Chapter 6 - Port Battle

It was ten o'clock at night. By now, everyone in the headquarters was fast asleep, except for Danso. Danso woke up, put on his Red Samurai suit, and proceeded to leave the headquarters, disabling the CCTV cameras for a brief moment to conceal his true identity. Once outside, he used his Sword Art's passive ability to create fire underneath his legs that boosted him up to a nearby tall skyscraper like a rocket. He sat on top of the skyscraper and wore his contact lenses that allow him to view everything and give details about everything he's viewing with the help of artificial intelligence, basically alerting him when a crime occurs.

Three years of being a night vigilante turned the Red Samurai into a symbol of fear that only a few can dare to fight. When the sun runs away below the horizon, all crimes suddenly stop, as they don't know where the Red Samurai could be at any time. He was Lukia's silent guardian, a symbol of blood that could be feared or challenged.

Meanwhile, the infamous drug cartel of Sudimous was making a move on the port. Many workers were loading the carts into the ship, trying to make it leave the city of Akuza. If it stays any longer, the safety of the drugs will decrease, and the risk of losing the contract that they made with Baltrax will increase. All the men were tiptoeing across the port, trying to make as little noise as possible.

"Hey, do the work quickly," ordered one of the workers to the other worker.

"I am trying, it's not easy to export this much amount of drugs," whispered the other worker.

Suddenly, a loud metallic bang was heard. The sound echoed within the port, reverberating across the walls of the containers. A moment of silence crept up in the port, creating a sense of nervousness and fear.

"Could he be here?" said one worker, shakingly.

"Quick, go report this to the Port's head right now. He is also corrupt like us. He should help us," said another worker.

One worker decided to go alone to the Port's main administrative office on the other end of the port. He had a map, so directions weren't an issue. Then, after walking further, the worker stumbled upon a metallic pipe on the ground. He laughed and realised the sound was the metallic pipe and picked it up gently. He walked back to the rest of the workers, then realised none of them were there. The place was empty, and a gust of cold wind brushed over his clothes.

"What? Guys, this better not be another prank!" exclaimed the worker as his words escaped to the emptiness of the port with nothing but the harsh wind being the response to his words.

Suddenly, the Red Samurai leaps from above the worker, knocking him out in an instant, then he hides the bodies before walking towards the containers to bust the operation once and for all. The Samurai uses his passive ability to melt the lock and open the container doors, inside it filled with dust and white substances. Disgusted, the Samurai takes a thrown out fishing net from the harbor and ties all the workers with it and puts them near the port containers.

"I still have no evidence pointing this towards Sudimous," thought Danso.

Danso knew that there were containers filled with illegal substances due to his contacts who picked up on the chemicals while he was patrolling the streets looking for crime. He knew that there were six containers since only six containers had the chemicals. Then he decided to use his biggest advantage, the darkness, to his advantage, increasing all of the workers' nervousness and fear by making the sound so that they couldn't think and fight clearly. They will all be stuck in the anxiousness of the situation and mess up in a fight, making the Samurai's job easier.

"There's still one more container I didn't open", Danso realised as he stared at the blood red container opposite to him.

Danso walked towards it and pulled open the door, but it was locked from inside. He then used his sword and sliced open the entrance in two and barged in. The container was empty.

"It must have been a fake! That means the sixth one must be…" Danso thought as he ran towards the port harbor and glared at the boat departing.

"Sword Art of the Dragon:- Dragon Wings," said Danso as two fiery wings appeared from his back and started flapping, creating enough motion to thrust him off the ground.

Danso flew towards the boat as fast as he could, as bullets started raining towards him, as the workers on the boat were trying to stop him. Then he saw a man, an executive of the Sudimous company and a servant of Sudimous, standing on the boat with his badge glowing in the darkness of the night. Danso landed on the boat as the executive gave him zero time to think and attacked him with his fists. The executive's first punch landed, sending Danso flying to the far end of the boat. The badge more clearly visible, read Nahiro Kugirama, one of the five servants of Sudimous. The man then dashed towards a grounded Danso and started to beat him up.

"So this is the great Red Samurai we all should be afraid of at night. A couple of victories and fame don't make you all that strong," mocked Nahiro.

As Nahiro was about to punch Danso once more and break his helmet, Danso grabbed his wrist and twisted it, making Nahiro squeal in pain. with the remaining hand, he punched Nahiro and flipped him over. Nahiro reacted quickly and slapped Danso away, creating a distance between the two. The remaining workers came and started helping Nahiro, firing bullets at him as Nahiro proceeded to dodge.

"Fighting dirty? Are you that desperate for a win?" laughed Danso.

"A fight is a fight, be prepared for the worst, if you cannot understand that you are just a weak child," defended Nahiro.

"Fine," responded Danso while dodging all the bullets, blocking Nahiro's dodge and simultaneous punch, and throwing him away from himself.

"Sword Art of the Dragon:- Ash Clouds," said Danso as smoke started clouding the boat, blocking everyone's vision.

Since Danso had his contacts, he could still see clearly, while the rest of the workers started firing at the clouds, blindly, without any aim or sense of accuracy. Nahiro punched the clouds, clearing the dust. After the dust settled, the Red Samurai was nowhere to be found.

"He must have run off! Scaredy cat" laughed Nahiro.

Nahiro then turned around to see all the workers having a scar on their chest and on the ground, bleeding. He then proceeded to look up and saw the Red Samurai perched on the boat's sail, waiting for Nahiro to notice him.

"You're pretty tough to face, I guess I'll use my trump card," said Nahiro

The Red Samurai then lunged towards Nahiro, without giving him any time to think or react.

"Sword Art of the Dragon:- Dragon's Claw," said Danso as he sliced Nahiro's chest just as Nahiro was uttering the excutionary action words for his sorcery ability.

"You're crazy to think I'll give you any time to activate your 'trump card,'" said Danso.

The Red Samurai drove the boat back to the port and tied it to the anchor in the harbor of the port. He then tied Nahiro to the same fishing net he had tied the rest of the workers in and went back to the city rooftops.

"That was quick with no setbacks," pondered the Red Samurai. "I should find other crimes," exclaimed the Samurai as he left to fulfil other tasks.

The next morning, Danso woke up with two hours of sleep. Normally, he sleeps during the morning until the afternoon, and then he does his 'Danso Narahara' work and sleeps until dinner, when he becomes the Red Samurai and fights crime. The cycle continues over and over again. Danso goes out of his room and views the giant television that Tensei and Haruki are watching.

"The infamous Red Samurai strikes again! He caught one drug cartel, but we still don't know if he can be trusted or not! The police need to investigate and capture him! We don't need a vigilante when we have actual organisations as our security!" ranted a lady on the television.

"Yeah sure, they can work as your security, three years back this city was absolute filth, after me, Hiroshi, and I came, we cleaned it up a bit, and now it is way better than it was before," thought Danso.

"Danso! You wanna play video games today?" asked Haruki.

"Maybe later I'll sleep after eating," replied Danso.

"I'll play with you," said Tensei to Haruki.

"Oh, someone decided to grow up and be a family man," teased Danso.

"Go back and sleep like a baby," replied Tensei as they both glared at each other.

"Enough is Enough!" said a lady wearing a doctor's suit.

Instantly, all the ruckus in the hall turned into silence as Haruki and Tensei got up and went into Haruki's room to waste time. Danso stayed still and looked at the television to reduce the awkwardness of the situation.

"You must be the second trial guy, Danso Narahara, right?" asked the lady.

"Yes," replied Danso.

"I can see you're getting along with all the members nicely! I am Nastuki Himena, the medic of the DMMS, and I have a favor for you! If you complete it, you get my vote to keep you in the squad," proposed Natsuki.

"Alright, what is it?" questioned Danso.

"There is a house burning down in uptown. Since you can control the fire, I need you to go and clean up the mess there," asked Natsuki.

"Okay, I'll be on my way after breakfast," said Danso.

"Take your time, I am sure it'll be there for a while," assured Natsuki.
