"Urgh, my head."Jichang groaned, clutching his skull as a throbbing pain pounded through it like a sledgehammer. His brain felt like it had been through a blender. Squinting against the harsh light flooding the room, he blinked a few times, vision slowly adjusting.
"What the hell…?" he muttered, his eyes narrowing as the blur sharpened. Is that... Apollo?
Apollo's face was exactly five centimeters away from his, staring at him with the concerned intensity one might offer a wounded kitten.
"Are you a fine snake?" he asked, scrunching his face in confusion.
That's when it hit Jichang—what had happened. This bastard…After babbling about combining their techniques mid-fight, the maniac had actually pulled it off.
Jichang remembered nothing after the kick landed.
Apollo shook his head. "You fainted. You're lucky I didn't aim for your head."
Jichang's eyes widened. That meant Apollo had successfully merged their styles in real time.
He wanted to ask how, but held himself back. "So... you stole my technique and now you're gloating," he said, shooting him a glare.
Apollo sighed. At least Jichang wasn't giving up like he did with James. "Well, I'm just glad you're alright, buddy."
As Apollo turned to leave, Jichang grabbed his hand. "Remember why I agreed to this spar?"
Apollo nodded.
"The funds from the bully system won't cut it. It'll take a year at best to raise enough starter capital." Jichang's eyes sharpened.
Apollo gently pulled his hand away and placed it on Jichang's shoulder. "Don't worry about that, friend. Just focus on healing. Tomorrow... we're going to Daegu."
With that, Apollo left him to rest, stepping out with a quiet resolve.
As he walked out, he sighed, I wonder how strong Gongseob Ji is now... With his boxing and Iron Fortress defense, he should be near Jichang's level. What worried Apollo the most, though, was Gongseob's counter.
Even James Lee—master of Invisible attack—had praised it.
Regardless, Apollo felt a rush of excitement. Tomorrow, he would finally meet the King of Daegu.

The next morning.
Three figures sat in a run-down bus. The seats were hard and cheap—like most of the people who rode them. The paint on the walls was chipped, stained, and long past its prime.
"You really brought me here, Apollo?"
Taesoo Ma's loud, brash voice shattered any calm Apollo might've had.
"I didn't know it'd be this bad either," Apollo replied with a frustrated sigh, eyes shifting to the window.
Taesoo crossed his arms. "How did you even become business partners with this cheapskate?"
"I was tricked," Jichang deadpanned. "But I'm a man of my word, so now I'm stuck."
"You seriously fu—"
Apollo gritted his teeth. He hadn't been this annoyed since the day began. And it had not gone how he expected.
Earlier that morning.
It wasn't hard for Apollo to find Taesoo Ma. He'd tracked down Hudson and bullied the poor kid into giving up his master's exact location.
When Apollo asked Taesoo to come with him to Daegu, Taesoo only had one question:"Are we fighting someone?"
Apollo nodded. That was all it took.
Without another word, Taesoo dropped his training and followed Apollo to Seoul, where they arranged to meet Jichang.
Apollo waved as they entered the familiar, empty playground where he and Jichang had sparred just days ago. "Yo, Jichang! We're here!"
Jichang raised an eyebrow. "We?"
Looking up, he saw a tall, muscular man in a fur jacket behind Apollo. The jacket looked like it had been dragged through a slaughterhouse—dried animal blood still visible on the hem.
Jichang stood and extended a hand toward the man, glancing at Apollo for an explanation.
"Jichang, this is Taesoo Ma—the King of Ansan. Taesoo, meet the King of Seoul."
Taesoo gave a simple nod. The moment he laid eyes on Jichang, he recognized him as a real threat.
Strength respected strength.
Apollo brought them together. "Alright, guys. Our bus to Daegu is late. Let's go."
On the way, the three chatted. Jichang asked about Taesoo's fighting style.
Taesoo raised his fist in response.
Jichang nodded as if that was the clearest answer in the world.
Weirdos, Apollo thought as he watched them. Still, he was relieved they weren't trying to kill each other.
He exhaled. Time to meet Gongseob Ji.
Later that day.
"Why are we in a brothel?" Taesoo asked, confusion etched on his face. "Didn't you say we were going to fight someone?"
Apollo nodded. "We are. He just... has a habit of visiting places like this."
He still found it hard to believe this man would one day become a monk.
Any moment now...
And sure enough, right on schedule, a tall man with braided hair strolled out of the building.
Braids weren't common in Korea, but Gongseob Ji wore them like a statement. He sported a green sweater and bright orange sunglasses perched on his head. Two women trailed behind him, giggling.
He walked out like he owned the place.
Apollo stepped into his path with a smirk. "Gongseob."
The man stopped, raising an irritated eyebrow. "Who the fuck are you, asshole?"
Jichang and Taesoo stepped up behind Apollo.
"Your future partners," Jichang said with a grin.
The King of Daegu was about to be tested.
