Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 (Bonus chapter)

{A/N: I made a mistake, I didn't expect to get 100 powerstones so quickly. Honestly, I'm not even upset about that, I mean I'm HIm. But I have other novels which had also got the 100 powerstones, and one is nearly 150 powerstones. So, 100 power stones per chapter. But I will be giving you guys the 2 bonus chapters today.}

"Subject: Alex. No last name. No parents. Oddly has lived on his own since he was five years old," Batman spoke into the recorder while reviewing the report.

"There is little record about Alex—it's as if he just appeared on the streets of Gotham. It's unknown how he got his money or how he found a place to stay. What is known is that he was a skinny, weak kid, making him an easy target at school. He was bullied…" Batman paused, eyes narrowing at the next part of the file.

"But one day, the bullying was about to turn physical… and the bully dropped dead."

"After that day, Alex was avoided by most students. He got into several fights, which eventually led to multiple suspensions," Batman said lightly, recording his notes as he read through the file.

"It should be noted that whenever Alex fought back, no one died. But when he refused to fight, people would end up dead if they tried to harm him. And the deaths didn't stop there—those who tried to do something to him would drop dead… and sometimes, their parents would follow. This led the police to believe it was genetic, and that Alex had nothing to do with it." Batman paused, switching to a later portion of the report.

"Nine years ago, Alex had enough of being an outcast in Gotham. Using funds from an unknown source, he moved to Metropolis… where people soon began dropping dead again—for seemingly no reason."

Another pause.

"It was likely around that time Alex realized that simply running wouldn't change anything. So, he began working out. At the same time, he moved to Washington, hoping to start over once more. This time, the bullying stopped… and no more unexplained deaths were reported."

Batman's eyes narrowed as he sat back in his chair.

"Until today. With Trigon." He took a quiet breath, letting the weight of it settle, before continuing.

"I've broken Alex's powers down into three parts," Batman said, his voice calm and analytical as his eyes moved over the data on the screen.

"1. Defensive. Alex's power appears to act on its own to protect him—but only from true threats. Minor harm or fistfights don't seem to trigger it. If his power defended him from all attacks, the students who fought him in school would've died. In other words, engaging Alex while he perceives someone as an equal may not activate his abilities.

Offensive. Trigon wasn't actively trying to harm Alex—yet he still died. Alex's power likely didn't trigger in direct defense, since Flash pulled him out of danger. Trigon, at that moment, held no intent to attack. This mirrors what happened back in Gotham, when parents of those who targeted Alex died far away from him. Based on the pattern, Alex should have killed them... Sensory. Alex seems able to sense danger before it arrives. Earlier today, even before Trigon appeared at his location, Alex had already begun looking around.. I believe he was about to act, likely intending to kill Trigon… but Flash's intervention caused him to pause. Trigon must have sensed it—hence the fear in his final expression."

Batman's eyes narrowed slightly as they swept over the many open tabs on his monitor. Several displayed footage of Alex inside the car, moments before Trigon arrived—captured from multiple street cameras. In each one, Alex could be seen scanning his surroundings, visibly alert.

There was more evidence. But Batman didn't need all of it.

"There may be more to Alex's power," Batman continued, his voice steady, "but so far, three core abilities have been observed: the power to kill anything that intends to harm him, the power to kill instantly—regardless of proximity or immediate threat—and the power to sense danger before it arrives."

He paused, letting those words settle before continuing. "As powerful as Alex is, there are still ways to deal with him."

"Sealing. It wouldn't trigger his defensive ability, and if executed properly, it could bypass his danger sense entirely."

"Banishment. Teleporting Alex far away—so long as the destination doesn't pose a threat—wouldn't activate his powers. Displacement without harm may be a viable option."

"Non-living weapons. A robot, for example—something without life—could bypass his powers. A machine cannot be 'killed' in the traditional sense." Batman's eyes narrowed as he ran through the possibilities in his mind, already starting to formulate contingency plans.

"Another way to deal with Alex is through environmental damage, although that might trigger his senses. Other methods that might work include a skilled fighter capable of concealing their intent, which could bypass his detection. As of now, Alex appears to have no limits to his power. He should be able to kill anyone with a thought and walk away like nothing happened. It doesn't seem to consume mental energy," Batman said lightly.

"The day Alex turns evil… is the day the world might end. Let's be grateful he chooses to live a normal life—and chooses to avoid using his powers, even in extreme moments," Batman added softly, glancing at a picture of Alex's ex-girlfriend.

He ended the recording, then looked over the information again… only to pause. Alex seemed to be getting smarter. But how?

"It wasn't your fault. How were you supposed to deal with a giant foot falling from the sky?" Diana laughed, waving off Alex's unease.

Alex sighed softly in relief. He'd been worried he might get fired—but in hindsight, a car wasn't nearly as valuable to the company as he was. He'd stressed over nothing.

"Today's your day off. Go home and enjoy it," Diana said. "I know you were looking forward to those games of yours, but just because your computer was destroyed doesn't mean you can't find something else to do… Honestly, I don't understand the point of games."

Alex's head snapped up at that.

"You've never played a game before? That's like saying you've never read a book. They're basically the same thing—an escape from reality," Alex said, a spark of passion in his voice.

Diana raised an eyebrow. It was the first time she'd seen him speak with such enthusiasm. It was… kind of cute.

"You look like a Greek mythology topic come to life—I've got the perfect game for you," Alex said quickly.

Diana opened her mouth to protest. She truly had no interest in games. But seeing how eager he was, she sighed and nodded. She didn't want to kill his excitement.

So, Alex quickly moved beside her and opened a browser tab, searching for a game called Blood of Zeus. And no—it had no connection to the TV show he'd watched in his past life, aside from the main character being the bastard son of Zeus.

"This…" Diana paused, eyes locked on the game trailer. It was like watching history—the age when gods walked the earth in flesh and blood. The game felt alive, magical. It featured three main maps: Earth, Mount Olympus, and the Underworld. Each one was vast, the size of a real-world city.

"I always wanted to play this one, but it's only out on PC… I was so close," Alex said, quietly cursing Trigon for ruining his chance.

Diana said nothing. Her eyes remained on the trailer, reading the words as they appeared on screen—how players could create their own character, male or female. How every choice would shape future events. Or how they could ignore the story entirely and just explore the vast, open world.

From sailing the seas to battling sea monsters, to fighting beasts on land, to unlocking the power of flight—this game had it all. Players could complete challenges set by the gods, striving to one day ascend and become a god themselves. It was packed with content… far beyond anything Alex had ever seen in his past life.

It carried the difficulty of Elden Ring, but with destructible environments, a power system that truly made you feel like a demigod, and so much more.

"Okay, I'll give the game a try. But don't get upset if I don't like it," Diana said, seeing the look of expectation on Alex's face.

"It's multiplayer," Alex added quickly. "There's even a twin option—where you and a friend can be born as twins. Though it comes with a drawback: you can only play when both players are online."

Diana nodded helplessly, already feeling herself getting pulled into something she hadn't planned on.

"That sounds good, since I'm sure I won't know what I'm doing," Diana said, and Alex nodded immediately. There was nothing better than watching a non-gamer try a game for the first time—and it would be his job to make sure she enjoyed it.

If she didn't, he'd feel like a complete failure. With that in mind, he rushed home, determined to have everything perfect for when the day finally came.
