Chapter 15 - A Love against fate

The room felt heavy with silence. Levi stood still, heart pounding in his chest as he stared into Jaceon's eyes—those glowing crimson eyes that had once terrified him, now brimming with something painfully human.

Emotion.

Love.

And then, without another word, Jaceon stepped closer, gently cupping Levi's face like he was something fragile… something sacred.

"I've never said this before," he whispered, his voice deep, raw, and shaking with honesty. "But I love you, Levi. I didn't ask for this… but I can't fight it anymore."

Levi's breath caught.

Jaceon leaned in—slow, hesitant—and finally pressed his lips against his. It wasn't like the stories Levi had read. It was fire and sorrow and desperation, yet full of longing. Like Jaceon was trying to carve a piece of his soul into that single kiss.

When they parted, Jaceon rested his forehead against Levi's. "I don't care what happens. I don't care about Hell, about the Devil, or fate. I'm going to protect you, Levi… until my last breath."

Levi couldn't stop the tears that filled his eyes—not just from fear or sadness, but from finally knowing he wasn't alone in this. They were both trapped in something bigger than them… but they weren't trapped alone.

"We need to go see the deity ," Jaceon said, voice trembling. "There has to be a way out of this. A way to break the deal… save you from the punishment… save me."

"Who's the deity? Where can we find one ".. Levi asked.

"Deity's are the gods who protect mankind and I know where exactly we can find one".. Jaceon responded

"Oh great hope she could be of help"... Levi asked

Jaceon nodded. "She's the only one who knows how fate truly works."

They left that very night.

The stars above seemed dimmer as they walked through the dark woods leading to the lighted edge of the city—the place demons feared to tread. And yet, Jaceon moved with purpose, Levi beside him, hand brushing against his like a silent vow.

When they arrived, the air shimmered with magic. The old woman, the deity, was already waiting—like she knew they were coming.

Her ancient eyes scanned them both, and a knowing smirk tugged at her lips.

"So," she said slowly, "the cursed lovers have finally kissed."

Levi blinked. "Can you help us?"

The deity walked closer, circled them once like she was inspecting fate's threads.

"There's a way," she said. "But it's dangerous. It requires something rare."

Jaceon stepped forward. "Anything."

She looked him dead in the eyes.

"You must find the soul root—a mythical gem that grows from the deepest regret of a soul. It is the only thing powerful enough to rewrite a soul's contract with the Devil… and to undo your punishment."

"Where can we find it?" Levi asked.

The deity gave a cryptic smile.

"Where the first regret was born… and where death sleeps with its eyes open."

The wind howled as her words settled between them like a warning.

And Jaceon knew exactly where they had to go.

Hell itself.

Where it all began at the first place and obviously it won't be easy ...
