After having brushed his teeth, taken a shit and washed away all of his stress, did he pick up the letter and go upstairs.
When he finally reached the top of the stairs, he opened the door and entered his bedroom. It was a squared room with a one-person bed in the upper-right corner with a drawer on its left side. On the opposite side, in the middle, stood a desk resting upon two drawers. It had books placed upon it, countless notes of the book of Ereshkigal, cups of dried coffee and a gas lamp resting on the upper corner. A study place without question.
Sythrik's grip tightened as he walked over to his desk, placing the invitation letter inside his drawer.
He walked over to his bed with a sigh in toe, tired and exhausted.
"She really had to inform in the last minute... I could probably leave a few days later, however, the expenses wouldn't allow it. The best option would be to leave alongside Sennan, but there's the inheritance problem and Caius' small amount of time on earth..." With a sigh, he continued his inner monologue, "whatever the best decision is, I'll make it tomorrow, or even the day after that. Its simply too much considering my current mental fatigue due to the excessive reading..."
After a slight pause, as he undressed himself, now only in his underwear, did he sit down on the edge of his bed for a small moment after finally covering himself beneath his bedsheet.
He closed his eyes, seeing only black as he gradually started dozing off. His whole form started to relax and soon, his mind.
...
"Tell sir Caius of the letter." A mysterious, almost eerie voice spooked him awake.
"Who's there!?!?" He roared as he jumped out of the bed, striking a defensive pose. However, to his surprise, there was none in sight.
Despite the darkened space rendering his eyes worthless, he could not even feel the presence of a single rat, let alone an insect.
"Just what was that?" he muttered as his once tense muscles started laxing. After a quick realization, he muttered once more, "no, rather, 'who' was that?"
Sythrik went to check the clock, using the pocket watch he had put atop his desk. And as he did, he came to a single conclusion, "it must have been a dream."
He picked up the pocket watch and realized that it hadn't even been and hour since he went to bed. With that, he put away the pocket watch and covered himself in his bedsheets and sealed his vision once more.
Before finally taking his peaceful rest, did he think, "maybe I should tell Caius, for safety's sake."
...
Morning approached, and rays of light shone through his one window, resting it's peaceful grace upon Sythrik's desk. The light illuminated not only the desk, but almost the whole room, awakening Sythrik from his slumber.
"Its morning already?" Sythrik's voice struggled to muster as his body resisted his stand.
He forced himself up and dressed up in another linen shit and black trousers then the ones he wore the day before. He went down to the bathroom and prepare for his day-brushing his teeth, taking a dump, washing his face and then his hands.
With that, he walked outside after having put on two of his most used shoes, and braced himself for the incoming ray of brilliance by putting an arm above his eyes.
"Seems the people Lorath is blessed with yet another bountiful day." He said as he traversed toward the local library.
Upon his entry, he gently took of his footwear and headed inside to search for more content regarding both death, Ereshkigal, life, and even about Silas, the god, and ruler of spirits and their world.
...
After having searched for about thirty minutes, did he come to a realization, "come to think of it, I haven't seen Lynette here today. She usually works five days a week and today is Wednesday I believe... Well, she has her own problems and life to deal with. can't repeat the same week for an eternity I guess."
Sythrik took a deep sigh and paused for a moment, before finally acknowledging a fact he wished to oppose, "this library has nothing more to offer... Maybe I should accompany Sennan to the capital, there must be at least thrice the amount of content of Ereshkigal there, and especially regarding her book, or grimoire or whatever."
He placed back the small amounts of books he had borrowed, then, he traversed back outside after having put his shoes back on. He strolled back to his workplace and sat down on the wall-leaning sofa after having placed a piece of paper, and a fountain pen atop the table.
He picked up the fountain pen and dipped it in black ink before lining it up against the paper. As he was about to write, a voice echoed through the room, "Sythrik?", startling Sythrik, resulting in him dropping his pen on top of the paper, forming an unintentional black line across the paper.
Sythrik found relief as he turned around, seeing Caius and not a random man that had barged inside. "Phew, its just you Caius."
Old man Caius chuckled warmly before saying, "pardon me, I was just really surprised to see you here so early. Why aren't you at the local library reading about the goddess of death?"
Sythrik, now relaxed and at ease, answered with a tone devoid og hope, "I would be, however, there is nothing more to gather. No hints, nor information."
Caius emphasized with him for a second before asking, "did you find anything worthwhile after your many hours of gathering?"
With a neutral expression, Sythrik replied, "I did find some interesting things, but nothing too extravagant." Sythrik nodded left and right twice before continuing, "however, there was one thing that stood out among the countless books I have read." Caius raised an eyebrow as he sat down in the sofa opposite of Sythrik. "There was this one author that left advise instead of information, as if he himself had set out on the same path as I. sadly, the advises was written cryptically, thus I found myself in confusion and irritation. To be honest, I found myself lashing out on the author momentarily... It was embarrassing even though there was no prying eyes."
"Haha, is that so?" Caius mused as he continued, "Lashing out on a simple author because of a text that could prevail false is truly astonishing."
Sythrik's face reddened as he lowered his gaze. After a little moment of silence, and the small sips Caius took from his black coffee, did he finally speak, "Caius, there's something I have to tell you..."
Caius eyes widened, sensing something that seemed important to Sythrik. "What is it?"
After a deep sigh, and a raised head that met Caius' gaze, did he say, "I received an invitation letter from my sister."
