Chapter 40 - A ribbon of gratitude

ELI

I wasn't going to let another day pass without doing something, anything to show Damir just how much he meant to me.

He built me an amusement park. An actual amusement park, just for me. Not just slides and rides, but popcorn machines, snack stands, cotton candy carts, people who called me sir and smiled like they were actually happy to see me every day. And the way Damir watched me, smiling like he'd built the whole damn thing just to see my dimples appear….it made my heart ache. In a good way.

I'd fallen harder for him than I ever thought possible. And after everything, what happened that night, the pain, the incident with the semen, the hospital, I thought intimacy would terrify me. But not with Damir. He made me feel safe again. And more than that, I wanted him. I wanted to give myself to him again, not out of pressure or fear, but out of overwhelming love and gratitude.

So… I turned to the most reliable friend I had for desperate situations: Google.

"How to seduce your partner."

"Sexy surprise ideas for boyfriend."

"How to beg your partner to sleep with you again after a long time."

The results? A mix of romantic advice, questionable blog articles, and shockingly a Buzzfeed quiz. I ignored the fluff and took notes: wear something that leaves little to the imagination, smell divine, act confident, speak from the heart.

I chewed my lip as I stared at my phone screen. This wasn't just about seduction. I wanted to thank Damir. Not with words. With my body. With my trust. With everything.

My stomach fluttered with nerves as I stepped into the bathroom and turned on the water, steam filling the space quickly. I let the heat soak into my skin, calming my nerves and softening every tense edge in my body. I shaved carefully, moisturized, and picked the most expensive body oil Damir had ever bought me. It smelled like vanilla, citrus, and something dark and masculine…it made me think of him every time I used it.

Then I slipped into the outfit I'd laid out with shaking hands.

A soft, translucent mesh shirt that did absolutely nothing to hide me. It hung off my shoulders delicately, catching the light like spiderwebs. I wore nothing beneath it.

And down there? Just one thing.

A thick, silky pink ribbon, tied neatly in a bow around my hips, covering me just enough. I blushed as I looked at myself in the mirror. Was this too much? Too bold?

But then I thought of his face when he'd led me through the amusement park, his hand warm against my back, his voice proud.

No. This was just enough.

I sprayed one final mist of cologne at the base of my neck and over the bow, the scent wrapping me in something warm and inviting.

I opened the door of my room slowly, peeking out to check the hallway. Two maids were dusting the corridor, and one guard stood near the stairs, pretending to check his phone. The moment they saw me, everything froze.

Gasps.

Someone dropped a duster.

I walked forward slowly, chin up, heart hammering. I pretended not to hear the muffled coughs, the awkward shuffling of footsteps as I passed by. My cheeks burned, but I didn't stop. Damir's room was at the end of the hall, and tonight, I wasn't a shy little flower anymore.

I knocked once, then pushed the door open without waiting.

Steam curled out toward me, and there he was…..

Damir.

Just stepping out of the bathroom, a towel slung low around his waist, drops of water still sliding down his chest. His hair was wet, sticking slightly to his forehead, and his lips were parted as if he'd just sighed.

Then his eyes landed on me….and widened.

His whole body went still.

And I smiled.
