Chapter 9 - :Is That Him? I Might Be Wrong

After Xuan had unexpectedly survived the Cerberus penalty quest, when his soul was summoned back to his body, his heart was bouncing uncontrollably.

He couldn't move a muscle. Of course, his body wasn't there, but it seemed his soul wasn't the only thing that followed—his sore legs and arms followed as well. And immediately after his soul settled in his body, an ocean of sweat wet his clothes.

Xuan collapsed on the floor, and the nurse on night shift saw him. Surprised after touching Xuan's temperature, it nearly burned her skin.

"Ouch, why is he so hot and sweaty? Did they let him go outside?"

When she looked at Xuan's feet, she saw they were also red. She couldn't explain what was happening and just called for help that night.

It had been three days since Xuan was admitted, and after the first penalty quest, Xuan didn't dare doubt the interface. He did what he was told.

He even kept bars of chocolate under his bed. He smiled, remembering he left a chocolate bar under his pillow, but that didn't concern him now.

He was standing outside the hospital, waiting patiently for the man Mr. Shaung had sent to pick him up to Teras. Before Xuan officially agreed to risk his life, he made sure Mr. Shaung paid all his sister's school fees and also a monthly allowance.

Xuan knew that wasn't enough, and he was also in Mr. Shaung's debt now. "Finally, the limo has arrived," said Xuan.

A black limo parked right in front of him. Before he could even stretch his hand to open the door, an old Trukun honked behind the limo.

"Hey, mister limo driver, get off my way!" yelled the Trukun driver. When he noticed Xuan, he blinked and brought out a photo while looking at Xuan.

"Isn't that the kid?" he asked himself.

At this point, Xuan noticed the man kept staring at him. He didn't know why, and he was waiting for the limo to open for him.

"Jesus, this should be the person, but he's taller? And slenderly muscular?" he asked himself again. The image was deceiving.

The Xuan in the photo was like a child in a blue sweatshirt, but the Xuan his eyes were seeing was taller, more handsome, more muscular, and wore a fitting black dress.

He couldn't just jump to conclusions and decided to approach Xuan.

"Excuse me, young man, do you happen to be Xuan Chen?"

Xuan blinked. His heart immediately trembled when he already knew his pickup driver was actually a pickup Trukun. He couldn't deny it and said yes.

"Ah, so you're Xuan Chen? Jesus, what are they feeding you in the hospital? You've grown—big difference!"

Xuan smiled. "Are you the one Mr. Shaung sent?"

"Oh yes, I've come to pick you up with my Trukun."

Xuan sighed and entered the pickup truck with the man. He couldn't walk the miles towards Teras, and his ears paid the price.

The Trukun driver couldn't stop talking—from saying the pickup truck was a family generation car that had been passed down to him, and he would pass it down to his son.

None of that really concerned Xuan, but he couldn't just tell the man to stop talking, so he just wished to arrive at Teras quickly.

With the universe fulfilling his wish again, they finally arrived at Teras. Xuan thanked the man and began walking towards the gate.

"Jesus," the man looked at the picture again and looked back at Xuan, who would soon enter Teras. "I hope I carried the right person."

As Xuan stepped through the portal, he arrived at the sanctuary—the second time he was entering here—and still looked impressed about the surroundings.

"Hey, it's Milker!"

Xuan heard two people say as they walked past him. He was looking for a girl. Although Mr. Shaung said it wouldn't be hard, Xuan hadn't seen any girl with white hair and red eyes.

Meanwhile...

Mei Long was standing at the side, under a building close to the entrance of the gate. She was waiting there patiently for the little child she saw in the picture.

But her patience was reaching its limit. Her toes were already giving the sign of that. Directing her attention, she heard a group of people surrounding one spot and shouting.

Then she saw a similar person to the one in the picture. It was Xuan—losing the fight to a man who had named him Milker the day he was looking for the God gene.

He didn't know the man would still want him dead after all these days passed. By activating his gene, the man's two hands transformed into green draconic claws.

"I told you it wasn't over."

"Yes, kill the fucker!"

"Yeaaaa, I'm pretty sure he's responsible for Goddess Soo Jin's condition in the hospital!"

Xuan kept hearing false accusations against him. Now would be a perfect time for any auto gene activation, thought Xuan.

Before he could react, the man slashed his claw, aiming for Xuan's neck, but he quickly dodged down—and was unable to avoid the knee sinking into his face.

Xuan fell down with a little bruise on his face, while the man was grinning devilishly and the people were increasing his fighting spirit to go on.

"Stop, something's about to happen," said Xuan. He had his palm stretched out, protecting his face.

"And what's that?" his opponent nonchalantly asked and just shrugged it off.

-[Warning: Player has taken a hit]

-[Warning: The hit has been converted to God gene combustion Lv. 01]

-[Warning: Combustion will explode in 0.1 seconds after activating 'Burst', covering 10-meter radius for Level 01]

Xuan yelled for everyone to step back, but they were laughing at him. He didn't know anything he had just read, but he knew combustion meant for something to explode. Was it him exploding?

"Kill the guy already, Tao Lei!"

"Burst!" Xuan yelled, and immediately the words settled on their ears—boom—a golden aura emitted from Xuan's body, and his eyes glowed gold as well.

The aftermath was the people surrounding him getting slammed in different directions and into stores. Xuan couldn't believe he had just done that.

But before he could think of anything again, Mei Long quickly picked him up. "Come with me, quickly."
