Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Battle Begins - Ken Kaneki vs. Ichigo Kurosaki

A solemn silence consumed the infinite stage suspended between dimensions. The atmosphere had shifted—no longer one of curiosity or intrigue but of deadly anticipation. The stage, a twisted plane formed from Kaneki's crimson kagune and Ichigo's black spiritual energy, shaped itself into a warped arena. Reality rippled. Time stood still. Across the multiverse, every eye was fixed on this clash.

A haunting chime echoed as the arena stabilized.

The omniscient voice returned, grim and final:

"Let the battle commence."

The Setting

The battlefield resembled a fractured world—half of it resembling the broken cityscapes of Tokyo after the Dragon Incident, bathed in pale red hues and the scent of blood. The other half mirrored the desolate Wandenreich throne room, littered with crumbled Quincy symbols and glimmering spirit particles. A rift split the center, a cosmic scar symbolizing the clash of existence between two beings who were never meant to meet.

In this place, Ken Kaneki and Ichigo Kurosaki faced each other.

Kaneki stood silently, his white hair swaying in the quiet wind, a single black patch over his eye. His kagune slithered around him like serpents, humming with quiet dread. Memories of being tortured, reborn, broken, and reborn again echoed in the wind around him.

Ichigo stood firm, Zangetsu in both forms—dual swords, white and black. His hollow mask flickered at the edge of his vision. The Quincy cross around his neck glowed faintly. His resolve was heavy, weighted with the spirits of the countless he had saved and failed.

Neither spoke.

They didn't need to.

Across the Multiverse: Reactions

Bleach Universe

"Ichigo... protect your soul," Urahara whispered.

Orihime clutched her necklace tightly. "Please come back."

Isshin Kurosaki stared at the screen. "That boy always finds a way."

Tokyo Ghoul Universe

Touka gripped Hide's hand. "He said he wouldn't fight anymore."

Hide shook his head. "He doesn't fight to win. He fights so others can live."

Naruto Universe

"This is like watching Naruto fight Sasuke all over again," said Sakura.

Naruto nodded, eyes narrowed. "Yeah, but even darker."

Demon Slayer Universe

Tanjiro frowned. "I can feel their pain even from here. It's unbearable."

Giyuu simply said, "They both reek of loneliness."

Death Note Universe

Light smirked. "Neither of them are strategic. They just charge forward."

L replied, "And yet, they've survived what logic says they shouldn't."

One Piece Universe

"These guys are beasts," Luffy shouted. "Let me fight one of them next!"

Zoro just grinned. "They both wield blades with purpose. I respect that."

The Spectacle Begins

The two warriors moved at once. No signal. No warning.

Kaneki launched forward, his kagune stretching out, forming massive claw-like appendages that tore through the atmosphere. Each lash sent a shockwave across the realm.

Ichigo countered with blinding speed, appearing behind Kaneki in an instant. His black blade clashed against Kaneki's kagune, sending a thunderous shock that cracked the ground. Sparks danced as spiritual energy collided with ghoul instinct.

Kaneki twisted, dodged, and retaliated. His kagune split into a thousand whip-like tendrils, each lashing at Ichigo from unpredictable angles. Ichigo raised his reiatsu—his Hollow mask now fully manifested.

"Getsuga... TENSHOU!"

A wave of black and red energy surged forward, obliterating everything in its path. Kaneki's kagune shielded him as best it could, but the blast sent him flying across the battlefield, crashing into a ruined wall formed from memories of Anteiku.

Blood dripped from his mouth. He smiled.

"You're strong. Just like me."

Ichigo narrowed his eyes. "You're not alone in your pain, Kaneki."

Kaneki slowly stood up, his kakuja armor beginning to form. His fingers transformed into claws, his mask partial, ghastly. He looked like a fallen angel, broken and divine.

The sky above began to rain white feathers—a manifestation of Ichigo's spiritual sorrow. Each feather burned on contact with the ground. In contrast, the ground cracked under the pressure of Kaneki's will, his ghoul energy corrupting the soil beneath his feet.

Flashbacks - Mid-Battle Visions

Both fighters paused for a moment as flickers of their pasts emerged in the arena.

Kaneki's Flashback

Yamori's laugh. The scream of Rize. The peace he found with Touka. The child they dreamed of.

"I won't lose who I am again," Kaneki whispered.

Ichigo's Flashback

His mother dying to protect him. Rukia handing him her powers. Urahara training him. His final stand against Yhwach.

"Even if I lose everything... I'll never stop protecting."

They Clash Again

Kaneki roared, leaping with renewed savagery. Ichigo responded with equal fury.

They met midair, each strike shaking the very multiverse. The spectators felt the force ripple through time.

Their blades met.

Kagune vs. Zanpakuto.

Blood vs. Spirit.

Identity vs. Purpose.

They were beyond logic now.

They were poetry written in agony and honor.

War Choir Universe

High Dissonance lowered his helm. "No matter who wins, we all lose something."

Hunter x Hunter Universe

Kurapika stared. "They aren't fighting for themselves. They fight for memories."

Jujutsu Kaisen Universe

Gojo wiped blood from his lips. "A feast of cursed emotions. I wonder... which curse will survive?"

Final Moves Prepare

Ichigo powered up, his final form emerging—his fusion of Hollow, Quincy, and Shinigami reaching its peak. The very stars seemed to bend around him.

Kaneki, now fully transformed into his Dragon-Kakuja hybrid, summoned his final will. His kagune formed wings that stretched into the sky.

They rose above the battlefield.

Two gods, forged not from divinity but despair.

The omniscient voice returned.

"The battle ends with one. The dream of one shall rise. The soul of the other shall fall."

A pause.

"Decide your fate."

Then— a blinding light.

A roar.

A scream.

And silence.
