It was on a whim, there was nothing else to it.
She had always been strong for as long as she can remember, but she barely uses her powers except for the bare minimum. It wouldn't be a stretch to say even she is not aware of what she is capable of but she knows she is capable of a lot.
So on a whim, she reached out into her Infinity and searched. The fates hold no sway over her so it truly was on a whim. And on that whim, she searched.
What was she searching for?
Nothing.
She wasn't searching for anything.
But then she found something.
Something more.
An impossibility.
A possibility.
An impossible possibility.
Infinity encompasses everything. It doesn't begin. It doesn't end.
Infinity just is.
But yet what she had found was something her Infinity held no power over.
How novel.
She has seen it all but even to her eyes, this was new.
She had only ever desired monotony and her silence but when she had laid her eyes on this impossible possibility from the worlds that are but a fraction of her Infinity, she desired something strongly for the first time.
She wanted it for herself.
She desired it for herself.
She must have it for herself.
Even more so than the gaps between dimensions.
It almost felt like it had been tailor made for her through sheer happenstance.
This beautiful soul. This enigmatic paradox. This contradiction.
Can she love it?
No, she loves it.
Would it love her back?
Yes, it would. She would make it so.
Ahhh, she wants to hold it in her hands.
Feel it's warmth, see it's flaws. It's happiness, it's sorrows.
She wants to unravel every part of it.
Little soul, why do you shine so?
Would you shine brighter beside me?
She reached a hand to touch it but for someone who is not herself, Infinity can be too much.
The closer her finger gets, the more cracks starts to appear on it, so she pulled back.
How wicked the antinomy that it would receive and deny her blessing at the same time.
It doesn't matter though.
She would wait.
She would watch every second of it.
From this point till it's death and no matter how many lives it would live, she would savor it's tears while cursing those who caused it, she would enjoy it's happiness and delight even as she would lament that she is not the reason for it, she would watch it's growth as her heart grows fonder.
And when it finally arrived in this plane, she would have it. She would love it. She would cradle it on her arms. She would give it her everything and she would receive its everything in turn.
Nobody else would have it. Nobody else can have it. She wouldn't let anyone have it.
It doesn't matter how long it takes, for 'how long?' doesn't matter to her Infinity.
And Infinity would have her desire.
