Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Itachi's Fall

The Nine Tails' form pressed against the crimson Susanoo.

Naraku drew more strength, and his dark Susanoo enveloped the Nine Tails.

The force of the Nine Tails' Susanoo pushed Itachi with greater intensity.

Initially, he resisted and fought back.

Then, a Tailed Beast Bomb formed in the mouth of the Nine Tails.

Itachi could only observe in despair.

Naraku remarked, "Itachi, you're a fool who has been used for years by the Hokage and indoctrinated with that "Will of Fire" belief. If they were truly altruistic, there wouldn't have been any crisis in Konoha. Why do you oppose the Uchiha?"

It's not that he hadn't hoped to discuss matters with Itachi, but unfortunately, he was unwilling to heed the words.

It caused Naraku to question whether the other party had been previously conditioned by Shisui's Distinguished Heavenly Gods.

Itachi responded, "I understand, this is your perspective. For the sake of the family. . ."

Itachi was subdued and had abandoned resistance.

The Nine Tails released a Tailed Beast Bomb that detonated between the two Susanoos, causing Itachi's already weakened Susanoo to shatter instantly.

Observing Itachi, there was neither struggle nor reluctance in his gaze.

Itachi recalled his past as memories surged within his thoughts.

He and Shisui had been trying to stop the Uchiha coup for years, without success.

Before Shisui died, he told Itachi, "It seems we can't prevent the Uchiha coup; then if a civil war erupts in the Leaf, the other villages will invade for sure, and true war will break out. When I tried to stop all this, Danzo stole my right eye. That man doesn't trust me at all and intends to protect the village his way. I'll give you my other eye. You're the only one I can rely on, my best friend. Protect the village and the Uchiha name!"

However, even after realizing Danzo's role in this, Itachi still chose to do what he believed was necessary to protect the village.

If Konoha were to fall, then Sasuke—and what remained of his family—would have nowhere to retreat.

After Shisui's demise, the Uchiha held him responsible. Itachi began to harbor even more resentment towards them.

Itachi observed the Uchiha growing increasingly unstable with each passing day. He couldn't comprehend why the Uchiha sought rebellion.

Eventually, he lost faith in the possibility of saving the Uchiha clan.

Itachi now felt a slight sense of relief. Everything would come to an end, and he would be free from any ties, whether it pertained to the will of fire or anything else.

Yet, in the end, he seemed to desire to see Sasuke once more.

Itachi's Susanoo vanished, and he plummeted to the ground.
