Morning came like fog—weightless but dense.
They ate in silence, the air between them vibrating with something unspoken.
Su-yeon clutched her bag. Min-ho stayed near the window. Ji-hoon… listened.
Not with his ears. With his mind.
The third presence was louder now.
"They're close."
"Afterlife?" Ji-hoon asked aloud.
Su-yeon nodded. "They'll have tracked the van. The river. The cave."
Min-ho tapped the table. "Then we can't stay here."
Ji-hoon stood. "We go to them."
Su-yeon blinked. "What?"
"We let them come. We talk. We show them what we are."
Min-ho hesitated. "Or we run. We survive. That's what I've done all these years."
Ji-hoon shook his head. Not anymore.
Not when evolution was ready to speak.
Su-yeon stood too. "We go to the tower."
Min-ho frowned. "You think they'll meet us there?"
"They already know we're coming."
Ji-hoon felt it too—a signal rising from the base of his spine.
Like static. Like memory.
"We are not separate. We are the bridge."
The third consciousness was preparing. And it wanted them to listen.
