"Your brother should have known better than to make that kind of deal with a human, you know it's against our laws to begin with and I didn't have to accept it."
"That may be, but only Audrey's new guardian can accept it and duel me, you should know better."
Coralis remembered what Frank had told her about his conversation with Pier. Feeling proud of him despite the situation, a grin appeared on her face. She held her wand tight in her left hand and had her right one stretched next to her, palm facing him.
"You are facing Audrey's new guardian," said Coralis as she threw a laser beam at him.
He tried to dodge it, but the laser went right through his left hand.
"LIAR!" he said while throwing her a blast of air, throwing her backward in the air, "Audrey's cousin said the guardian is his girlfriend. Where is she?"
Coralis shifted into her panther form as soon as she passed the shadow line, and landed on four paws behind a treeline. She crouched and transformed back to herself.
"Oh my God, is she okay?" said Molly and Lizzy, at the same time.
"She is, a blast of air isn't going to take her down," said Sebastian.
She prepared her next spell and stepped back within the moonlight. As soon as her right foot entered the circle, she transformed the air around the back of his knees into icicles and had them passed through them.
"Here I am, you are facing the girlfriend," said Coralis, feeling her wand burning in her hand.
Dwayne yelled and stepped forward, bending his knees, but he didn't fall. Out of rage, he tried to send a fireball her way, but she dodged it. He sent another one and it landed on her right shoulder. It burned her cloak and flesh underneath, but she killed the fire before it spread.
"That can't be! Everyone knows you're seeing that flyball player."
He sent a third one, but she redirected it back to him before it reached her. He dodged it and shifted into a wolf to charge her. She shifted back into her panther and scooted slightly right before he got to her, planting the claws of her front right paw into his ribcage and ripping it open just before she transformed back to herself, throwing him another laser bolt.
"You should know better than to believe everything you read in the press."
The laser passed through his left shoulder blade as he shifted back to himself.
"But he's human."
"So?"
Dwayne was enraged. He tried to throw another blast of air her way, but she froze the air around it, turning it into a sheet of ice, and shattered it before it got to her.
"Aren't you supposed to be playing flyball at this time?"
"I would be if my protegee hadn't been kidnapped. Shall we end this so I can go back to playing flyball?"
Pointing his wand to the ground, he wanted to call upon a dark spirit to take possession of her. A dark shadow was seen coming from the ground behind her feet. She sensed it, closed her eyes for a moment and created a barrier of light to wrap over her skin. A white glow with a blueish hue was seen coming out of her cloak and the dark shadow dissipated.
"I'm having a hard time believing what my eyes are seeing right now. It's like watching a 3D movie… except it's not," said Louis.
"The first time I watched her fight like that, it was through security cameras and half the time she was out of range," said Frank.
"Please tell me she can win this, she'll win, right?" said Lizzy.
Dwayne tried to conjure up more shadows. He wanted them to annihilate her. She dissipated the first layer, then directed a small amount of energy into the next layer of shadows closing on her, to take control of them. She pushed them to Dwayne. He cancelled his spell before they got to him and sent her another fireball instead. She dodged it.
"I believe Blue Thunder can win this. Her opponent is tiring out. Rage is a powerful, but unstable emotion, and she is using it against him. She is still focused and in control, can't say the same about Dwayne Glozo," said Vectan.
She started conjuring up a fog to restrain his movement, but her wand burned out off her hand.
"Oh no," said Molly, bringing her hands to her mouth.
"Don't worry, she still got this," said Sebastian.
"She'll just be very exhausted when this is over," said Vectan.
She continued her spell as if nothing happened, focusing on what she wanted to do with the fog. Dwayne went mad. He managed to force his hand holding the wand to align toward the tree behind her. He broke a large branch and made it hit her head.
"NOOO!" said Lizzy and Molly at the same time.
"Can they put a stop to this?" said Louis.
"No, all they can do is make sure no one interferes in the battle," said Sebastian.
She fell to her side but didn't lose her focus. Blood was pouring down her hairline above her left ear. Her sight still focused on the fog in front of her, she put her right hand on the ground and pushed herself up, her left hand facing Dwayne. She turned her hand clockwise as she got back up.
Frank released a breath he didn't know he was holding. He was worried and afraid he'd lose her. He needed her to come home to him.
"She got this, bro, she got this," said Stephanie, rubbing his back.
"Blue Thunder is a very powerful mage for her age, she isn't to be underestimated," said Vectan.
She created a hand out of the fog and used it to force his wand out of his hand. From her right hand, she directed a wind to send his wand across the field before it landed on the ground. He tried to reach for it and she used that moment of distraction to mold the fog into something else.
"Please win this, I want my baby back to me."
"She will, Aunty," said Stephanie.
She manipulated the fog and shaped it into a spear. She added consistency to make it thicker, seemingly solid. As he turned his focus back to her, she threw it at him. The tip of the spear pierced the front of his neck and quickly came out behind it. Once the tip fully went through his neck, she slowed down the spear's travelling speed. His eyes rolled to the back of his skull and blood poured out his mouth.
The spear made out of fog was almost entirely out of his neck when Coralis and Dwayne collapsed to the ground.
