THIRD POV
"Adrian!" Candela yelled, running towards him.
Evelyn's heart pounded in terror as she got on her shaky feet.
"Adrian, what happened?" Candela asked worriedly, leaning down to Adrian. She shuddered in terror as she stared at the blood on his body.
Adrian's eyes closed slowly, making Candela's heart sink into her belly.
Evelyn stood there, staring at her.
"Adrian," Candela called, reaching for his face.
Adrian didn't respond.
"Adrian!" She cried again.
No response.
Candela threw a scowl at Evelyn.
Evelyn's face twitched.
"You!" Candela snarled.
Evelyn shook her head slightly.
Candela got on her feet, making Evelyn take terrified steps back as Candela approached her.
"What did you do to him?!" Candela yelled.
"Nothing. I...I didn't do any....."
Candela gave her a stinging backhand slap instantly.
"Ah!" Evelyn whimpered, holding her cheek.
"What have you done to him, you snake!" Candela yelled, grabbing Evelyn's hair.
"Stop, please!" Evelyn cried in pain, her heart pounding uncontrollably.
Candela gripped Evelyn's hair tighter, pouring all her anger into her grip.
"You are finally showing your true colors! You killed my husband, you filthy slut!" Candela yelled.
Evelyn cried in pain as Candela continued gripping her hair.
"Mum!" Mario called, running towards them.
"Filthy bitch!" Candela yelled.
Evelyn cried in pain.
Mario intervenes, trying to get Candela away from Evelyn, but she is relentless.
Dolores, Manuel and Lucas quickly ran towards Adrian as the commotion went on.
Dolores stared at Adrian in absolute worry. Her sister's voice made her look at the commotion and then back at Adrian.
The maids came out as well but stood a bit afar from the scene, watching with worry on their faces.
Well, except for Camilla, who is loving the deep shit Evelyn is facing in the lady's hands.
Carlos quickly approached the scene. He moved towards Evelyn as Candela went on grabbing her hair.
Candela was hell-bent on grabbing all the hair off Evelyn's skull if that could be possible.
Evelyn screamed continually, fighting the urge to push Candela away from her.
"Mum, stop!" Mario yelled angrily as he forced his mother away from Evelyn.
Carlos held Evelyn while Mario held his mother.
"Get out of my house, you bitch!" Candela yelled.
"Stop this already, mum!"
"She did this to my husband!" Candela yelled.
"I didn't do anything!" Evelyn cried, making Mario's heart clench at the sight of her tears.
"Shut your mouth! Poisonous snake!"
"Mum!"
"Let go of me, Mario! Let go!" Candela yelled. "Let me deal with this filthy enemy!"
Evelyn sobbed silently as she stared at fuming Candela.
"She is not our enemy, Mum. Stop this already!"
"Of course she is our enemy. You might be blind, but I am not. She did this to my husband!" Candela yelled, glaring at Evelyn.
"She didn't do anything!"
"How do you explain the blood on her face and the fact that I found her alone with him in his state?!" Candela yelled, looking at Evelyn.
Evelyn's heart sank into her belly as she recalled how she got the blood stain on her face.
"Carlos, take Evelyn to her room, please," Mario said.
Carlos nodded, taking Evelyn away.
"Let go!" Candela yelled, releasing herself from Mario's hold as she walked towards Adrian.
So did Mario.
Candela pushed Dolores away, making her whimper as Candela focused on her husband, ignoring Dolores.
"Adrian, don't die on me. Don't you dare!" Candela warned.
"He is not going to die, mum. Can you please chill for a little second?!"
"Shut up, you fool!"
Mario's face twitched.
"Candela..."
"Stay out of this, Dolores!" Candela snapped as Mimi walked towards Dolores.
"This ungrateful brat brought this upon us. That thing has succeeded!" Candela yelled at Mario's face.
Mario heaved a sigh, looking away from her.
"Alfredo is on his way," Lucas said, putting his phone in his pocket.
"Good. Let's take him to his room." Mario said.
Lucas and Manuel joined and the three of them picked Adrian up.
They headed to the room and Candela followed behind, leaving Dolores and Mimi.
The maids quickly dispersed the minute the men approached and Candela followed them behind.
Dolores wrapped Mimi in a hug.
"Will he be okay, mum?" Mimi asked.
"Yes. We all know he is a strong man," Dolores said.
Mimi nodded slightly.
"The doctor is on his way," Dolores said.
"But....what happened to him?"
Dolores shrugged. "I don't know."
"Was aunt right about Evelyn being responsible?"
Dolores sucked her teeth. "Of course not. She is just upset. You know how she can be."
Mimi nodded.
"And she despises that poor girl."
Mimi heaved a sigh.
"I need to go with them. You, go back to bed. You have school tomorrow." Dolores said, giving Mimi a kiss on the temples before walking towards the direction others followed.
Mimi stood there and rubbed her arms. She has a feeling that this must be Neo and his father's doing.
God, she prays the Don gets better.

EVELYN'S ROOM
Evelyn slowly walked into her room with Carlos following her behind.
She rubbed her arms as she moved towards the bed with the Don in her mind. Her hair and face looked messed up with tears and blood.
Carlos stood a bit close to the door, staring at her.
Evelyn sat on the edge of her bed, looking at nothing in particular as her mind moved.
"Is there something you want me to do for you, ma'am?" Carlos asked.
Evelyn looked at him.
He is looking at her.
She shook her head. "No. Thank you," she said with a weak tone that touched Carlos' heart in a weird way.
He cleared his throat. "Alright then. I am sorry for what happened."
Evelyn lowered her gaze, looking at her fingers.
"Have a good night rest," he said, turning to leave.
"Um...." She spoke up, stopping him on his track. "Will the Don be okay?"
Carlos turned to her.
She was looking at him.
He stared at her for a while, not sure of how he felt about that question.
He guesses she was just worried.
"Yes. He is the strongest man I have ever known." he said boldly.
Evelyn nodded.
"Good night," he said before heading out.
Evelyn let out a sigh. She got on her feet and walked towards her mirror. She stared at herself in the mirror.
Her eyes were almost red with tears in them. She sniffled as she stared at the blood on her cheek.
She moved her fingers to it, feeling the blood stain as her mind moved to the unexpected kiss from the Don.
Slowly, she moved her fingers from her cheeks to her lips. She brushed her fingers on her lips as she slowly closed her eyes.
The kiss repeated in her head.
His strong hand that grabbed her closer, the intensity that came with the way he crashed his lips on hers and the incredible pace she tried to keep up.
All of it made her heart flutter.
It was magical. She thought internally as she opened her eyes slowly.
She stared at herself as the sweet memory was replaced with Candela's fury at her.
The backhand slap left a mark on her other cheek.
Her messed up hair.
And the fact that Candela thinks she did that to the Don.
Candela never liked her. That's why she is accusing her.
Evelyn can't do that to the Don.
She just hopes he recovers.
She really hopes.
She let out a breath as more tears approached.

AN HOUR LATER
ADRIAN'S ROOM.....
Adrian is lying on his back on the bed without his shirt. His lower abdomen is covered with bandages and the sheets cover him halfway.
He is still unconscious but Alfredo, a man around Adrian's age and dressed in casual attire, stood next to him, fixing the blood bag that is connected to Adrian's body.
Candela was standing a bit far from the doctor with her hands folded, staring at Adrian.
Mario, Dolores, Lucas and Manuel are also in the room. They are all worried.
"How is he, Alfredo?" Candela asked.
"Stable. He lost a lot of blood, but this will do perfectly fine." Alfredo said without looking at her as he picked up his file.
"What actually happened, uncle?" Mario asked.
Alfredo turned to them. They are all looking at him.
"I guess he was in a fight or something. He was stabbed."
Candela gulped.
"Oh God," Dolores almost whispered.
"Stabbed?" Mario asked.
"Yes. At his lower abdomen."
"How come that happened?" Mario asked.
"That bitch did this," Candela snarled.
"That's enough, mum."
Candela turned to him.
He glared at her.
"Stop defending that snake, Mario. She is responsible for this."
Alfredo furrowed his brows in confusion as Mario stared at his mother angrily.
"She is leaving this house tomorrow," Candela snarled.
Mario scoffed.
Candela's face twitched.
"That's not going to happen."
"Excuse me?"
