"I... I don't like this silence," Micheal suddenly said, releasing the air that was stored up in his puffed cheeks but Noah did not say anything about it.
Micheal was annoyed. For how long were they going to live like this? For as long as Noah's memories laid dormant?
What if they never came back?
He saw somewhere that memories are often triggered by taking the amnesia patient to a familiar place.
So, if he took Noah to one of the places he was familiar with, his memories would likely come back. Maybe a fragment or so, but it was still something to help understand who he was.
But how in the world was he going to accomplish that task when he knew nothing about Noah? He could ask Noah for the places he used to frequent, but what do you know, he's lost his memory so nope, that was out of the question.
Micheal sighed.
"Can't we just put up a missing person poster or something? Your family or your pack might be able to find you faster that way." Micheal blurted out.
"And so will the guys who are after my life."
"Ah, right. There was that." Micheal said and sighed lazily. 'But so what? It's your business whoever finds you first. I just want you out of my life already.'
Noah suddenly stopped and Micheal glanced back, wondering why he stopped. Wait, it couldn't be that he could read thoughts, right?
He suddenly began to panic, wondering if werewolves had the ability to read thoughts and if Micheal had heard everything he was thinking about.
'Ah, what do I do? Do I make an excuse? Do I...?'
"I'm done." Noah announced, contrary to what Micheal thought was going to happen.
"Ah, yes." Micheal smiled nervously.
Seriously, why did he get so worked up just because he stopped?
Knowing Noah was a supernatural creature made him anxious sometimes. He could have mind-reading powers of possibly x-ray vision to see through walls.
'Those things only happen in movies. I'm not sure werewolves have that kind of power.' he thought and opened his eyes to see Noah heading for the door. 'Hm, maybe I should look into werewolves and their abilities.'
"I'll go take a bath." Noah said, just before he opened the door, and Micheal nodded.
The Internet had a lot of far-fetched theories about werewolves. One article said they moved in packs and didn't go too far from one another; another article spoke about their supernatural abilities: they healed fast, had super hearing, and a great sense of smell.
It mentioned nothing about mind reading or x-ray visions, thankfully.
They were also very quick on their feet and strong too.
'Ah, maybe I'll use him to do all the heavy lifting.' Micheal thought. 'But super hearing?' he thought about this. 'I should probably keep my mumbling to my thoughts since he might hear me.'
Aside from the werewolves, there were Lycans who, instead of transforming into full wolves, stood upright like a man, wolf fur all over their body, wolf face, and... Supernatural abilities included.
It was said that werewolves and Lycans weren't exactly on the same page and the reason was unknown.
But Micheal didn't even know if Lycans existed. Sure, there were werewolves but there was no certainty that there were Lycans.
And if there were, he would definitely not be surprised to see a vampire show up on his balcony one night.
"Phew!" Micheal exclaimed as he shut his laptop. "I don't think there's anything else I need to know from the Internet. It's all gibberish from there on out."
He laid back on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm exhausted," he exclaimed as he yawned.
His life... No longer hand anything going on for him. He was divorced, alone, jobless, and in a matter of weeks, he'd be penniless as well.
'Why am I still alive right now?'
Noah knocked on the door, but Micheal did not answer. He felt groggy and sleepy. Once again, Noah knocked, but he couldn't even say a simple, 'Come in.'
Then, he heard the door open, and Noah walked in. That was when he realized,
'Ah, it's because I have to take care of this big guy who needs my shelter. He probably had a lot going on for him before he got attacked.' he slowly fluttered his eyelashes as he blinked. 'So, until he's able to recover his memories and go back to wherever he came from, I don't think I have the liberty of dying yet.'
He finally closed his eyes and fell asleep. Noah walked towards him and watched him as he snoozed away. He must be tired to fall asleep in that lacking position.
But it wasn't like they did anything throughout that day for him to feel exhausted. It must be his heart.
He approached and watched him snooze softly. This man who has no purpose in life... There are so many like him in this world.
"Hey, wake up." Noah nudged him. "You can't sleep on an empty stomach."
"Lemme alone." Micheal grumbled in a sleepy tone.
"But you have to eat first."
"I don't want to." Micheal said. He refused to open his eyes and then sniffed. "Can't you just... Leave me alone?"
Noah watched as tears streamed down his face. That pain and anguish he kept in his heart was slowly being released. It flooded his face, displaying how pitiful he was.
It was a sad sight, honestly and Noah shook his head.
Since he was crying his heart out a
In his sleep, he should let him be. Yet...
"What did I do to deserve this?" Micheal's final question was filled with more anguish than the rest, and Noah sighed. He couldn't stand this pitiful sight.
He grabbed Micheal's good arm and then lifted him up.
Micheal woke up right away to the sudden tug and found Noah holding on to him.
"W-what's going on?" He asked.
"Are you awake now?" Noah asked. "The pizza man is almost here. So, try to eat something before going to bed."
Micheal was a bit confused but he sniffed and then realized his face was wet with his tears.
Noah let go of him, leaving him to fall on his butt, but he landed softly, thanks to the cushion of the bed.
"I came in without permission because you didn't answer and I was worried something had happened to you." Noah said as he made his way towards the door. "I hope it doesn't upset you."
Micheal was still confused. Did he really... Wake him up because he was crying?
"I'll see myself out now." Noah said and walked out, shutting the door after him.
"Ah, what..." He placed his hand on his head a bit lost. "What was that just now? Was he... worried about me?"
