Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

|3rd POV|

Albus Dumbledore looks at the letter in front of him with a sigh. The situation in the United Kingdom is tense. With the Dark Lord managing to get his hand on the Philosopher's Stone, the Cold War between the Dark and Light Factions turned into a Shadow War.

Voldemort starts his Shadow War again and kills people who oppose him. Because of this, many Light Families go underground, and some of them even pull their children away from Hogwarts. He tries to reason with them, telling them that Hogwarts is the safest place on Earth, but they do not listen.

Because of this, more than twenty people left Hogwarts.

What makes matters worse is anyone who he is about to accept as Professor of the DADA is killed by the Death Eaters. Not only that, they die in such a gruesome way that people are afraid of applying to be a Professor of DADA.

He doesn't know why Voldemort is doing this, but he has a few theories, one of which is to prevent the future generation from learning how to defend themselves.

And it is working.

Hogwarts will start soon, and he is running out of options as no one wants to be a professor.

However, before he loses hope, an owl lands on the window next to him. He picks up the letter the owl holds and gives it a small treat. He opens the letter and widens his eyes when he sees someone applying for a job.

"Albert Hammond, huh?"

He goes through his memory and searches for Albert Hammond. After a few seconds, he remembers a young man who just graduated from his Mastery Apprenticeship. He is taking a Charm Mastery, but Albert has an O in DADA.

He remembers Albert as a talented student at Hogwarts. He is best in Charm and even uses it very effectively in duels.

Usually, Albert is not someone he picks, but he does not have any choice. Albert is the only one who wants to accept the job. The others are too afraid to do it, and he is about to use a few favors to ask someone to take the job.

With a smile, he writes a letter, telling Albert he is accepted as the new Professor of DADA at Hogwarts.

His only hope is that Voldemorts and his people are too late to notice his new professor. He will put the registration form on the last day it is needed so the Death Eater does not read it before Albert enters Hogwarts.

When I arrive in this world, my senses overwhelm me. My new power lets me sense the state of this universe. I can feel how this world is at its seventh cycle, and it only takes a couple dozen more cycles for the entire Multiverse to collapse.

I can feel the Blind Eternity. I can feel the Far Realm behind the thin but infinite layer of reality that separates this realm and that place.

I shake my head and take a deep breath. I close my eyes and look deeper into myself. My soul looks like a sun because it is so bright; it might as well be a sun. As a Pre-Mending Planeswalker, my soul is immortal. It cannot be destroyed by normal means. If I am dead, my soul will linger into the world and can either possess someone's body or create a new one by manipulating the mana.

I also know that I can easily tap the mana from this entire planet and can tap mana into another realm when I grow stronger. Not only that, my power also gives me instinctual 'spells' for me to use. It is not a spell but rather of me rewriting reality to let me cast the result I want.

Also, because of my power, I can learn any type of magic I encounter, with only a few exceptions. That means I can learn Wizarding Magic without a problem. I can learn it faster using my Planeswalker sense.

For now, I need to buy the books first and learn all the spells from the ground up.

I look around and notice that I am sitting on a chair in the middle of the living room. This is my home, a one-floor house near Diagon Alley. It is a perfect location for my job because this place is the hot spot for the Death Eaters to cause chaos.

I can intervene and kill them.

However, I also need to get close to Harry to ensure he will not die from the Death Eater in Hogwarts. What? I don't want to risk Snape being a true Death Eater instead of a fake one. Not only that, I also don't want to risk Draco Malfoy killing him to please his father and the so-called Dark Lord.

That means I need to enter Hogwarts, and I have an idea of how to do it. I am a Master of Charm and wonder if I can apply as a Professor of DADA at Hogwarts. Depending on the year, I can be one.

For now, I need to know which year I will appear in. I take the pouch full of gold on the table and leave the house. I walk through the busy streets of Diagon Alley and go to the nearby store to buy a newspaper.

Rob is kind enough to give me the basic knowledge of this world and how it works. I know an adult wizard who has stayed in this world for a long time. I know all the shops in this place like the back of my hand.

I buy a newspaper and read it.

"15th June 1992, huh?"

That means it is a second year in the timeline, right? I can win against Lockhart in the competition to take the position of DADA professor. Unless he is from an Ancient Family who uses his family name or takes the position, I am good.

With that in mind, I return home and write a letter to Hogwarts. I make sure to include my Mastery License and NEWT result. I also included all the certificates Rob had prepared for me. With that done, I leave the house and walk to the Post Office.

I give the letter, pay for it, and leave the building.

My next destination is Gringott. I need to get more money and to do that, I need to sell some of the jewels and gold from my Gate of Babylon. Gringott is willing to buy pure gold in exchange for their fake gold.

Walking through the front door, I can see and feel the magic around and underneath the building. My Planeswalker sense already knows what kind of enchantment is in this building and how to make them.

Also, this build is considered an Artifact, so that I can summon the entire thing with enough mana.

I ignore that for now and walk to the teller in front of me.

"What do you want, human?"

I summon a bar of five kilos of gold and put it on the counter.

"I want to sell the gold."

He looks at the golden portal in shock but quickly snaps out of it and picks up the gold bar. He sniffs the gold and licks it, tasting it. After a few seconds, he nods and says.

"It is one hundred percent pure. Follow me, let's talk in my office."

The talk did not take long, and after a couple of minutes of negotiation, I got 16,000 Galleons in my pocket. With this money, I can buy all the books I need to learn about this world's magic and fulfill my role as a professor.
