Chapter 14 - Sky Raven City?
Immediately comprehending the kind of force behind that punch, the hammer-wielding man abruptly shouted out in fear, great terror gripping the entirety of his being, "Wait! Wait, please."
"I-I am sorry... we are sorry that our argument turned into this. And we seriously apologize for looking down on you and your kingdom."
"Actually, when w-we heard you were going to retaliate against the people of this region for the chaos they caused in your kingdom, we were immediately tasked by a chief to arrive here, send you all away and claim the land for o-ourselves... I-I mean for the city, which will be an achievement to the chief and us. We are really sorry it came down to th-this."
The hammer-wielding man stuttered, his face pale from fear and horror. While Thegarroth whose aura had turned deep blue from light blue, evoking the feeling that he was ready to unleash a far stronger, wildly destructive attack on the hammer-wielding man, said to him with a deep voice that sounded like the words came from the reincarnation of destruction itself, "What city is that?"
"S-Sky Raven City." The hammer-wielding man quickly replied, still stammering because of the fear that embraced his whole being.
Once Thegarroth heard that, he slowly calmed. Then he looked at the man and said, "Take that woman with you and get the hell out of my face."
"I will." The man immediately responded.
Then he swiftly pressed a button on his mystical hammer which immediately caused certain runes on the hammer to light up, emitting bright resplendent colors. Also, it emitted subtle humming sounds as it filled the area with a type of energy.
Whoosh!
Abruptly, he vanished, reappearing where the woman—now totally unconscious and heavily bloodied, was knocked to.
Then he picked her up, crushing a certain jade-like item in his hand.
Immediately he did so, their bodies shot off like bolts of lightning back to the Sky Raven City.
Thegarroth thought of these two people that suddenly appeared from nowhere to attack him and his soldiers, killing off a decent number of them and said, his face warped by a certain inexplicable expression, "I know this won't be the end of it. You guys are definitely going to return, given how arrogant and condescending you guys were. Especially that woman who won't be able to let go of her loss in this battle."
"Anyway, I let you guys go this time to respect where you are from, but the next time such a thing happens, you will die. At that time, I wouldn't mind going to war against your legendary ancient city."
Thirty minutes later, the soldiers from his kingdom appeared before him, after burying their dead colleagues. Then their leader spoke with great reverence and awe in his tone, as he and many others had witnessed the brief epic battle that occurred between Thegarroth and two strange people, "Your Admirable Lordship, we have slain every one of the Nhongluh tribesmen. They no longer exist in this world as us."
"Well done. All of you. You all have done a great job." Thegarroth said, praising them for their fearlessness, decisiveness and effort.
Then he further spoke to them, a serious look appearing on his face, "Soldiers, rise to your feet. Let's return home and celebrate this great victory. Celebrate this land that we came to claim for ourselves and successfully did so."
"With our new acquisition, we can expand our territory which will usher in a new era of greater prosperity and excellence for us all. Then finally, celebrate the complete obliteration of one of our enemies from this world."
After saying that, he spoke further, his voice laced with heaviness and anger this time as his whole demeanour changed, "As much as we would love to celebrate this victory, we also have to remember our fallen brothers and sisters who died right here on this battlefield. All because of the unexpected appearance by an arrogant duo that suddenly arrived from a distant foreign land with the intent to fight me and claim this region for one of their corrupt officials."
"Men, I let them go. But not without nearly killing one, dragging her to the brink of death, while the other begged like a dog for his life."
"Though they came from a background vastly more powerful and resourceful than ours, and are massively more populated, they would however understand that smaller kingdoms like mine are not to be bullied."
"I don't care if you are from one of the Nine Cities of Wonders of the world, I will not bend over for you. Never!"
"So men, I let them leave, but with something they would always remember me for, which in itself, is a punishment."
"They would always stay up late at night and wonder how and why the king of such a little kingdom could beat up powerful enforcers bred and trained in such a vast, incomparably powerful city." Thegarroth said, honestly expressing himself to his soldiers who looked at him with more reverence and adoration in their eyes.
Then with his already-deep voice growing much more deeper, which somehow left a strongly noticeable effect on the wind around them as it began to howl, and the ground to slightly groan and shudder, he said, his bulky, heavy armor vibrating and clinkering on his towering body, "Though, this won't be the last of their appearance, I am fully sure of that. But whenever they appear before me, to battle me for the loss that they suffered in my hands, that will be the time they would lose their lives."
"I will severely humiliate them, then pull their heads out of their necks."
"And if they come with a larger number since the duo might think that they have understood the kind of strength I possess, and that they would not be able to contend with me, I will do the same to all of them."
"I will debase them, then rip their beating hearts, ribs and intestines out of their armored bodies."
"By that time, I would have avenged the deaths they caused to my people, to your brave and fearless brothers and sisters." Thegarroth said, while the howl coming from the wind became louder and surprisingly took on a type of sound that would evoke the definite feeling in one that it was a guttural roar from destruction itself.
After saying that, his eyes gleaming in the light of the sun, he said calmly, which immediately restored peace to the violent atmosphere around them, "Let's return home."
The soldiers who had stood to their feet when he asked them to, loudly struck their shields with their swords three times—in unison and pointed them at the sky, roaring with pride and greatness.
They couldn't be more proud of such a powerful warrior and ruler leading them. Then they sheated their weapons and began to march proudly behind him to where the ships they arrived with floated in the sky.
Mounting them with ropes that pulled them towards the ships, the ships turned around and began to sail back to the kingdom. While the ones that marched on feet, all the way from the kingdom to the battleground, returned with that same energy, or even more than that, as they had been mentally invigorated and refreshed by the sincere but powerful speech of their king and lord.
