David heaved a sigh as he reminisced about the recent events on his way back home.
'Looks like things have been really hectic these past few days huh?'
It had been only a few days since he had the hectic test and his accident leading to his new powers yet it felt like weeks had passed already.
But as hectic as it was he had no grievances for being offered such a free chance, he thought as he smirked looking at the balls of light in the people around him.
'If Michael's way of improvement is to train his body then my way of improvement should be to use my ability as much as possible meaning I need to learn how shift into even more forms and how to control it, but what of my regeneration abilities? Do I have to become a sadist just to increase my abilities?'
Shaking his head he pushed the thought to the back of his mind as he pictured the image of him of him slicing up his hand and screaming in pain while waiting for his hand to heal.
Just the thought of it alone made him shudder in fear 'No, there must be another way to make it happen without going through such self-torture, what if someone had lightning powers? Would he have to get struck by lightning every time just to get stronger'
'There must be another way, right there must be'
He comforted himself as he walked home with his thoughts mainly on his conversation with Michael and his request.
On getting home, he went straight to his room and retired for the night.
Waking up the following day, he left his room feeling refreshed, usually he'd still be in bed but since gaining his powers he had become energetic and rarely got tired so he decided to take a fresh breathe outside.
When he got outside he saw Emma doing push-ups and squats then sat down on the bench to watch him while thinking to himself.
'Do all the squats you like if you come back here I'd just copy you and you'll become helpless once again.'
With a devilish grin on his face, he watched Emma toiling away with sweat dripping all over his body.
After twenty minutes Emma stood up to take a breath and saw David looking at him with his chin resting on his hand and a smile on his face and said
"Yo, I was just about to go looking for you!"
"Huh, what were you going to do after meeting me?"
Emma looked at him with a raised eyebrow surprised at his reaction and asked
"You've gotten real cocky these days haven't you?"
"Just because you got a draw huh?"
David nodded vigorously and his question knowing that Emma while being lazy could be dangerously competitive and if he found that he couldn't do anything to the guy he once toyed around with then he definitely wouldn't just sit still without coming back for a challenge.
"I wasn't serious the last time, how about I beat you up real good this time and put you in your place huh?"
David smirked and said "Getting angry? Don't be too angry it's not like you can win anyways I wasn't serious last time too!"
"Oh we'll see about that boy, come here"
The two of them moved to the former venue used then took their hands while staring into each other's eyes.
"You ready?" Emma said and David nodded
"Three, two, one!"
This time Emma didn't hold back while David used the same trick he used during the first match thinking about only his right arm muscles and veins as the cells in his arm rushed forward then his arm swelled up with veins popping up all over.
The more strength Emma exerted, the more David also copied and the more his cells also disintegrated, looking at this scenario he thought back to the first time his hand morphed to look like Jerry's hand and remembered his cells didn't disintegrate back then.
This occurrence puzzled him and he thought 'Why did my cells not disintegrate back then and only started when I met rocky and this time also with Emma?'
He looked even deeper at Emma's hand while straining his muscles and then he caught it a difference in Emma's cells, the red color with light and very faint, almost non-existent and it seemed his blue colors were lighter than normal.
It seemed that his blue colors was the difference as they were deeper than normal so he didn't even notice the difference but even Emma didn't seem to notice anything!
Perhaps his body only behaved like this around mutants it seemed there was something about it that seemed to make his cells disintegrate and also even though Emma also seemed to be a mutant he was weaker than rocky or Michael.
Heck, even a single punch from rocky would beat the daylights out of him!
He looked at his hand again and then saw the cells in his body moving towards Emma's hand before disintegrating then the cells in Emma's hand also started disintegrating then just as he was about to remove his hand he felt Emma's hand weaken.
He took his eyes away from Emma's hand and looked at his eyes and saw the astonished look in his eyes then thought to himself
'Sorry bro, you'll be the lab rat for me just this one time it's not like you'll die easily anyways.'
He looked at his arm and found out that it seemed to have stabilized with some of his cells retaining the appearance of Emma's cells while the disintegrating ones were rushing out into Emma like suicide bombers then disintegrating.
In this way he remained in prime condition while Emma's power continued to weaken no matter how much he tried he still couldn't avoid the result of him losing the match.
David hurriedly withdrew his hands after ending the match and then at Emma who seemed like he had lost the daylights out of him.
'Why's he so surprised it's just a game isn't it?'
He then looked at the black spots of light that were still wrecking havoc in Emma's hand and then at his own.
'This won't affect me right? I mean I just lost part of my building blocks'
Just the thought came to his mind he saw the space among the cells in his body like a small swirling black hole with nothing in it suddenly reforming within seconds then returning to its original form.
He got the shock of his life then looked at Emma and saw the black balls still there but another one had already replaced them in their original spots.
'It's not normal for something to be created out of thin air right? If I'm right and my eye is like an x-ray scanner that can see through people and the balls are the cells in the body then why could my cells just appear from nowhere?'
'Besides what's with the erratic movement, disconnection and the changing of state and form, what exactly is my real ability?'
