Chapter 62: Saffron City
After speaking, Brock continued walking forward. Misty, Daisy, Melanie, Meowth, and Pikachu saw Brock heading forward and followed him without a second thought, leaving only Ash behind, standing there with his head lowered, lost in thought about something unknown.
Meanwhile, with Brock's group, they had already walked some distance. Suddenly, a scene occurred that made everyone turn their heads back: Ash's Pikachu was pointing back towards Ash with its little finger, jumping up and down while shouting loudly, "Pika~ Pika~ Pikachu!"
Everyone turned their heads back and saw Ash hadn't followed them; he was still standing there foolishly. Just then, they all understood what Pikachu meant. Seeing Ash still standing there blankly, Misty shouted loudly, "Ash! What are you spacing out for?! Hurry up and follow us!"
At this moment, Brock and the others standing beside Misty all covered their ears, because Misty had shouted extremely loudly. Meanwhile, Ash, hearing Misty's shout, snapped back to reality and saw Brock's group watching him from some distance away. So, he quickly ran towards them.
After a little while, Ash finally reached Brock and the others. Seeing Ash arrive, Brock said to everyone, "Now that everyone's here, let's get moving!" After speaking, he started walking towards Saffron City.
Hearing Brock, Ash and the others also started walking together towards Saffron City. And so, Brock's group advanced towards Saffron City... After walking for an unknown amount of time, they passed through the forest and saw their destination, Saffron City, not far ahead.
Just then, a strange and scary laugh echoed in Brock and the others' ears. They looked towards the direction the sound came from and saw a little girl standing there. The sound had come from her.
Seeing it was a little girl, Ash wanted to greet her, "Hello! Are you a child from around here?"
Hearing Ash, the little girl glanced at Brock's group, laughed a few more times, then ran away.
After watching this scene, Ash was about to chase after her, but Misty beside him grabbed him. Misty held Ash back and said, "Ash, don't chase her! The main thing now is to quickly reach Saffron City! That way, we won't have to sleep outdoors in this forest tonight."
Hearing Misty, Ash replied, "Okay!" And so, Brock's group continued walking towards the nearby Saffron City.
Shortly after, Brock's group arrived in Saffron City. Seeing it was already late, Brock said to everyone, "Ash, Misty, Daisy, Melanie, nightfall is approaching. Let's find the Pokémon Center to stay overnight!" After Brock spoke, everyone unanimously agreed. They then headed together towards the Saffron City Pokémon Center.
By now, Brock's group had reached the Pokémon Center. They saw Nurse Joy working there. Brock and the others walked over. Brock then took out his Pokédex from his person, handed it over, and said, "Nurse Joy, two rooms, please."
Nurse Joy, working there, heard someone calling her, looked up, and saw Brock's group. She accepted the Pokédex from Brock's hand and replied, "Okay, no problem!"
Hearing Nurse Joy, Brock nodded. He then noticed everyone else was quiet. He thought, Haven't flirted with girls in a long time... Today's the day to tease them! (Only Brock's group and Nurse Joy were in the Pokémon Center lobby at this time).
Having decided this, Brock said, "Nurse Joy! Misty! Melanie! Daisy! Can I ask you all a question?"
Nurse Joy, who was registering Brock, heard him and replied, "Go ahead and ask!"
Misty, Melanie, and Daisy heard Brock and replied in unison, "Okay, ask away!"

Just as Brock finished speaking, Nurse Joy finished his registration and handed the Pokédex back to Brock. At the same time, she answered, "Husband."
Misty, Daisy, and Melanie also followed suit, saying, "Husband!"
Brock accepted the Pokédex, put it away, and hearing Misty, the others, and Nurse Joy all call him "Husband," he replied calmly, without blushing or his heart skipping a beat, "Mm, good girls, wives."

But Misty shouted angrily, "Brock! You dare flirt with me?! Aren't you afraid of dying?!" After speaking, she raised her hand as if to hit Brock.
Seeing this, Daisy quickly stopped Misty, while consoling, "Misty! Don't be angry! Brock was just joking!"
Seeing this, Brock thought, Speechless! Misty got angry just like that?! Sigh! Can't joke around casually next time. Misty's hot-tempered personality means she gets angry so easily! It's fine when she's not angry, but when Misty gets angry and hits someone... the power is like a Pokémon's move! That feeling is not pleasant at all... Brock shook his head after finishing this thought.
Hearing her sister Daisy's words, Misty thought carefully for a moment, then said to Brock, "Brock! I'll spare you this time! But if you do it again, I definitely won't let you off!"
Hearing Misty, Brock nodded and said, "I won't dare next time! Absolutely won't do it again!"
Seeing this scene, Melanie wanted to change the subject, so she said to everyone, "Everyone must be hungry, right?! Let's go eat dinner!"
Hearing Melanie's suggestion, Ash quickly chimed in, "Yeah! I was hungry ages ago! Let's go eat dinner!"
Hearing Melanie, Brock knew she was helping him change the subject and also agreed, "Ash and Melanie are right. We should get dinner now."
