wave Motion Guns, the Andromeda is still the most advanced warship on Altaires. Its current arsenal alone can wipe out entire fleets."

Arthur leaned back, his expression unreadable.

Arthur: "Then let's move forward. We'll continue construction and refine the engine. When the time comes, we'll have the true power of the Andromeda ready."

Erich smirked.

Erich: "By then, Müller and Przesky will be praying they never challenged us."

The three men stood, gazing at the holographic projection of the unfinished dreadnought, its hull shining like a sleeping beast awaiting the call to war.

A Glimpse into the Future

With the Andromeda now officially named and under active construction, Wallonia had taken another step toward ultimate dominance.

But beyond the mountains, in the capitals of their enemies, whispers of Wallonia's growing power were beginning to spread.

The question was not if war would come—

But who would dare strike first?

The Watchful Eyes of Wallonia

Mobilization of the Fleets

As Emperor Arthur and Chancellor Erich stood in the heart of Wallonia's Grand Strategic Command, the holographic display illuminated before them, showing a massive deployment of Wallonian fleets moving into strategic positions.

The room was filled with the quiet hum of communications officers coordinating the movement of over 1,500 ships in real-time.

Arthur glanced at the data feed.

Arthur: "Twelve fleets, each with 132 ships, now patrolling designated sectors. That should keep Müller and Przesky in check."

Erich smirked as he observed the vast display of naval power.

Erich: "With over 8,000 ships, we have the numbers to assert dominance. But numbers alone don't win wars. It's about how we use them."

The admirals overseeing fleet deployments nodded in agreement. Each fleet was led by an experienced commander, ready to counteract any threat that arose.

Beyond the immediate patrols, 300 warships and 500 transport vessels were prepped and loaded with supplies, engineers, and armaments for Frechenia.

Arthur turned toward Grand Admiral Gordon, the overall commander of the Wallonian Navy.

Arthur: "You will oversee the deployment to Frechenia. Ensure the supplies arrive without issue and establish defensive formations along the Frechenian coast."

Gordon saluted.

Gordon: "Understood, Your Majesty. The transports will arrive within the week, and our engineers will begin fortifying Frechenian infrastructure immediately."

Erich exhaled.

Erich: "That should stabilize Frechenia, but now we have a bigger issue… the unknown signal."

---

The Mysterious Signal

A tense silence fell over the room as Erich brought up another data feed.

A strange, unrecognizable message had been detected by Wallonia's deep-space monitoring arrays—something completely foreign to any known language.

Arthur leaned in, studying the indecipherable text.

Arthur: "This isn't from our original world. It's not Garmillan, nor any language we've encountered before."

Erich crossed his arms.

Erich: "If it's something extraterrestrial… then we have no idea what we're dealing with."

The Wallonian Scientific Bureau had already analyzed the signal, but the linguistic structure was completely alien—not even close to the known human dialects or the Garmillan language.

Arthur stood up.

Arthur: "If something out there is sending messages, then we need to see who they are before they see us."

Arthur turned to Erich with a serious expression.

Arthur: "We need a leader for this expedition. Someone capable of handling the unknown."

A list of potential commanders appeared on the holographic screen.

Preparing for the Unknown:

The Gathering of Commanders

The Andromeda-Class Super Dreadnought, the pinnacle of Wallonian engineering, was still undergoing its final stages of construction. With four months left until completion, Wallonia had yet to deploy any manned vessels into deep space. Instead, small stealth satellites had been launched to survey and scout the unknown territories, searching for any trace of the mysterious signal.

But with the countdown to deep-space operations ticking away, a crucial decision loomed—who would lead this unprecedented venture into the unknown?

The Summoning of Commanders

In the heart of Wallonia's military command center, high above the mountain docks where vast shipwrights worked tirelessly, messages were sent to four of Wallonia's finest naval minds.

They were to attend an urgent strategy meeting, hosted personally by Emperor Arthur Paulus Wallonia and Chancellor Erich.

The Chosen Commanders:

1. Commander Rayhardt Kassler – The rising star of Wallonia, known for his devastating efficiency in the Osterian war.

2. Vice Admiral Stark Beauwolf – A legendary tactician, unpredictable yet lethal in battle.

3. Admiral Yamanami Osamu – A legacy officer from the original world, trained in cosmic naval doctrines.

4. Captain Koshida Skyler – The experienced commander of the Azimuth Battleship stationed in Frechenia.

The meeting would determine the leadership of Wallonia's first deep-space fleet—a decision that could change the fate of the empire.
