Chapter 12 - CHAPTER ELEVEN

Sharlene only had two days of rest, and then her wonderful husband came home. Besides, there wouldn't be any difference if Martin were with her in their house. Besides, they each have their own schedules and leave when they go to work.

Nothing has changed. Sharlene would just shake her head at herself back then. Besides, she was trying to avoid becoming stressed, because she still needed to make up for it, and she knew she also needed to return to the school where she was being taught.

Ashley was still with her as she entered, and she still felt a shiver run down her spine whenever she remembered that Ashley was wearing a hospital gown.

Sharlene, you need to avoid putting your child in danger. It was just a thought in her mind.

Sharlene also escorted her child to the classroom and gave Ashley some instructions. She was about to leave when the adviser called her regarding her child.

"Good morning, Mrs. Francisco." The adviser of her child greeted her.

Sharlene just smiled. "Good morning too, Ma'am," was her only response. She noticed that she was catching her breath.

It can be seen that the teacher is really being awaited this morning; maybe what she has to say is important. She just waited for her to recover; the person in front of her only sighed.

She just chuckled softly.

"Take your time, ma'am," she simply said to her.

She doesn't have any classes today, so she's not in a hurry to attend class.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am." She noticed that she was holding a piece of paper.

The teacher immediately handed it to her. "Here is the parents' consent for the children to have a field trip."

Sharlene furrowed her brow; she read its contents, and it was a parents' consent form for the parents and the school. They would have a field trip on Friday, but it was just a half-day and an educational tour, and it's not far at all.

She just nodded.

"Aren't there any parents who will come here, Ma'am?" She politely asked the teacher in front of her.

"Unfortunately, ma'am, we don't allow their guardians to accompany them during that time because they need to explore without a guardian watching over them," the teacher explained.

"And besides, those kids only have half a day."

She is thinking about whether to allow her child to join the field trip.

"Is that compulsory, ma'am? Is it really necessary for the child to be present?" she continues asking.

The teacher only nodded. "Yes, Ma'am, it's compulsory because it's part of the program now," the teacher explained the details with a lot of patience on her part.

She looked at the young Ashley, who was looking at her through the classroom window.

Ashley will be pitiful if I don't allow her to join. She just said to herself and sighed.

Sharlene looked at the parents' consent again, fished out a ballpoint pen from her pocket, immediately took the ballpoint pen, signed it, and then handed it back to the adviser.

It has also obtained the parents' consent.

"Thank you very much, Ma'am." The teacher said politely to her.

Sharlene just smiled and bowed as a sign of respect to her fellow teacher, then left. She waved at the child peeking at her in the window, and the child waved back with a big smile. The teacher of her child also entered, and she, too, returned to the high school department to prepare her things for teaching.

Her class for today is Senior High School now, so she took the book.

Ashley is only a child once. She could only say to herself back then.

The bell rang, and she was about to prepare for her class this morning. She also walked around the campus to go to the class she would be teaching now.

While she was walking, she thought about the unresolved problems at home, especially in their marriage. She doesn't know, but her husband is saying that they should get a divorce because their relationship is no longer working out.

I really want to go out, Martin. But think of our child! If you can bear that kind of thinking, I can't hurt Ashley's innocent mind. It was only said in her mind.

She knows that they are just living under one roof to be called a complete family, but Sharlene's family is already broken. She is just holding on for the sake of her child. Even if she forces her family to be okay, it will never be okay.

They often argue at home; she tries to prevent the fight from escalating because she doesn't want her child to see it, but her clever husband keeps pushing her, forcing her not to react, not to fight back, even if it means getting hurt by his words. She can endure all of that for her child so it won't lose its father.

I hope that man thinks the same way. She just said it.

Sharlene didn't notice that she was already in front of the classroom; she looked at the section and its grades, and she didn't go to the wrong place. She immediately entered.

The class fell silent when she entered. She was organizing her things, and they were already standing even before she told them to stand.

Sharlene just sighed. She has no motivation today, but she needs to teach; she needs to set aside her personal problems. The students were just staring at her, waiting.

"Who is assigned today?" She asked.

A hand was raised and went to the front; that's really the usual scenario as a teacher.

They first had an activity, reviewed it, and had a discussion, and then there was a short quiz. When she heard the bell, she immediately left the class.

She had an hour, so she went to the faculty room and sat at her desk, quietly staring at the piled-up tasks. Ever since she took leave to arrange her grandmother Felicia's grave and tomb, her normal days of always being focused at school would return.

She let out a sigh, as she was the only one left in the faculty room because the other teachers were in class. She was filling out forms when something caught her attention, and she stared at the door.

That's just your imagination again, Sharlene. She scolded herself, busy with what she was doing now.

I still need to catch up on the work I left behind here. She just sighed.

Sharlene heard a loud noise, so she was startled and puzzled. She quickly went to where she heard the noise earlier. When she went out, there was no one there, and she was about to go back when she saw a woman with her back turned to her.

Sharlene's forehead furrowed; she saw the student that was wearing a junior high school uniform.

"Go back to your class now." That's all she said, thinking maybe this person was skipping class. It didn't answer.

"What grade are you in?" she asked again.

Suddenly, it turned to her, its face looking sad.

She is already waiting for you. After saying that, it suddenly disappeared like a bubble from her sight, and her arm hair suddenly stood on end. Sharlene hurriedly returned to her desk and stared at it for a long time, wondering if she had dreamed it or if what she saw was real.

Why is this ability bothering me again? asked herself.

She just sighed, but she still couldn't understand who was waiting for her.
