The rain poured down on the crowded streets, Traffic overwhelmed with circles made by the surrounding crowd.
In the middle of their circle was what looked to be a cut on the fabric of space,
A portal, completely made of dark blue, flouting in at the center like it was unaffected by the known laws of physics.
Shouts of wondering noises could be heard from the crowd surrounding it, some taking pictures and recording this encounter, While others ran for their lives thinking the worst was bound to happen.
In the middle of those people, wearing nothing but dark clothes and a black hoodie,
His body wet from the falling rain that increased the feeling of pending danger that was to come.
Zephyr stood far at the back, steering dead straight at the danger that loomed near,
Although it was said to be an E-rank gate, its size and aura was too overwhelming, for a second Zephyr wondered how the crowd could even stand so near when the pressure of the gate made him feel so overwhelmed, no it was too much, it felt as if his body had grown two times heavier.
"What is happening?", Zephyr whispered with panic, his words sounding more drained with each of his breaths.
[It seems that the concentration of mana being absorbed by your body is trying to awaken your control]
"What do you mean?", Zephyr felt an eyebrow as surprise hit his being,

"Explain?",
[You are not human, so the results of awakening will not be the same as that of human beings. The reason for my prevention is to avoid any type of physical or emotional strain on your body, if not it might prove dangerous for the surrounding crowd]
Zephyr was completely confused, what did Nix mean by a 'danger to the surroundings', did it mean him?
"Is that why you always control my emotions when they reach a high level?",

"The gate is opening!", someone in the crowd shouted as the surroundings started speaking with sounds of chaos.
Hunters who had entered started exiting, as reporters swarmed them to get their reports.
For some reason Zephyr felt like these so-called hunters looked very normal, and if he were to guess he would say they seemed rather weak.
Aside from the little armour they wore, some of them were skinny while others seemed rather overweight.
Coming out, they looked stunned by the crowd that awaited them, which to Zephyr seemed obvious, because although they were hunters, they were still E rank which meant they were always shown very little respect,
The only reason there was even a crowd to begin with, was because the gate had appeared in an unprecedented area, a place where gates usually don't appear, which meant it was still technically not owned by anyone, meaning it wasn't illegal for normal civilians to move closer or even observe it's opening".
"How close do I have to be, is this not close enough?", Zephyr asked feeling as if its pressure was growing the closer he got,
[the current distance has increased the adaption by hours. Suggestion: I would recommend you move closer to feather increase the adaptation, it will prove beneficial the faster the adaption occurs.]
Without question Zephyr started moving, he could feel his body growing heavy as he moved through the surrounding area, but for some reason, the slower he moved, the less he could feel the strain, it was evident that even if the adaption was not in full effect, it was still working.
"How far?",
[Mana is still too weak, suggestion: move as close as you can]
So Zephyr kept moving, he knew that the reason the mana was still too weak was because the gate he was approaching was E rank.
But when he was about to get too close, a guard in a black suit dashed towards him with unseen speeds, he was so fast that Zephyr didn't even notice that the man was already behind him,
He only felt a hand touching his shoulder from the back.

"This is as far as you can go, boy," the man said, his muscular physique imposing, yet my tall frame gave me an unexpected advantage. I could look him straight in the eye despite his rugged build, and he seemed taken aback by my height.
His voice sounded rude. Yet before I could apologize, my brain went into a frenzy, I could feel my eyes contract and my body harden,
And as if by magic, unknown symbols started appearing all over the air in front of the man that stood before me, no I understood them, but it was something I couldn't define, it was something that felt too foreign.
They started flouting and moving around as if in addition, some of them got erased and corrected, as if the words were trying to solve a problem.
And it finally hit, I mysteriously understood how he did it.
I could see exactly what he did, his past actions seemed so clear they were simple.
He had focused all his strength on his legs and moved with two steps to decrease the sounds of his feet, I didn't know how his legs produced such power, but the method had been discovered, I understood it, but something was missing, as if the equation still remained incomplete.
"Boy!", the man shouted me out of my thoughts, "Last warning or I'll put you in the van", he pointed at the police car that was parked on the side.
"Ohh sorry… I'm sorry", I spoke as I quickly moved back, making my way back to the crowd that stood there watching.
"What was that?", I asked, my voice trembling with misbelief, what I had just seen could not be an illusion, because the understanding of those equations was still in my subconscious, as if it could not be forgotten,

Zephyr couldn't help but sigh as he felt shocked by what had happened.
He didn't know what it was, but the feeling was too sudden, it awakened something in him he had never felt his whole life, it felt like the feeling you would get when you first learned to drive a bike, the adrenaline, he felt addicted to it.
He remembered how when the bodyguard was speaking to him, he gained a sense of superiority, although it was little, he could feel it.
"How long will the adaption take?", Zephyr's voice rang loud,
[2\5 days left for full optimization of adaption]
Zephyr couldn't help but laugh as he heard this, something within of him was too curious about himself, the things he didn't understand, the equations his brain seemed to create, the understanding, everything felt too potent,
So maybe thats why, maybe that's why Zephyr felt so confident,
The confidence that he would truly survive.
