Isabel was still here, so were Abigail and Lottie. But they didn't dare interfere. Both beasts were at a level where they couldn't even help.
They stayed a good distance away and watched with hope in their eyes.
Isabel watched with rapt attention, like this was a demonstration in a lesson.
Damian dodged the blow from the Wyvern and then turns to the dragon briefly. He swipes at it with the sword, and it grazes the cheek of the beast. It barely flinches, the cut long but shallow.
The dragon dives towards him, mouth open and teeth bared. It chomps down on him, but he dodges again, and then he refocuses on the Wyvern. He drops down onto the Wyvern's wound again, abusing the advantage he had gained as he stabs into the wound once. Twice. And as he raises up for a third the Wyvern swipes with its paw, he doesn't dodge in time, and he goes flying back.
A small gash appears on his midsection, and it bleeds profusely. But he seems unperturbed.
He redoubles his attack, flying toward the Wyvern again. This time, it defends its weak area in time, but Dorian had anticipated that and instead aims at the joint where its front leg met its body, the place where the scales had been blown off by a fireball before.
He strikes at it with his sword, and this time a deep, large gash appears. This was a bad injury. The leg of the Wyvern now hangs limply, almost severed.
The Wyvern roars in pain, before it can retaliate the dragon does so for it. It's tail whipping at Dorian from behind, he is caught unawares and can't react in time as he is hit by the tail, one of the spikes in its tail pierces his stomach as he goes flying back.
This time he can't control himself midair and collides with the mountain, a mini explosion erupting at the point of impact.
Abigail gasps in fear, but after a few moments a red glow appears from behind the dust. And as it clears, Dorian is revealed.
His eyes have turned red, and crimson lightning flashes around him.
He hefts his sword, which is glowing with power, red lightning arcing around it as well.
This was why he was called the Red Knight.
The dragon attacks him first, the Wyvern still recovering from the injury.
It barrels towards him and breathes fire once in range. Dorian doesn't block, instead teleporting away, red lightning briefly condensing around him just before he teleports at the side of the dragon, where he strikes with his sword.
It embeds itself into the side of the dragon, and as it flies forward, a large gash is forced into its flesh. Before finally the resistance is too great and the sword is knocked out of the flesh of the dragon, which was roaring in pain now. The fire stopped spurting from its mouth.
With the dragon dealt with for now, Dorian refocuses on the Wyvern yet again. He would likely be able to finish it off before the dragon could recover, he flies over at an absurd speed and attacks the joint of its other foreleg.
The sword rips through the leg, the scales on the other side ripped through as the sword escapes from the mess of flesh.
The Wyvern roars in pain as half its leg falls to the floor. Now properly disabled, Dorian moves for a killing blow. But the Wyvern has more willpower than expected, and it whips out with its long tail, which appears in between him and the neck of the Wyvern. He reacts in time, lifting his sword up and blocking the strike, he's pushed back in the air.
The Wyvern's last-ditch attempt to protect itself causes its tail to be chopped off, as he had blocked it with the sharp end of the sword.
The Wyvern screams in pain, somehow louder and more desperate than before.
Dorian lands on the neck of the Wyvern, and he hefts his sword over his head like a hatchet man, both hands gripping his sword.
His sword is brought down, arcing through the air to kill the Wyvern.
Isabel gasps now. All three of them gasp. Actually, that's wrong, Abigail screams.
The dragon chomps down on the neck of the Wyvern, the sword hefted over Dorian's head embeds itself into the roof of its mouth.
Unfortunately, this isn't a killing blow.
But there is a killing blow, being decapitated was unrecoverable for everyone. Even Dorian.
And as the dragon had clamped down, its teeth had ripped through Dorian's neck and his head rolls down the Wyvern's neck, bouncing down to the floor.
Now Lottie screams, and a guttural scream erupts from Isabel's throat too.
The lesson ends.
