Chapter 6 - Florian

—-----------William's POV—--------------------

Going out to explore the surroundings I was no longer in time but in the garden outside, but in an abandoned garden.

Weeds covered the ground, and the remains of once vibrant flowerbeds were now just dry earth.

Going back inside I came across a worn marble statue—faceless, without identity—waiting.

And in front of it, only one person.

A girl after being attacked by a man I decided to help her, using my power to make roses grow and learn the man.

Looking at the girl I noticed that she was still quiet so I told her that I had helped her she looked at the trapped guy with a look of satisfaction as she watched him scream in pain, this gave me a slight interest in her.

Brown hair tied in rustic braids, calloused hands holding a cracked bucket of water. Her eyes, green as young leaves, widened as the statue came to life—as my face replaced the blankness.

"God of Spring has arrived!" She didn't scream. She didn't faint. She just whispered, as if she feared I would disappear if I spoke too loudly.

I smiled.

"Maria, is it?"

She swallowed hard. "How…how do you know my name?"

"The God of Spring knows every flower in your garden," I lied softly. "Including you."

Her face flushed.

I decided then that rather than introduce myself as a god, it would be better to simply be a messenger. Someone close. Someone who could walk among them without frightening them.

"My name is Florian, the messenger of the God of Spring," she said, plucking a single wilted flower from the ground. With a touch, she revived the petals, blossoming into ruby hues. "And I have come to bring life back to this place."

Maria fell to her knees—not out of fear, but out of hope.

"How…how can I serve the God of Spring?"

I reached out, and a scroll appeared—not a book of magic, not a glowing artifact.

Just seeds.

"Plant these," I commanded. "And when the first flower blooms, recite these words."

And then, I taught her the prayer:

"O God of Flowers, Lord of Petals and Roots,

May your scent guide our hands and your nectar nourish our land.

Bring forth life where there is drought, and color where there is gray.

In your name, we will cultivate an eternal garden."

As soon as the words were finished, the seeds in her hands glowed.

And then, something happened.

The barren ground beneath our feet trembled.

And from within the earth, a single rose sprouted—red as blood, but as bright as the sun.

Maria wept.

And for the first time since I arrived, I felt something different.

Power.

But not the kind Galen or Nalu sought.

It was something deeper.

Something only a Flower God would understand.
