Jonathan's Pov
I sat on the couch, staring at the genotype test results Mel had shown me earlier. A sense of relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but feel grateful.
I had been so worried that my past genotype issues with Sara would repeat themselves with Mel. But now, it seemed like I had dodged that bullet.
I thought back to my relationship with Sara, and how our genotype incompatibility had caused us so much pain. We had been so in love, but our genetic differences had made it impossible for us to have healthy children.
But now, with Mel, it seemed like we were in the clear. Our genotype test results showed that we were compatible, and I couldn't wait to start a family with her.
I looked over at Mel, who was busy making dinner in the kitchen since ray and hector are on leave. She was humming to herself, and her smile lit up the entire room.
I felt a surge of love and gratitude towards her. She had saved me from the pain and heartache of my past, and I knew that I would never let her go.
I got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen, wrapping my arms around Mel's waist. She turned around, a look of surprise on her face, and then smiled up at me.
"What's wrong, baby?" she asked, her voice soft.
I looked into her eyes, feeling my heart overflow with emotion. "Nothing's wrong, Mel," I said, my voice filled with gratitude. "Everything's just right."
Mel's smile grew wider, and she leaned into me, her head resting on my chest. I held her close, feeling a sense of peace and contentment wash over me. In this moment, everything felt right with the world. I knew that I had found my soulmate in Mel, and I was grateful for every moment we spent together.
As we stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, I couldn't help but think about the future. I envisioned us building a life together, starting a family, and growing old hand in hand. The thought filled me with excitement and anticipation. I knew that our journey would not be without its challenges, but I was ready to face them head-on, as long as I had Mel by my side.
Mel's POV
As I stood in the kitchen, wrapped in Jonathan's arms, I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. I had been so relieved when he had finally seen the genotype test results, and I had managed to keep my secret safe. But the weight of my deception hung over me like a shadow.
I thought back to the day I had received the test results, and my heart had sunk. We weren't genetically compatible. The news had sent a wave of fear through me. What if Jonathan found out? Would he leave me? I couldn't bear the thought of losing him.
So, I had made the decision to keep the truth hidden. I had forged the test results, making it seem like we were compatible. It was a risk, but I was willing to take it. I couldn't lose Jonathan. I loved him too much as well as his money.
As we stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, I couldn't shake off the feeling of fear. What if Jonathan found out? What if he discovered my secret? The thought sent a chill down my spine. I knew I had to keep my secret safe, no matter what.
Jonathan's POV
I picked up the phone and dialed Dave's number, excitement coursing through my veins. "Hey, man," I said, grinning from ear to ear. "I've got some news to share." Dave's voice was cheerful on the other end of the line, and I could almost hear the curiosity in his tone.
"What's up, Jon?" he asked, and I took a deep breath before delivering the news.
"I'm restarting my wedding plans with Mel," I said, feeling a sense of joy and anticipation. There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, I wondered if Dave was surprised.
"That's great, Jon!" Dave exclaimed, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "I'm happy for you, man. You two are meant to be." I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I knew Dave would be supportive.
Next, I called Ray and Hector, my employees who had become like family to me. "Guys, it's time to start preparing for the wedding," I said, my voice filled with excitement. Ray and Hector were both seasoned professionals, and I knew they would take care of every detail.
"Don't worry, boss," Ray said, his voice calm and reassuring. "We'll make sure everything is perfect for your special day." Hector chimed in, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "We'll get started right away, sir."
With the preparations underway, I turned my attention to taking Mel home to meet my family. I was excited to introduce her to my parents and see how they would react to her.
As we arrived at my family home, I could feel a sense of nervousness emanating from Mel. She was quiet and reserved, and I knew she was trying to make a good impression. My mom greeted us warmly, and we sat down in the living room.
But then, disaster struck. Mel treated the maid poorly, ordering her around and speaking to her in a condescending tone. I felt a pang of discomfort, but Mel seemed oblivious to the tension she was creating.
That was until she noticed my mom watching her. Suddenly, Mel's demeanor changed, and she was all smiles and charm. My mom, however, didn't seem convinced.
As we sat there, trying to make small talk, my mom turned to me and asked, "Jonathan, are you sure you want to end up with Mel?" Her voice was laced with concern, and I could sense her doubt.
I felt a surge of defensiveness, and I quickly came to Mel's defense. "Mom, I know what I'm doing," I said, trying to reassure her. "Mel is a great person, and I love her." My mom looked at me skeptically, but I could see the concern in her eyes.
I knew my mom was just trying to protect me, but I felt a sense of frustration. Why couldn't she see how much I loved Mel? Why couldn't she understand that Mel was the one for me?
As we left my family home and headed back to our place, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Mel seemed quiet and reserved, and I wondered what was going through her mind.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked her, trying to break the silence. Mel looked up at me, a smile on her face.
"Nothing's wrong, baby," she said, her voice soft. "I'm just happy to be with you." I smiled back at her, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe my mom was just being overprotective. Maybe Mel was the perfect person for me after all.
As we stepped into our home, Mel's demeanor changed, and she became distant and cold. I could sense a shift in her mood, and I wondered what was wrong. I turned to her, concern etched on my face.
"Hey, what's going on?" I asked, trying to break the silence. Mel looked up at me, her eyes flashing with a hint of frustration.
"If you're going to marry me," she said, her voice firm but controlled, "then you need to relieve Elisa from her job." I was taken aback by her request, and I wondered why she felt so strongly about it.
"Why?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. Mel's expression turned stern, and she crossed her arms over her chest.
"I just can't stand the thought of a female driving my soon-to-be husband around," she said, her voice laced with possessiveness. I raised an eyebrow, surprised by her reaction.
Elisa had been my driver for a year, and we had developed a good employee-employer relationship. I saw her as a younger sister, and I valued her loyalty and dedication.
But I also knew that Mel was important to me, and I wanted to make her happy. So, I agreed to relieve Elisa of her job, but I had a better position and offer in mind for her.
"I'll take care of it," I said, trying to reassure Mel. Her face lit up with excitement, and she threw her arms around me.
"Thank you, baby," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. I smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe this was a small price to pay for Mel's happiness.
But little did Mel know, I had a better plan in store for Elisa. I would relieve her of her job as my driver, but I would offer her a more senior role in my company. She was a hard worker and a loyal employee, and I valued her contributions.
As Mel continued to gush with excitement, I made a mental note to speak with Elisa and offer her the new position. I knew she would be thrilled, and I was confident that she would excel in her new role.
For now, though, I would keep my plans a secret from Mel. I wanted to see how she would react to the changes, and I was curious to know if she would be supportive of Elisa's new role.
As the night drew to a close, Mel's excitement had not waned. She was still bubbling with enthusiasm, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Maybe this was the start of a new chapter in our lives, one filled with love, happiness, and compromise.
Mel's POV
As I stepped into the room with Jonathan, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. My mind was still reeling from the conversation we had just had about Elisa, his driver. I had been waiting for the perfect moment to get rid of her, and now that Jonathan had agreed to relieve her of her job, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.
I had always felt like Elisa was too smart for her own good. She was always asking questions, always poking her nose into our business. I knew that she was a threat to my secret, to my family. I had worked so hard to keep it hidden, to keep my past buried. But Elisa's nosiness made me feel like she was getting too close to the truth.
While I was cleaning up my makeup and getting ready for bed I couldn't help but think about the next steps I needed to take. I would make sure that Elisa was gone, and then I would focus on getting rid of the cook and cleaner. They were also too close to the truth, and I couldn't trust them.
I glanced over at Jonathan, who was oblivious to my thoughts. I knew that he trusted Elisa, that he saw her as a loyal employee. But I knew better. I knew that Elisa was a threat.
As we sat down on the couch, I felt a sense of determination wash over me. I would do whatever it took to keep my secret safe, to keep my past buried. Now I have gotten rid of Elisa, I would focus on getting rid of the cook and cleaner. I would do whatever it took to protect my secret .
I looked over at Jonathan again, who was smiling at me. I knew that he loved me, that he would do anything for me. And I knew that I would do the same for him.
Jonathan's POV
The next day, I woke up early, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. I got dressed and headed downstairs to have breakfast with Mel. We chatted about our plans for the day, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. After finishing my breakfast, I kissed Mel goodbye and headed out the door.
Elisa, my driver, was already waiting for me in the car, dressed in her usual professional attire. She opened the car door for me, and I got in, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity. As we drove off, I started the conversation by asking her about her education.
"Elisa, how far did you study in school?" I asked, curious about her background. Elisa looked at me in the rearview mirror, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"I studied human resource management, sir," she replied, her voice confident. I nodded, impressed by her answer.
I decided to take a chance and ask her about her dream job. "What is your dream job, Elisa?" I asked, curious about her aspirations. Elisa thought for a moment before responding.
"My dream job is to work in a company where I can use my skills to make a positive impact, sir," she said, her voice filled with passion. I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement.
"I think I can offer you that opportunity, Elisa," I said, a plan forming in my mind. "I want to promote you to a manager in my company. You'll be responsible for overseeing the human resources department and ensuring that our company is a great place to work."
Elisa's eyes widened in surprise, and she looked at me in the rearview mirror, her face filled with excitement. "Sir, I'm...I'm speechless," she stammered. I chuckled, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
"Take your time, Elisa," I said, smiling. "You'll be great in this role. I'll send you the details of the job offer, and we can discuss the terms further." Elisa nodded, still looking shocked and excited.
As we continued driving, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I knew that Elisa would be a great fit for the role, and I was looking forward to seeing her grow and succeed in her new position.
