~Alex's POV
The hum of the private jet's engines faded as I stepped out onto the tarmac. The night air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of jet fuel and the promise of chaos waiting back home. Luca was waiting by the car, his tall frame leaning casually against the sleek black vehicle. He straightened when he saw me, his sharp eyes taking in my appearance like he was cataloging every detail.
"Boss," he greeted with a curt nod, opening the door for me.
I slid into the backseat, sighing as the familiar leather interior enveloped me. The journey had been long, but the business deals were worth every second of the tedium. Luca joined me in the driver's seat, and we were off, the car gliding smoothly onto the road.
"How was the trip?" Luca asked, his voice calm but probing.
"Productive," I replied, loosening my tie. "The contracts are signed, and the competition's scrambling to figure out what hit them."
