Chapter: 12, Will of a Returnee
In the middle of the vast dark sea, Sunny, Nephis and Cassie, who heard their conversation, got out and sat down.
Cassie was very anxious; she understood the basics of their conversation. Wanting to know more she asked "Sunny, both I and Nephis know you had feelings for someone. After all, we are childhood friends; can you tell us more about your past life?"
Nephis nodded and said "That's right; we want to know more about the future or we won't be able to change anything."
Sunny looked at them, her face darkening. Just remembering her failure to save both humanity and the person she loved was something very painful for her to remember. Suppressing the bitterness, Sunny started explaining her past life.

Sunny looked at him with shock written all over his eyes. She saw Mark leaving with Kai and Effie, so how was he here?
Mark looked at her with a gentle smile and asked "Remember what I said back then?"
Sunny, remembering Mark's confession, asked "What?" her body involuntarily moving towards the gate.
Mark looked away at the vast expanse of the forgotten shore, his eyes dimming in light and said with hesitation "I made a selfish decision."
Sunny's eyes were locked onto him "I decided that if I cannot be with all the people I love, or if I cannot be with all of you, I would rather be with no one than to choose one and discard the other."
With sunny's angry eyes looking at him, he looked at her "I know you will resent or even hate me for this but I hope you do"
As sunny's body was only a few seconds away from touching the shimmering gate, Mark looked at her and with a sad smile said the last words she heard from him "Even though I have feelings for all of you and that mysterious girl I don't really know, it is true that I do love you. Goodbye, hope we meet again."
Hearing those words, Sunny's body touched the shimmering gate with tears in her eyes as she appeared in the familiar dark space.

"After a few months in the waking world, we found that mark became hollow." In the present time, Sunny said to the two individuals.
Both of them were silent for a moment before saying "So, that's how he died. I know for sure that you were not strong enough to create that memory right after that. How did the Humanity end? And how did you create that memory?"

And his father never returned. To save rain from the truth or she might already know, they sent her to live with her father's best friend who was a government official and also marks father.
Sunny wanted to meet him early, but she needed to be strong to get ready for the forgotten shore. She also connected both Cassie and nephis.
