They Had Lost Her.
"Get her! Get her now!"
Aaron's voice was hoarse with terror, his body moving on instinct as he and David lunged for Sarah.
But she wasn't Sarah anymore.
Her body didn't resist.
She let them drag her, limp and weightless, like a ragdoll.
Her head lolled to the side, those hollow, empty eyes staring at nothing—and yet, seeing everything.
Matthias led the way.
His breath came in short, panicked gasps as he kicked open the door of a collapsed house, its rotting wood groaning under their weight.
This would have to do.
"Put her down. Now."
David and Aaron dropped her onto the dirt floor, panting, their hands shaking.
Sarah's body hit the ground hard, but she didn't react.
Not even a flinch.
Matthias moved quickly, his fingers tracing ancient symbols into the dust, forming a barrier other entities can't cross.
"It wouldn't hold forever. But it would keep the entity at bay—for now".
Aaron pressed his back against the crumbling wall, his heart pounding.
David wiped the sweat from his brow, but his eyes never left Sarah."She's still in there, right?" His voice was small.
Matthias ignored him.
Instead, he knelt beside Sarah, placing his hand on her cold forehead.
He whispered.
A prayer.
A desperate plea.
Sarah's body soon twitched.
She moved.
Not like a human.
Not like something that belonged in this world.
Her back arched unnaturally.
Her head twisted too far to the side, bones cracking.
A low, inhuman giggle slipped from her lips.
Then—
She vanished.
"Shit! Where is she?!"
Aaron barely had time to react before something slammed into him—hard.
He flew. His back hit the wall with a sickening crunch.
Matthias turned just in time to see Sarah's body crawl up the ceiling that was still intact—her limbs twisting in ways that should have broken her.
Father Matthias wanted to perform his swift move like he did with Malcolm but it was as if the darkness learned from it's mistake, she moved as fast as him and lunged him also against the wall beside Aaron, now they were both trapped in an unforseen force holding them both in the air, unable to move.
Her empty eyes snapped to David who shrieked in terror.
And she smiled.
"David...".She said, acting humane.
His breath hitched.
His feet wouldn't move.
He was frozen.
She dropped from the ceiling, landing inches from him.
Her lips curled into a sickening grin.
"Do you still want me?"
David shook.
He wanted to run but he couldn't,dropping the bag where their weapons are.
Her fingers ghosted over his chest, his stomach.
Soft. Warm.
It felt like Sarah
She was full of something dark, inviting.
"Go on..." she whispered into his ears slowly.
She took his hand, placed it against her chest. Then on her breast.
David shuddered cause it was still soft and enticing.
His fingers twitched.
For a split second, he almost—
Then—
Sarah laughed.
Her lips curled in mockery.
"You men are all the same."
Then her jaw unhinged.
Her teeth stretched into jagged, inhuman fangs.
David couldn't breathe. His knees shook violently.
His fingers twitched against the warmth of her chest.
Sarah's grin widened.
The thing wearing her skin tilted its head, watching him.
Waiting.
David felt his stomach twist.
"This isn't her. This isn't Sarah."
And yet—
Her touch was real.
Her voice was honey, smooth and laced with poison.
"Don't fight it, David," she whispered.
Her hands slid up his arms, his neck, his jaw.
"You wanted me for so long… and now, you can have me."
David sobbed.
Tears streamed down his face as his lips trembled.
His body betrayed him, rooted in place, shaking under her touch.
He couldn't run.
He couldn't move.
All he could do was pray.
"Our Father, who art in heaven… hallowed be Thy name…"
Sarah's grip tightened.
Her nails dug into his skin.
"Shut up....."she screamed at him.
Her grin twisted, dark amusement flashing in those cursed, hollow eyes.
"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done..."
David squeezed his eyes shut.
"Please, God…"
Sarah leaned in, forcing her claws more into his skin, causing bleeding.
Her lips brushed against his ear—
BANG.
Gunfire erupted.
David flinched.
Sarah's body jerked violently backward.
BANG. BANG. BANG.
Gunfire rained down, the air filled with smoke and chaos.
A voice roared over the noise.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!"
Graves.
David hit the floor, panting.
His hands shook uncontrollably as Sarah's body convulsed under the relentless hail of bullets.
Her head snapped back.
Her flesh ripped open.
The darkness inside her squirmed, trying to mend the damage—
But the bullets didn't stop.
Graves and the surviving officers emptied their rounds into her, not giving her darkness time to heal.
Her body twisted unnaturally, thrashing in agony.
She let out a piercing shriek, a sound not of this world—
Then—
Silence.
Her body collapsed.
Limp.
Still.
The air hung heavy.
David sucked in sharp, ragged breaths.
He turned his head slowly.
Sarah's body lay in a pool of black, unnatural blood.
Her eyes were closed.
Her face—peaceful.
Like she was just... asleep.
Graves stepped forward, rifle still raised.
He nudged her body with his boot.
Nothing.
Aaron staggered forward, clutching his bruised ribs.
His voice was hoarse.
"Is... is she dead?"
No one answered.
Then—
A whisper.
So soft, so faint—
It was Sarah's voice.
"Help... me..."
David's heart stopped.
Her lips moved slightly, her fingers twitching.
She was still in there.
Trapped.
A prisoner in her own body.
One of the soldiers, an expert in field medicine, moved closer to her.
"Stay away from her—!"
Father Matthias screamed, his voice raw and desperate.
But before anyone could react—
Sarah's eyes snapped open.
And they were hollow again.
The darkness surged.
Sarah lunged.
Her jaw unhinged, mouth stretching unnaturally wide—
Her teeth sank deep into the medic's throat.
He screamed, thrashing, his fingers clawing at her face.
Blood spurted out, painting her in crimson.
The others grabbed at him, trying to pull him free—
But Sarah bit down harder.
Her mouth stretched further, her lips curling into a twisted grin.
With an inhuman gurgle, her teeth ripped through flesh.
A sickening SNAP.
Her mouth encompassed his whole neck—
Tearing it from his body.
The medic's head lolled backward, eyes still frozen in horror.
Sarah chewed.
Gnawing.
Ripping.
Smiling.
Her hollow eyes flicked toward the others, dripping with malice.
Aaron gritted his teeth.
"I'm sorry....."He said
His hands shook as he reached for the gun from their storage room in the bag.
He took aim.
And fired.
The bullet ripped into Sarah's chest—
And for the first time, she staggered.
The entity shrieked.
Its regeneration faltered, the wound struggling to close.
Sarah twitched, her body spasming as black veins pulsed beneath her skin.
Graves and the others seized the moment.
They pinned her down, forcing her against the floor.
"MATTHIAS! DO IT NOW!"
The priest stumbled forward, his body weak, hands trembling.
He dropped to his knees, drawing a circle of blessed ash around her.
His voice rose in desperate Latin chants, the air thick with power.
Sarah thrashed violently.
Her mouth foamed black, her body convulsing.
But Matthias kept going, voice unwavering.
David stood in the corner, paralyzed.
His breath hitched, chest heaving, eyes unblinking.
He couldn't move.
He couldn't think.
All he could do was watch.
Watch as Sarah—
The woman he once desired—Turned into something beyond saving.
The Exorcism
Sarah screamed.
Not just a human scream—
A wretched, otherworldly wail that rattled the walls.
Her body twisted, contorting at unnatural angles, her limbs jerking violently.
Father Matthias continued chanting, sweat dripping down his face.
The air grew thick, suffocating, as if the room itself was breathing.
Sarah's eyes rolled back.
Black veins spread across her skin, pulsing, fighting against the holy words.
Then—
A piercing shriek.
The darkness erupted from her mouth in a cloud of thick, writhing shadows.
It lashed out, clawing at the walls, shrieking in defiance.
Matthias clutched his cross, pressing it against Sarah's forehead forcing the demon to adjust her bones and heal her body back to the way it was.
"Begone!" he roared.
The darkness shuddered.
It twisted, writhing violently—
And then—
It vanished.
A deafening silence filled the room.
Sarah's body went limp, she couldn't feel any of her body system.
For a long moment, no one moved.
Aaron took a slow step forward.
Sarah's eyes fluttered open.
They were no longer hollow.
She blinked, dazed, her breathing shallow.
"Aaron...?" she whispered, voice hoarse.
Aaron let out a shaky breath.
He dropped to his knees beside her, exhaustion hitting him all at once.
Matthias sagged, barely holding himself upright.
Graves surveyed the room if anything unexpected was about to happen but everywhere was silent, his expression unreadable.
David...
David was still frozen in place.
His face pale.
His hands shaking.
And deep inside him—
The fear had already taken root.
