It was time for morning classes, Liu Yan hurriedly ran to his class and arrived just before class officially started. He had slept too late last night practicing dual cultivation with Ying Xuan.
He sat down, looking around and noticed Tang San's seat was empty. "Tang San must be out with Grandmaster hunting for soul rings right now." he thought.
"I mustn't fall behind" he was determined before turning to Ying Xuan who was beside him. "Ying Ying, want to practice dual cultivation again tonight?" he asked directly.
"Uhh, sure" she said after thinking it over for a bit. She didn't mind it, as it also brought her the same amount of benefits.
During lunch, while Liu Yan was eating, he sensed a glare from someone on the second floor looking at Xiao Wu. "Is that blonde haired kid going to challenge dorm seven tomorrow?" after thinking it through. Liu Yan thought it made sense, "Tang San should be out for about day or two, so either tomorrow or the day after that, they'll come challenging us... better cultivate more"
It was simple, since he knew the plot, might as well exploit this knowledge and prepare for it.
After lunch, he went to the spot where the students from the second floor would challenge them. So, he began digging holes all around the place, some small to trip them while some are big, to trap them in.
After an hour of hard work, he finished. He picked up the unearthed grass and plopped them right above the holes, making it look more natural.
"I can't wait to see their faces" he snickered just imagining the scene.
Back at the dorm, he began to practice dual cultivation with Ying Xuan again. It felt... peaceful whenever he cultivates with Ying Xuan. He was also breaking the bottleneck of level 9 and about to ascend to Level 10. After a while, he finally did it. He opened his eyes in excitement, "Finally! Once I inform a teacher about this, I could get arranged to go to the spirit forest to hunt for a soul ring!"
Ying Xuan sensing this congratulated him. "Why don't we inform a teacher together. I might have forgotten to inform them when I reached Level 10" she said embarrassed while scratching her head.
The next day during lunch, as expected. The students from the second floor came down and challenged the students of dorm seven to a fight. They had agreed to fight in the open area at the back.
When everyone was there, they stood opposite each other, trying to intimidate their opponents. Liu Yan was the only one that knew that the space in between was where all the holes were dug.
He secretly told his dormmates where the holes were dug and they all understood and nodded.
"Heh, so you're the boss of dorm seven, huh? What are you, a killer bunny?" the blonde haired kid mocked Xiao Wu upon seeing her.
The students of dorm seven clenched their fist, they all had the same mindset "To insult our boss means you are insulting us too" they all thought.
"Quit spouting nonsense, how do you want to settle this?" Xiao Wu said with a look of anger and pointed at the blondie.
"Through a fight of course. Each team will send out one representative at a time to fight. Whichever team runs out of fighters first loses. If I win, you, shall become my pet. If I lose, I'll kneel and call you Sister Xiao Wu" the blondie said with arrogance in his voice, it was clear he had gathered some strong students in the academy, or who would make a bet like this.
To kneel and call someone as "big sister" would be humiliating for anyone, losing their pride and dignity.
The students of dorm seven were shocked. Though kneeling and calling someone a nickname that represents senior is normal in this bets. To become someone's pet for losing was simply absurd!
"Sister Xiao Wu, let's not do th-" Wang Sheng spoke but gets cut off by Xiao Wu. "I accept this challenge!"
No consideration nor hesitation at all!!
The blondie upon hearing this thought to himself "Is this bravery and confidence, or blatant stupidity. No matter, I'll this fight for sure!" he smirked before stepping aside.
Behind him was Xiao Chen Yu, the academy's most infamous bully. He was a Level 12 soul master, considered to be realms above normal people. Xiao Chen Yu stepped forward, Xiao Wu was about to step forward when a voice called out. "Wait!"
Xiao Wu looked back to see Tang San running to them, having just learnt that a fight was about to happen while registering at spirit hall after gaining his first soul ring.
"Don't be rash, Xiao Wu" Tang San said to her. "How can I not be rash, they were the ones that were at fault!" she retaliated, whose side was this guy on. "I meant I'll be the one to fight, after all, I'm also a work student" Tang San said confidently.
Tang San then stepped out and introduced himself to his opponent, it was basic courtesy. "First Grade Student, Tang San. Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass"
The blondie laughed upon hearing his martial soul "They really sent out someone with a junk spirit, doesn't this just mean you are surrendering?"
"Xiao Chen Yu, Martial soul: wolf" Xiao Chen Yu said before charging forward without waiting for Tang San.
To the students of dorm seven and blondie's surprise, a yellow soul ring slowly rose from Tang San's feet. "A hundred year soul ring?!" was all their collective thoughts.
"That doesn't matter, no matter how old your soul ring is, you'll still lose!" Xiao Chen Yu charged at Tang San ready to end the battle in one blow. What he didn't expect was to step in a small hole and almost trip. Blue silver grass grew from the ground and Tang San using Mystic Eyes saw a bigger hole in the ground that could fit his opponent.
Without hesitation, he maneuvered the blue silver grass, coiling around Xiao Chen Yu's legs and torso before dragging him head first into the hole. Getting him stuck.
"What the! This is cheating, why are there holes in the ground?!" the blondie yelled,
"Well you picked the fighting spot, didn't you? You have no one to blame but yourself." Liu Yan said loudly to the blondie.
"Grr, who cares about the fairness. Everyone charge!" at this moment, all the students will soul rings immediately charged forward to attack, intending to overwhelm Tang San first before the others. "Get that junk martial soul guy first! He can't possibly win in a one-to-many encounter no matter how old his first soul ring was" This however, was proven to be naive thinking.
"Who said he was alone?" Xiao Wu said before jumping forward, "Martial soul possession! First soul skill: Jiujutsu" Xiao Wu said, a yellow soul ring rose and lit up and she proceeded to send multiple people flying. Some charged at the other work students, which Liu Yan stood in front to block their attacks. Fu Tian was also surprisingly there. A few punched Fu Tian but couldn't even go for a second strike before holding their fist in pain, groaning.
Liu Yan, dodged their punches and hit some of them in the gut and face.
Pa, pa, pa, pa
By the end of the fight, all the students on the blondie's side were either on the ground with bruises on their face and hand. or in the holes dug by Liu Yan.
Xiao Wu stood in front of the blondie, who was terrified out of his wits. He subconsciously knelt down and yelled "I-I'm sorry, Sister Xiao Wu! From today onwards, you are everyone's superior." he said while trembling in fear.
Xiao Wu walked forward and raised her hand, blondie flinched and covered his head, but.

Xiao Wu booped his nose before saying "now that's more like it" and turning and leaving.
Blondie thinking he was going to be beaten up, was relieved and slumped onto the ground.
