" Lauren wait, why are you here?."
" I am done with my work so, I decided to spend time with you." Lauren said with enthusiasm.
" Yes you can spend time with me but wait first." Daphne took a tape roll and cut a piece with her scissors. She handed the piece to Lauren
" I don't need tape?"
" No it's for your mouth, let me know if you need a bigger piece."
" Why!?"
" Because I like silence when I'm working."
" I won't talk, I promise."
" No you will."
" No I won't." Lauren said with confidence.
Daphne sighed and made space for Lauren to sit on her desk while she started typing.
Five minutes later
" You know, I was not surprised when I heard James cheats on his wife. The man sleeps with anything with holes. Speaking of holes,
Did you know that William is gay. He was always denying it. But I knew it!."
Lauren completed her gist with excitement but paused after seeing Daphne's expression.
" I didn't mean to talk I was ju-."
" It's fine Lauren, what were you saying about Williams being gay?" Daphne said with enthusiasm and was ready to listen.
Daphne was started being friends with Lauren a while after she started working.
It was time to retire from work and Daphne had asked Lauren to get a cab with her so they would go home together.
She and Lauren left her office was when someone stopped her. Lauren gave Daphne a side eye when she saw who it was. Daphne sighed.
" Hey Daphne and Lauren." Their coworker said I'm fake happiness.
" How are you?" Daphne spoke first not because she wanted to but because,
she knew how the conversation would go if Lauren spoke first.
" I am good Daphne... Wait Daphne, I have that exact bag you are holding. But mine has sliver metal not gold." The bag had a clutch which was gold.
" But the brand who designed this bag, didn't produce the bag with a silver metal version."
" That is because it is a limited edition bag Daphne. Mine came in exclusively." Erin said with her head up high with confidence.
" No Erin,this bag was made a few years ago." Lauren entered the conversation with an obvious suggestion hidden in her sentence.
Erin's face paled a bit after realizing she had been caught but she composed herself.
" Lauren, the cab is almost here let's go." Daphne quickly tried to end the conversation by dragging Lauren along with her.
" I dislike Megan sooo much,the only thing she does is to flirt with men who clearly are not interested in her but she is too delusional to notice and brag about luxury items that she doesn't own." Lauren said in an agigated tone.
" Why is she still in this company? Is she offering anything valuable?." Lauren said with annoyance
" Well,if she was not offering any thing useful, she would have been fired long ago." Daphne said which was true. Their boss didn't give anybody favoritism,so if anybody was not performing up to expection,their boss would let them go immediately.
"That's true,I have thought of that."
Daphne and Lauren remained in the cab and talked about other things that were happening in the company.
" Lauren, I feel like Victoria Quinn is dating our boss, or maybe she likes him."
" You saw her too!?."
" Yes I did,where did you see her."
" I was going to use the restroom then I saw her enter his office, I don't think they are dating though." Lauren didn't see their boss as someone who did commitments
"Right.I think they are just sleeping with each other." But it didn't look like it. Considering he moved his face from her. ....
" Anyways see you on Monday Daphne. I would have said to hang out during the weekend but I have something to do."
" Yes good bye Lauren." Daphne said and pulled her in for a hug.
"Good bye." Lauren hugged Daphne and got of the cab. Daphne told Lauren to go without paying because she was going to pay for her. Lauren thanked her and left.
Daphne looked at the time and saw that her brother was probably still at school due to his extracurricular activities so she decided to go pick him up.
Daphne arrived at the school and looked around to ask about gi whereabouts.
"Excuse me sir, do you know any Lucas Windsor by chance?"
" Yes ma'am."
"I am his sister; Daphne Windsor and I want to pick him from school. Do you know where he does his extracurriculars?." Daphne asked while showing her ID to indicate her honesty.
"Extracurriculars? Lucas does not do any extra curriculars. Not one."The man answered with shock. Lucas was barely catching up with normal school activities,talk more of extracurriculars.
"Okay, but do you know where he is?."
"He should be behind the school building."
Daphne thanked the man and started walking to the back of the school building. While she was going there, she pondered in her head. But for the last three- four years Lucas had been doing extracurriculars like clubs and sports. Or did he stop?
On reaching there,Daphne's fists curled up at the sight. Her brother was vandalizing school property with his friends.
"Lucas."
"What the fuck!? Maddy I said I don't want you anymo-." Lucas held his words when he saw who was staring at him with folded arms.
"Beauty,what are you doing here? I don't remember you being in our class. But you are so beautiful."One of Lucas's friends said after noticing that Daphne looked abit older.
" That's because she isn't dumbass. She's my sister." Lucas whispered to his friend.
" Oh shit." The friend whispered back to Lucas.
Daphne did not answer any of them but walked towards Lucas and held him by his shoulders.
"Where is your bag?"
Lucas pointed at it. It was on the floor next to their spraying cans
"Good,pick it up let's go."
" But I-." Lucas held his words after seeing the look his sister gave him.
He quietly took his bag and whispered to his friends " text me " and left with Daphne.
