The jet touched down smoothly, the familiar skyline of the city coming into view through the tinted window. The storm brewing inside me was darker than the evening clouds. One of my men—someone I trusted—had stolen from me. A massive amount of money.
Betrayal in my world wasn't just an offense; it was a death sentence. As an Alpha and the head of the mafia, I couldn't afford to look weak. Betrayal had to be met with swift and brutal consequences.
Luca, my right-hand man, was waiting at the car when I exited the jet. His face was tight, his usual confident smirk replaced with unease.
"He's holed up in a brothel downtown," Luca informed me as I climbed into the backseat.
"A brothel?" I repeated, disgust lacing my tone.
Luca nodded. "He probably thinks it's the last place we'd look for him. Coward."
