~Alex's POV
The sunlight filtering through the thick curtains was faint, but it was enough to stir me from sleep. I groaned, running a hand over my face, trying to chase away the haze of a restless night.
Sitting up, I stretched my arms and let out a deep sigh. Another day. Another set of problems to deal with.
Just as I swung my legs off the bed and reached for a cigarette from the pack on the bedside table, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in," I said, lighting the cigarette and taking a long drag.
Luca stepped in, his face a mixture of calm and urgency, as always. Dressed in a sharp black suit, he looked every bit the professional businessman, if you ignored the fact that our business was anything but legitimate.
"Morning, boss," he greeted, standing a few feet away.
I nodded at him. "What's on the agenda?"
