Vera's POV
After working four years for the same company without getting a promotion or been recognised by the higher ups, it was eating me up day by day. But there is a light shade of hope at the horizon.
I met a nice, handsome guy at my last congress in Munich. It was love at first side.
He explained his poster to some visitors when our eyes met. I remember this moment clear as a bright frosty winter day. His gaze was so captivating, I wasn't able to turn my eyes away. Later we went on a drink or two and talked for hours. He made me giggle and feeling really valued. It is a very long time since I felt so lighthearted.
But Alexander is working for a huge company in the northern part of the country. Beeing together is not so easy for us.
After some weeks of dating and videocalling I made this silly decision to quit my job as soon as possible and move in with him.
Today is the day where I will hand in my resignation letter to HR. I am energised but although a little anxious about my lstest decision. The printed and signed letter is lying heavy on my desk in my office at home when I get up at the first ringing of my alarm clock. The morning is welcoming me with bright sunshine and a mild temperature outside. Perfect for a walk to my office.
Actually I do not know, if I will regret my decision in the future but I hope not. My bags are packed already and in two weeks from now the transporter is terminated to pick up my stuff.
As I reach my office building, I check the information table next to the elevator for the HR floor. Four years have past since I last visited this floor. After I entered the elevator, I pushed the button for the third floor to visit the designated stuff member to hand over my resignation letter. At this moment I feel very lucky because I have a very short resignation time from only two weeks to the end of this month.
